You, gentlemen, are the Hydro-Dynamic Duo. Forever vigilant in exposing the 'grime' and corruption, from bow to stern, topmast to keel. Since CaptQ is such a talented pole dancer, I would not be surprised if I saw some famous cameos pop out of the deck hatches as you make your way across the top side. Great episode and really nice boat.

Stunning is the only word that can describe this boat I love every thing about it .especially the omage to the stern of the old wooden sea going sailing ships of the past. every detail of her is so well thought out .the room , the detail the comfort thru out .the ease of access to every thing .even her broadside view in the water .the amenity's .she deserves the P.B. award for her class .

Humdinger of a boat. Easy 40 points for her looks and design. But so ship shape, points for the chart table, line stowage and squared away wiring. I think 50 points would not be over doing it. Props to the owner for keeping such a nice boat in such excellent shape.

Captain Q, I was worried you would forget the points for the chart table and the forward line storage but at 47 points they both seem well covered. What a wonderful boat. A day of shopping for provisions and you would be on your way for a very long cruise down the coast and into the Caribbean. Thank you and Randay for this grand tour. Best wishes for a speedy recovery on your shin.

With the keel stepped mast, shaft drive, and fully skegged rudder I would feel safe crossing oceans (after keel inspection). Love me that aft kings cabin with the deluxe head! All the OCD organization is nice. Not a big fan of dog houses or dog house wanna bes, not the best in a good blow. Hydraulic steering is nice but a baby wheel? Maybe the wheel on the kings bed was the running gear removed for space? 🤔🤔 Emergency steerage even if you have to tie yourself down on that aft deck is needed. IMO Large percentage of SOS calls from losing steerage. Loss steerage due to a jammed rudder sailing through Active Pass. It was interesting, that water is cold.
Thanks for another great review. Liked the sign off.

Nothing comes close to the Puffin, except for the special steel hull yawl. You two need to go show a really nice aluminum expedition sailboat. I like wood sailboats that are glued together with the epoxy west system, & to me the best one is the 60 ft Spirit Sailboat. The one with the square cabin top that gradually Angles downward toward the front. What do you think about the new Channel Pilot cutters, that are steel but have modern mast & rigging with hydraulic/electric winches. It's to bad they don't make an all wood Bristol or Falmouth channel Pilot cutter, ketch with modern rigging with electric winches. If you ever want to see a beautiful sailboat take a look at the Polly Agatha, it's 45 ft long. There is a nice little documentary about about a beautiful sailboat called building Emma. The future of sailing will be S.W.A.T.H
small waterline area twin hulls that are sealed torpedo shaped hulls that get submerged underwater by the weight of a rectangular platform that is attached to the sealed torpedo shaped hulls, by knife shaped hydrodynamic stilts/pilons, to cut through the water efficiently. Instead of madt & sails the sailboat will be powered by vertical axis wind power. Below the vertical axis wind generators would a gearbox with forward, neutral & reverse. Out of the gearbox would be a long shaft incased in a water tight pipe with bearings, on the outside end of each torpedo shaped hull will be an L shaped gearbox with a propeller facing backwards, one on the front of each torpedo shaped hull, & one on the back of each shaped torpedo shaped underwater sealed hulls. The torpedo shaped hulls are submerged because of the weight of the platform that has the 4 vertical axis wind generators. At the rear of the swath vessel is a beam running across left to right on the knife shaped pylons. On the beam is a narrow electrical out to get the vessel out of the harbor. When the vertical axis wind generators are powering the SWATH vessel, the electrical outboard motor becomes a generator. These swath vessel at the platform level, are 20ft above the surface of the ocean, they can be raised like an oil rig another 15ft if the oceans get really rough. The SWATH vessel never rocks or rolls, or porpoises up & down, they are rock steady because the hulls are below the surface like submarine. Also the torpedo shaped hulls have 2 horizontal wings that goes from the left hull to the right in the front & the other in the rear. Both the torpedo hulls have keel like vertical fins on on the bottom sides of each hull. The turning rudders are at the rear of each torpedo shaped underwater hulls. The 2 story cabin house will be covered with solar panels on the roof, & a couple of small wind generators, to help keep the lithium ion battery bank charged.

I’m only saying that because I truly believe Melody is unique in her design.
Have you ever done a John Teal designed yacht. John Teale was a very well regarded designer who wrote a pretty influential book called “How to design a boat” which is still in print although he recently passed away.

Sorry not to be able to use the Captain's discount for the show, but I live in MI on a small SS check so I will not be able to attend. That also means I will never be able to afford, well, most any of the boats you review/inspect. But, that's ok, I still like to look and learn from the Captain (hope his stitches aren't hurting).

Never been sailing, but love your vids. I have always wondered on these sailboats there is such little room on either side of the punch bowl shall we say, in the head. Umm well, how does one say lean over on one cheek? I didn't want to get more graphic with my question. lol Think I'd want a bidet as well.

It’s an art learned through necessity…
but I do agree the bidet would be nice and in fact I found a bolt on one I gave to the kids Don’t know if it got out of the box yet but great idea

Ran-day! Your driving my artist wife nuts. She wants to see the stained glass insert in the saloon.
    What is it she asks?

What was the yellow balloon like object hanging off the sail? I have no sailing experience and am curious as to its purpose.
