    I love how it’s a TIRE launch. Low-tech, cheap, less downtime, easy to service, and gets the job done 😂

    I have ridden Big Dipper on three separate occasions. Having spoken to multiple riders, the general public seem to love it. The rattle is more noticeable in the back but is hardly a deal breaker. No one I spoke to even noticed it. It always cracks me up when coaster enthusiasts stress out about roughness on a coaster as smooth as Big Dipper. You are not buying a new Mercedes to drive for the next 10 years. You are on a roller coaster for 30 seconds of ride time. Having ridden some really rough coasters on multiple continents since 1975 I was impressed with Big Dipper. Given the space they had to work with and the intended audience it is the perfect coaster for Luna Park. The only problem I have is capacity. The only run one train and operations can be slow.

    It would be interesting if intamin makes a hot racer with a blitz layout and Lsm launches. Imagine something like Velocicoaster, Pantheon, BGCE, Toutatis, Taiga, Taron but with demonic pacing like Big Dipper and the prototype raptors.

    This looks like a pretty decent single rail coaster

    My home park! Agree about the rattle! I think it’s due to how the wheels don’t fully butt up against the track. They don’t have the rubber or springs to ensure full contact like B&M or others do. But a fun little ride to have on my way home from work :-)

  • @phil_jeffrey
    @phil_jeffrey Год назад +4

    Starring me!! 😂 It was great to meet you guys that day! I thought it was fun, definitely a front seat ride. Considering the small footprint they had to work with, the layout is decent.

    I think an issue popping up on a lot of recent coasters, particularly Intamins, is that the rider is further away from the center of mass, which is creating a lot more shake and discomfort. With these trains, most of the weight is near the chassis, and since these headrests and restraints are probably light enough for anyone to carry, they seem to shimmy much more. I noticed a similar issue on rides like B&M’s wing coasters, Pipeline, and even VelociCoaster! These seats just shake so much that it’s smoother to have your head and back NOT resting on the seat

    • @Cascade777
      @Cascade777 Год назад +1

      Maybe this explains why RMC raptor train runs smoothly. The seats are literally right on the track, near the center of the weight.

      @@Cascade777was at fiesta in April and wonder woman rly disappointed me mainly due to the awful rattle. Wonder Woman at magic mountain wasn’t nearly as bad but still noticeable but it’s much newer.

    I feel a big problem this model faces is their track design. It's less single rail, and more shrank down tubular track.
    The trains wheels run on those tiny side rail tubes wielded to the main rail. There is so little surface area for them to get a solid grip compared to RMC raptor track (thick running track sections that offer a flat surface).
    I feel this lack of traction is a cause for the shimmy. The trains simply don't have good enough grip on the track.

  • @colliric
    @colliric Год назад +3

    It was designed to be low profile and less noisy because Luna Park Sydney had so many neighbours complaint headaches from the 2nd Big Dipper and they didn't want to repeat the costly controversy from when they previously installed a major coaster.

    Right before you started talking about the shaking, that shot of the back of the seat in front of you had me thinking ‘wow, that seems like it shakes a lot’. 😂

  • @wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037
    @wickedsickfunkyfreshroller2037 Год назад +11

    Seems kind of gimmicky to me. The “single rail” aspect is kind of phony since you can clearly see that it’s just normal track with solid cross ties. The benefits of an RMC single rail, specifically the tighter turn radius, aren’t even used in the layout. I have no doubt that it’s a decent ride, but I hate how gimmicky it is.

    I rode Big Dipped in September 2023. I thought it was a fantastic ride. The rides I had were smooth and fast,it was shaky at spots, like any normal coaster. Don't know when you went but I was allowed to stay on if nobody was in my lane. Once I got to ride 3 times in a row..It is a family coaster, I give it a rating of 9. Big Dipped was fast and very fun for me.

    4:40 Like I always say, that's totally an inversion. Just a marketing gimmick to call it a non inverting loop. I just don't see how it's not. Looks like a great ride. It's also only a borderline single rail coaster to me. Like, if the different between normal track and single rail is just using a plate instead of singular ties, just feels irrelevant and pointless. RMC single rail is at least a single box track. This is just normal track with a plate spanning between the rails.
