Sometimes drawing a straight line on material, is harder than you think!
    Loving this solution.

I ordered this ruler, it came this week. It is so easy to use, and there is a free pattern as a bonus

Such a nifty tool. It’s perfect for quilters. Since I’m not a true quilter but I do sew squares together to sew bags. I also sew blankets, baskets, and other projects. I would use this tool to poke out the corners inside bags and baskets. The long one would work great for tote bags and cross body bags or any thing that size. The short one would work great for smaller bags. One other thing it could be used for is checking the measurement before cutting on the bias with the 45 degree angle.
Thanks for sharing. Have a great week.

I have the shorter (older?) version of these and use them all the time! It's nice to have a skinny little ruler handy that fits in my pencil cup. Great tips, Laura!

You amaze me, Laura! You came up with several more uses for the ruler than it's intended purpose - which is always a win/win in my book! Love your creative mind :)

How far inside the line should you stitch, since you’ve added the thickness of the pen mark to the 1/4”. Even further from a scant quarter!

What about with quilting how does this help when a 1.4 inch adds up on each side when adding thread and ect ! How do you even use this ? When wouldn’t you use this where it’s not a scant ? Isn’t a scant about what makes it right or correct enough please ? The only scant quarter that I can find on the market sadly is this pink ruler I think a 3 way ruler I forget the name right off hand but it is sad that there are so many limited tools when it comes to this seam allowance ! Even more for new quilters not giving up on there blocks fitting together ! I know there a couple guides but this is only for setting the needle ! Now I know how you can take they say an index cars but let’s face it that’s intimidating to me ! Lol anyways the delivery is taking for ever but I have found one ruler I pray it truly works for marking the scant quarter inch on a seam it’s self so you can maybe sew over it ! I have also the student needle guide to set the needle but for when I can’t or don’t I’m hoping this helps ! If you have herd of any other tool please let me know ! Ty
