I don't think he is supposed to live. Fromsoft has a history of killing most of their NPCs by the end of the game. Ironically the more you get involved in NPC questlines the more likely they are to get killed from past experience.
Am I the only one who messed up the questline here? I did Rogier's quest after Ranni's quest. What happened to mine then? First, I saw rogers dead body and he left a letter for me. Then I seek the "D" in Stormveil castle. After seeing D's corpse, I'm back to the roundtable and Fia is not in her room. I go around the roundtable and then found her near the blacksmith and standing there in front of D's corpse, I talked to her and she said her farewell to me. And I confuse as hell what's going on in my playthrough? is it a good ending or a worst one?
Holy shit dude I had no idea that the hidden area of stormveil was a thing. Thanks for finally answering the question of what that damned locked door lead to 😂😂
Completely missed his quest line. Dude’s already almost dead (won’t say a word) when I found him in the balcony. Will try to load again and get his stuff.
Damn ...it...the first time i tried to do this, rogier was dead after i got back from seeing the face under stormviel and fia was already handing me the dagger
Damn Elden Rings sidequest suck really really REALLY hard. Incredible how a Game series with a few sidequests comes along and just goes over board with useless Sidequests. And letting every Quest giver die at the end of the quest...just runed everything. I dont know but knowing that my Quest Giver just dies when i help him...isnt engaing at all. One of the reasons why i stopped bothering with the Quests. I dont care about Law Anwsers when EVERY SINGLE NPC DIES. Im glad people are enjoying them but for me....i got to a point where i saw someone with a quest and immediately thought: "Oh great another dude whos gonna die after helping him." and i just didnt do it or even bothered to find out what i need to do. Cause hes gonna die anyway. I dont know, it became extremely unbearable for me to the point where i now look up quest....just to get my expectations confirmed.
Most of it is doable outside of Rogier’s quest. Rogier’s quest just sort of gives context to a lot of the initial game’s setup (mainly Fia and Ranni’s questlines)
Rogier is jus like in a sleep phase wit me, I never interacted with him, but progressed through the game and jus now learning about him. He’s in the hold but when I interact with him he jus groans.
You don't need to see the corpse in stormveil fyi. I finished his quest on my first playthrough without finding that spot at all until after I had finished the final boss and looked up stuff I had missed.
I forgot Rogier was there in Table of Lost Grace that balcony where jump off to meet mini boss, after defeat godrick, after speak Ranni, Ranni leave after kill Seluvis, and far story… I was ignorant :(
this game forces you to play the plus, im basically doing it again to get the good ending. But i dont think i want to get the smithing bearings again though
I ruined his questline..... When he sat and awaited his death at Roundtable Hold, I didn't even consider he'd have a quest chain to himself. So I progressed Ranni's all the way to Eternal City before I reached Altus Plateau because I didn't wanna risk ruining hers' and other 15+ NPCs at once. FML...
can you skip his quest. Because i want to get all the items in the game but i dont want an upgraded weapon. Does skipping it lock you out of any other quests or prevent you from getting non droppable items? and btw i love your videos!
I'm at rannis rise but she's not there so I went bck try to speak with rogier but all I get from him as far as dialog is rannis whereabouts am I missing something?

thanks cris! Will do!
Dude what if you don't wait for him to die??? Like instead of sitting around and letting him die why not get the curse mark before than? I let him die because I saw a guide saying to force time to pass so he dies lol. I did that but like what if instead of making that happen you actually get the curse mark and giving it to him? I swear there's more to it. I'm gonna have to do another play through and see if anything happens
i think he really just wants you to get the curse mark for Hyetta, but I could be wrong.
Coming back to this quest as a lvl 110 and breezed through it!
Just got to Ranni's Rise and spoke to her before looking up this video in my second playthrough. Guess his quest will be for my 3rd.
Real elden lords did this quest for Rogier, because he was nice to us, not because we wanted the rewards.
I like how he chose the longest route to get to rogier
Your quest guides are great.
If you collect the black knife print before everything else you still can continue the quest their no problem 👍
You took the longest way possible to reach some of these places.
You could say that, you could also say I tone the funnest way possible :P
Holy shit dude I had no idea that the hidden area of stormveil was a thing. Thanks for finally answering the question of what that damned locked door lead to 😂😂
Completely missed his quest line. Dude’s already almost dead (won’t say a word) when I found him in the balcony. Will try to load again and get his stuff.
Not really, but you can still get his armor (and maybe the rapier +8 too?) once he dies you’ll get all those items
Really solid walk through.
Thanks Matthew!
Very clear and well done, thank you !
It's crazy how I did the quest line without know and came to this video to see why Roger was dieing lol
The music is so beautiful 😊
Guys I need help after I defeated the boss at caria manor I went to rannis rise and she wasn’t there also I did talk to Roger about her whereabouts
Dude same thing happend to me idk wtf to do
U can skip half of this quest by taking doorway leading to large group follow right wall until u see corpse sitting and fall past it
Damn ...it...the first time i tried to do this, rogier was dead after i got back from seeing the face under stormviel and fia was already handing me the dagger
I fear nothing but that face below stormveil, it scares me 🥶
I never saw in the Roundtable after talked with him..
Just to confirm you need kill tree spirit to ask him about dead body under castle.
If you're a pure caster sorceror, Gavel of Haima wrecks that blackknife assassin
Thanks for not saying anything about the defuff with the hugging lady.
I got everything not knowing it's Rogier's quest line. It's pretty random to me.
Most of it is doable outside of Rogier’s quest. Rogier’s quest just sort of gives context to a lot of the initial game’s setup (mainly Fia and Ranni’s questlines)
6:35 you just need to consume the baldacchin's blessing and let her hold you, then with the free slot for the blessing the dialogue refreshes
Rogier is jus like in a sleep phase wit me, I never interacted with him, but progressed through the game and jus now learning about him. He’s in the hold but when I interact with him he jus groans.
should still be able to get his armor set.. interact, rest, interact res, until the armor drops
@@ItsShatter rest at Grace or quit the game and start back again
I was so embarrassed to summon rogier in margit boss fight because i thought he's a real player 😂
Omfg this means I literally completed everything the first time around but didn't realize I didn't f up rogiers. 😂
Came here for the guide, stayed for the Marshmallow!!!!
Elden Ring: Rodgier
Shatter: Rodger
Yes, it is necessary to kill the throbbing worm monster to get the dialogue.
You don't need to see the corpse in stormveil fyi. I finished his quest on my first playthrough without finding that spot at all until after I had finished the final boss and looked up stuff I had missed.
Well damn. I just finished Ranni’s quest 😂 next play through I’ll find all these quests to do in order...
I forgot Rogier was there in Table of Lost Grace that balcony where jump off to meet mini boss, after defeat godrick, after speak Ranni, Ranni leave after kill Seluvis, and far story… I was ignorant :(
Why isn’t ranni showing up at her chair when roiger told me to meet her
Sadly, he died after I went underneath Stormveil Castle. I wish I could have progressed his quest
I didn’t realize ROGER had quite the quest line.
Great guide thank you for making it!!!
6:04 Vampire Hunter D reference?
amazing guide. best guide ever!
Nice guide, ty.
Got worried I wouldn’t be able to do rannis quest line if I did rogeirs, thanks for the vid.
Glad I could help
this game forces you to play the plus, im basically doing it again to get the good ending. But i dont think i want to get the smithing bearings again though
Thanks man !
So, how do you witness the face? I have been trying for a long time but it just doesn't work (5:30)
I ruined his questline..... FML...
Cant believe I missed a few crucial parts of this quest, though on my first playthrough I was able to reap the awards
Rogier isn't at the roundtable after I spoke to ranni
Killed everybody in the whole fuckin castle just to die to a fucking bird
can you skip his quest. Because i want to get all the items in the game but i dont want an upgraded weapon. Does skipping it lock you out of any other quests or prevent you from getting non droppable items? and btw i love your videos!
I can't find Rogier in the Round Table after finding him in the castle. I haven't beat Godrick because i can't find Nepheli either
You my friend have dictated the next 6 hours on elden ring for me thanks m8
I'm at rannis rise but she's not there so I went bck try to speak with rogier but all I get from him as far as dialog is rannis whereabouts am I missing something?
might need to fix ranni's quest with absolution. If you attacked Blaidd, seluvis, or Iji, or angered them in any way. Just try absolution and it might let you/fix it.
Have you triggered the Radhan festival? Defeat him first, freeing Blaidd from this preoccupation as well, and then she'll return.
The cave with the black knife assassin is making me lose the will to live
I love it when ranni belittles me
