This is the first video I've seen on proper lock security, so its excellent just from that point of view, but you cover a whole lot more thought provoking facts. Really interesting, and great pieces by the way. Love your custom head lock design. Cheers for sharing your expertise. Must check out some more of your vids.
Facts if im buying a 24" chain theres no reason for a clasp. Im not gonna unhook it to put it on when I can slip it right over my head I dont understand that... plus its super duper clean
I got a pre owned 11MM 10KT chain for barely anything over scrap, with a box. I almost got the sleek but the classic look is the box lock. I just traded in my 11MM for a 17MM and without a doubt I’m getting a sleek lock soon. Box lock after about 12MM is quite big IMO
Ive had both sleek lock on bracelet and box lock on both 9mm cubans and i never had problem w either, but to me for some reason traditional box lock feels safer.
I ended up going with the sleek lock for my 10mm 14k 22in from Daniel jewelry. Thanks to you Cuba. I just got it on Friday. Gotta say it feels way more stiff (pause) and secure than I thought it would and I don’t ever plan on taking it off.
The traditional Daniel sleek lock ( not personally done like yours ) for the necklaces they do I feel is the most secure . It’s not like the other sleek locks I’ve noticed from other brands . When I had the traditional default figure 8 lock for Daniels the figure 8’s loss tension pretty quick and came off throughout the day 6 months down the line . Everyone has had different experiences though ❤
Another great video I never liked sleek lock I prefer the traditional lock it gives your chain all around Cuban link look of authenticity thank you cubaknow I bought three Cuban link rings one 10mm and two 14mm and a 10mm Miami Cuban link chain with the traditional 3 secure lock 👍🏿🙏🏿💪🏿
Just got a 9mm solid cuban bracelet with a standard box lock Wasn’t sure if I should’ve spent the extra $$ on a sleek lock and even going from a sleek lock to a diamond sleek lock
As I understand gold jewelry loses its stiffness over time so both the sleek lock and box lock will eventually get less stiff on their snappy closures. So the question is which style of lock is less expensive and less complicated for local jewelers to fix when they do start to get loose?
I ordered a diamond sleek lock for my chain I’m having made from Daniels. But I was thinking instead of a straight maybe a curved diamond sleek lock. What do you think? Will it be any different as far as lock strength/ longevity?
My first MIAMI CUBAN LINK was a 3mm with a Lobster clasp and I wear it with a pendant. Currently saving up for a 5 or 6mm one and will end up getting it with a box lock.
Cuba, after watching this video over and over again. I ordered a sleek lock for my chain but I called up the changed it to a box lock. It does make sense.
Currently looking to craft my first Cuban Link Chain and I'm considering all the options for what type of lock I'd like to sell, to be fair I'm totally 50/50 on both so I think I'll learn how to make both and give my clients the option, you can't really compare them on security in my opinion if they're both good at holding up, I think I've always known that the traditional box lock is better but the sleek lock seems to carry it's own weight so I wouldn't use that as a factor. Great video, you earned my sub!
Curious, does a sleek lock weigh less than traditional box lock? Got a bracelet with sleek lock and diamonds and it came out 3grams less than the approx total gram with box lock.
I bought a 18k 20mm 21 in 756g Miami Cuban link chain from Daniels jewelry Inc just about a year ago. I wanted the hand made box lock. A year later it’s just as strong and tight as it was from day one. The traditional box lock flows so beautifully with the Cuban link as it looks like it’s part of the chain. The only thing I got different was the Rolex king crown with diamond tips. I hate the sleek lock. To me it doesn’t flow with a Cuban link chain and I feel like it is not as strong as a hand made box lock. Hand made Daniels jewelry Inc box lock all the way 💯. Like I said I’ve had this 18k 20mm 21 in 756g Miami Cuban link chain from Daniels jewelry Inc about a year. And wear it a lot. Still looks brand new and the hand made box lock is so so strong and the figure 8s and the lip from the female part is just as strong and tight a year later just like from day one from Daniels. 👍
Question for those that have a traditional box lock on a 8mm+ that you daily wear including sleeping with it: is it noticable and uncomfortable? Like the little side prongs and tabs do you feel them? Would you rather have a sleek lock if you got another one?
So with the standard box lock and your personal opinion, would you say that the main lock is sufficient by itself for casual wear? Could you pull your chain or bracelet apart minus side locks? I'm asking because I've seen box locks without the side latches. Let me know what happens with your chains. Thanks
I been thinking about changing my box lock because of the whole NO PENDANTS FIT dilema But now I'm deffeantly not Thanks for the video helped me make my decision
After watching this video, I decided to buy a diamond barrel sliding triple box lock, this type of lock has two security points, and not one like most diamond locks that most jewelry stores sell. Thanks Cuba.
My dad bought me a 11mm bracelet with a “sleek lock” i wear it daily. He said it would look good with the 10mm cuban link i got. The specs are 11mm 86.7 grams from Daniel jewelry and my favorite chain is my 10mm 190.3 gram cuban link 26in. My other favorite chain is my 6mm cuban with a custom Jesus piece. Its on my page hope y’all find what you are looking for stay healthy and hydrated everyone 🫡💯
Yep sleek lock is way stronger and I don’t want to hear that the hand made is better , Daniel’s sleek locks are superior ! Even more so when it’s bust down ! I have a dji sleek barrel lock and I have a sleek lock 11mm Cuban which I upgraded to from a traditional box lox from DJI that box lock was cool at first until it lost tension YES it loses tension and you can literally pull it apart every time even after adjusting it only stays right about 10 times wearing it before it happens again I bought into that box lock shit and I’ll never go back
If u had that much of a problem with your box lock then there was something definitely wrong with it. I had mine for a year now and it’s just as strong and tight from day one.
i got a sleek lock chain, but its REALLY hard to open... i dont know what to do. ive been trying to 20 minutes. and i dont want to literally brute force it, scared of possibly breaking the chain. any tips
Im surprised u didnt include the sleek lock of a Monaco chain.... because i personally believe that sleek lock is better than any of the ones displayed in this video... imagine if that technology was applied on a solid piece and not a Monaco....that would actually make it even stronger....
I F W Cuba, he looks ridiculous W grey hair over 40 in the same clothes kids are wearing. That hoody looks goofy ASF! Plain Banana Republic would look 100x better. I love you bihs from the bottom of my empty heart tho.

My 3mm has a lobster clasp. My 6mm and 8mm have box locks. Maybe my next will have a sleek lock. Box locks look the most 🔥🔥 imo.
The sleekest most secure is no lock if your gonna throw it over your head everyday might as well skip the lock all togather.

I got the traditional box lock for mines. Agreed sleek locks look good if it’s iced out. I do like the security of the box lock
Cuba stepping his watch game up with that two tone Daytona much love my brother

Is he doing good numbers for those measurements that’s the exact type I want to match my 13mm 14k bracelet
@@julianreyna7054 I can’t speak for everyone but I ended up getting 10.3mm and wasn’t charged extra for the extra I got.
How is it now?
Debating between box and sleek, leaning more towards sleek. Are you happy with yours?
Can you test out the curved sleek locks apparently a lot of jewellers do em and it prevents flipping of the chain
What's your opinion on DJI sleek lock that they make for there chains?
Love your informative videos. Always the best.

Easy to fix that bro. Needle nose pliers and it's fixed.

Mine is 4mm with a box lock I wear with a pendant.
One day when I get one I think I’ll go bus down sleek lock just for the look.
Just got a 9mm solid cuban bracelet with a standard box lock
Wasn’t sure if I should’ve spent the extra $$ on a sleek lock and even going from a sleek lock to a diamond sleek lock
So did you end up liking the box lock on the bracelet ??

I like the old traditional lobster claw 🙌

Who did you order with ? Sleek lock from Daniel’s is secure they hand made noncasted
Dji are getting started on my 9mm cuban. Can't help but wonder if I went the right route w the sleek. Perhaps a single figure 8 lock on the side?..

I would get a sleek lock but only if buss down. If not just a regular box lock.
Curious, does a sleek lock weigh less than traditional box lock? Got a bracelet with sleek lock and diamonds and it came out 3grams less than the approx total gram with box lock.
This was also my experience.

I been thinking about changing my box lock because of the whole NO PENDANTS FIT dilema But now I'm deffeantly not Thanks for the video helped me make my decision
This video definitely helped me make my decision.
Thanks to your knowledge
Cuba, just bought a 12mm upgraded from a 10mm. I went with a sleek lock this time. I think it’s more secure with that extra weight.
After watching this video, I decided to buy a diamond barrel sliding triple box lock, this type of lock has two security points, and not one like most diamond locks that most jewelry stores sell. Thanks Cuba.
Thank you for this was thinking sleek but now I'm gonna get box, looks better, more secure, and a few bucks cheaper
I went with the sleek lock on my Cuban from Gus Villa
Just got my first cuban link chain the other day, 10k 7.5mm 24inch with a box lock with diamond pendant..shit so 🔥
What mm is the gold chain in your video with the sleek lock?? Thx
Well explained yo an box is the best 3 locks

You should do a review on that 2 tone Daytona

Is the Bust down on the sleek lock make it harder to resell?
@@OnMyGrindEveryDay ehh anything with diamonds I’ve learned is harder to resell they never 👎 give you anything close to what it is worth

I want a lock box so badly I have flips
i fuckin love this channel
Traditional 👍👍
Lmao your doing to much with your face in the sleek lock 😂😂😂 or is it just right!
Definitely doing to much 🤣
@@Cubaknowloco 😭
Why won’t they just have one that just screws in
Since you Cuban chain will tend to flip over the box lock with the stones is a waste of money
I think sleek lock looks cleaner. Box lock looks bulky.

Daniel's tradition box locks look like crap now. If going with Daniel's get the sleek lock.
No sir....
U should review Bling cartel

Sleek locks = lost chains
