7:02 the “click”. Anyone who’s ever been in a 911 knows that “click”, followed by the scent of the interior and then followed by the thunk of closing the door and finally the sound of the engine firing up. It’s like a symphony of Porsche.
@@freliaz I'm so sorry to hear that. Due to health issues, I also had to sell my '88 Targa Carrera several years back. I still haven't gotten over it. I remember that "click" very well. And shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear was always a hoot.
First time I drove a classic Porsche was in a 356C with my dad in a rally. We came in first overall. Sadly he passed away earlier this year, but it has to be one of my favorite memories of him.
Truly a cherished memory. These are the types of memories that I hope to leave my son with. And they don’t even need to be that sexy. A day spent wrenching on a car together or just a quiet day fishing could end up being the best memory of your life.
I know someone who lives in San Jose and her 912 just sat in the garage for 30 years. She only put 2600 miles on it in that time! Thank you for using yours!!!
Thank you, my first Porsche was a 68 912 5 speed in the same color as this one, Porsche red I think its called, great memory to see one driving. I purchased from Casey's Used Cars in Hermosa Beach across from Vasek Polak. All the best Petrolicious!
The second owner was fortunate to have found a gentleman as passionate as he was about owning and continuing to care for the 912. And a German gentleman no less! :)
You are the worthy third owner. This car is very lucky to have you as its owner. Porsche history is fortunate as well. I love it when survivor Porsche's wind up in the hands of people who appreciate and care for them. Thank you for sharing your life in this video.
Great to see a young person enthused with these older cars, 27 years ago when I was 20 I drove a 68 912 it was quite an experience. My father didn't buy the car opting for an 85 TVR 350i however a few years later he swapped it for an 88 9113.2 that's more like it!
I’ve had both two. And in my neighborhood are two of the same cars I had over 20 years ago. 1969 Porsche 911T and a 1973 Alfa Romeo 1750 Both cars are in my neighborhood waiting to be resurrected from sitting for years. Both owners are my friends. I’ll have them in my possession soon. 🙏
I have a young friend who has a 912 chasis that he is putting his father's donated 2.7L 6 into, doing most of the wrenching himself and uses a Miata NA as his daily while he assembles his 911 🙂 - lovely video thanks from San Jose, CA
I owned a SWB '66 912 and upgraded to a SWB 911 and have to say the 911 feels more special, however the 912 has a sweeter balance as the engine is much lighter than the 2.0lt unit. I will definitely be looking to add another 912 to the family at some point. They are great cars!
There's something about these old Porsches for sure. Would love to try one of them one day. I'm more of a vintage BMW fan but this is a different world I'd love to experience.
Great car indeed! I see you are a good coffee lover: La Pavoni coffee machine at 5:00 ... something else in common: Porsche lover (356 being reworked). Recently bought a MG TF youngtimer, a British underdog.
Sehr cool! Halt ihn in Ehren und bring ihn mit, wenn du wieder nach Dtl kommst. Bis dahin, viel Freude damit. Übrigens: der 101 nach Norden lohnt sich auch!!
I've said it before but it's really nice to see Petrolicious doing pieces on the "average" car guy who has a dream and he works hard to get it. even if it's the "base" model I'd happily watch this all day over the people that have 7, 911's because they have a ridiculous amount of money. and good on him for driving it. they're meant to be used, not hidden away to appreciate value
Beautiful SWB 912! I have a "work in progress" '69 912 that is now a '73RS tribute car with 2.4E engine. I just came across a non matching # '67 912 for sale and I'm thinking of making the buy. I've always loved the 912 because it has an engine that I know and can work on myself. You have inspired me to make the 912 my daily driver...if I end up making the purchase. Thanks for posting!!!
What a stylish car. The man is so humble. So down to earth. Yes indeed it feels always like you are on top of the world when you achieve your dream. It must be such a pleasure to be a Porsche engineer and then go and get one of these old classic Porsches. In fact that would apply to any car...
Of the six running Porsches I’ve owned, my ‘68 4-speed in this same ruby red is my favorite. Handling was out of this world - like my 944 - and I would pretend I was in a 935 even when driving slow. I took it to the Chattanooga Porsche dealer where a service manager asked me to take it to a private shop because they couldn’t justify their labor rate for such old technology.
Great memories. !n 1967 I owned a Speedster, then a 356B, got married and my wife and I bought a 1969 912 Targa. in 1969. Car cost us $144 a month, and our apartment cost $125 per month, but we had fun in that car.
Had the chance to see a Porsche 901, the handbuilt prototype. It looked a lot like this car, but the funny part was none of its parts were interchangeable. Everything was a completely different size. They didn’t stick with the 901 designation because Peugeot sued them, claiming the 0 in the middle of a number set was their trademark
I drove my Jaguar XE on this road and thought I was cool, but man, this dude has me beat by a mile. I haven't driven many classic cars, but it seems like it'd be very enjoyable.
It is appropriate that Jonas, from Germany working for a German car company becomes the third owner. The seller cared about who would be the next owner and he found the perfect buyer in Jonas.
Yet another delightful film. I don't know what it is about old Porsches. They're not beautiful cars in the way most Ferraris are. The engines are in the wrong place and sound horrible, like an expensive VW Beetle and the handling is borderline lethal in the wet. And yet... and yet... I'd love one.
My Father has the same back in 1968 . he choose to travel from Belgium to Germany & buy it at the factory . Than coming back with it & journeying 500 miles enjoying it . IT was in navy Blue color one .....too bad he did not pass it on to me . It had the little 4 cylinder 1.6 i think - before they came with the fact 6 in the 911 .
This is how Porsche and every Company should choose their employees. No silly assessment center and stupid questions. Just find out their pure passion for the job
I owned a fire engine red '68 Targa that died in '89. It sat for the next 9 years in two different homes til I sold it. I sure hope it's being driven proudly today, by somebody who treats it better than I did.
The 912 is my dream car and has been since I was a young boy. Every time an owner of one is on Petrolicious my passion for Porsche really does grow. Jonas you're living the dream !
Heavy duty VW. I had an opportunity to purchase a 912 at a good price back in 1990, but it needed a clutch and I gave it a pass. I should have bought the 912. I did buy a 911 at a good price but eventually sold it. I'd love to have the 911 back. Regrets!

I have the chance to drive one every day as well. A dream come true. The sound of the engine is not at all realistic in the video. Although not a 6, it nevertheless has a fabulous music of its own, powerful and promising. Cheers

Since when has a cement mixer been a Symphony???
This is not nice, sold my 3.2 5 months ago. It hurts.

Wonderful story, this is what makes Petrlicious so good to watch. Looks like the car found its rightful next owner.

What a car and beautiful piece of engineering.
Could watch Porsches and Alfa Romeos all day long
@Salvatore Caruso Lucky me, I have one of each! 😎🏁
Agree bro,but i hope have toyota 2000gt

That is the right car for coastal Cali, windows down instead of AC can work. The roads north of San Fran are awesome, especially 128.

This car is so beautiful.... and you can tell the owner just loves it to bits.
Let's hope it remains whole!
Thank you Jonas for sharing your beautiful car. I wish you many happy years of safe and enjoyable motoring.

You can drive an old Porsche on a regular basis, because they are designed to be simple and reliable.

What a nice car and what a beautiful colour until you have driven one you will never appreciate how good these things are.
Amazing 911 Porsche I drove a 1972 911 2.4 S Targa 190 HP in the 80‘s for 5 years I loved it !
912.
🙈yep a 4 Zylinder 912 😉
I was born in Stuttgart in ‘47.....had a ‘73 914 in 1981 and finally in 1987 got a new Carrera cabriolet which I still own.

The person and the car are lucky to have each other. This is a good one.
Right now, I’m at the, “One day I hope to own an early 70’s Porsche” stage as well as the, “One day I would like to live in California” stage too

Awesome, another Porsche video. Gorgeous car.
Amazing car! But most of all....i love the stories behind every single oldtimer car... :)
Great respect for you driving it everyday, kudos.
and keeping it so clean

Schoenes Auto! Liebe Gruesse aus Campbell, California. Take care of your beautiful car and enjoy driving it.
Always a joy!
Nice clip!
What a beauty
I'm so lucky to have a '69 912. I love that car so much, way the best purchase I ever made. Of the 1960's typ A the 912's had the best balance.
Don't you find it super slow? I mean do you honestly enjoy driving the 912 with so little power or have you modified the engine?
I think there may be more 912 vids on Petrolicious than 911 vids now...
😍So Inlove with Porches, especially the 911.
Great job, great car, living the dream!
Congrats!!!
Very emotional episode 💔
Super video. Super Farbe. Super Einstellung. 🙏
This is amazing! However, please can we have a video of a vintage 911 with no voiceover, just the cars very own symphony 😁
I have the chance to drive one every day as well. A dream come true. The sound of the engine is not at all realistic in the video. Although not a 6, it nevertheless has a fabulous music of its own, powerful and promising. Cheers
Porschilicious???
Why not though?
Marque mythique ^^
I have no problems with this
Awesome car.
Joy to experience
Feelgood all over this video 😁
He needs to tighten that fan belt! Other than that, perfect car.

Daily driver, as it should be. Good for you!
5:36 there is a small dent 😬
I love that car
Mr. Petrolicius please something about Alfaholics, Superformance or Guntherwerks.
Awesome Maybe if I buy a Vintage Porsche I can get a video made too!!!!!!
Has anyone else noticed the Apple Watch strap? It looks great! Do you know which one is it?
The video is beautiful, and this car, my god...
Denn Fahrzeug kommt von Fahren - klasse!
It’s not a new Porsche but a new Driver! I own a 01 996
Did he mention that he drives the car every day?
Air cool life 😎 👌
porshe point 912.,., klasik retro.,.
Wow!!!🚗
Petrolicious needs to check out Jay Aldeguer aka "aircooledph" here in the Philippines. He is one of the biggest Porsche heads here in the country.
Does he drive it much?
I am missing new videos from Petrolicious :(
