Witnessing the closure of Toys R Us was one of the cruelest things in my lifetime I have seen.

I was glad the last thing I got was a lego Batman bling bag, but I still miss it.
I got stuff from my birthday there last or something.. wish I went there more often. Luckily it’s in Macy’s now, but it’s probably not as big..

Toys R Us closing was all but inevitable with the rise of Amazon and larger toy departments in places like Walmart and Target. Towards the end it was already quite different from the massive aisles lined with toys that most of us remembered as kids, and shifted to other things like partial Babies R Us stores.

They were doing just fine, actually, until acquired by an "investment firm". You see, the way those companies work is that they take a huge loan to buy the company, then saddle the company with the loan they took out to pay for it, and sell it off in pieces. People who do it should be jailed.

It’s all about iPads, iPhones, computers, & game systems now. Kids don’t seem to play with toys anymore and that’s sad.
Growing up in the 90s, I remember a lot of cool toys from Toys R Us. We had Skip It, Barbie Dolls with Barbie Dream House, Creepy Crawlers, Easy Bake Ovens, Swing Sets with a Slide, Bikes, Lego Maniac, Polly Pocket, Mighty Max, TMNT action figures, WWF wrestling set, Pizza Party Game, NES & SNES games, etc.
I miss those times. Once a Toys R Us Kid, always a Toys R Us kid. 😁

I can stll remember going into our Toys R Us store as a kid, and walking to the G.I. Joe section, and seeing the WALL of every 6" figure G.I. Joe had made! It had to have been 14 figures high by 10 figures wide!
