I was a 5 year old boy when Fess Parker first played Davy Crockett in 1954. I lived in Morristown TN where the real Davy Crockett lived from age 6 to 20 with his parents and family. Davy's father had a combination tavern and lodging house in Morristown on the new stage road for travelers headed from Abingdon VA to Knoxville TN. Fess Parker even came to Morristown's 1955 Centennial Celebration, and at age 6 I had my picture taken with him! A treasured memory!
Thanks for sharing this video. Fess was really handsome with lighter hair and even much older he still looked and talked like the hero he always was. I always admired the Boone family. Loved the Indian friend, Mingo, in that show. Great western show! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ 💯percent awesome show. / KGM
I had a coonskin cap when I was a kid when I was 10 years old. Did not realize David Crockett King of the Wild Frontier was such a short series I thought it lasted for a couple 3 years. I live in Santa Barbara UCSB the end of the sixties into 1970 my parents lived in Santa Barbara Goleta purchased a house in the late sixties lived there their whole lives familiar with Fess Parker's hotels.
A very good interview with a man I really liked and grew up with. I just wish the interviewer would have asked more about his role as Daniel Boone. Love that show, especially Daniel and Mingo together. I would've loved to hear more about Fess Parker's thoughts on working with Ed Ames.
Daniel boone became my hero when i was teen, and stills. now i am 55 years old then, still watching his videos. Everytime i watch i still learning how to be a good man.
Mr. Fess mentions Archie Bleyer , Arthur Godfrey"s old orchestra leader , and the head of Cadence records . One of the few times uncle Walt was out of his league with the Davy Crockett record deal .
fess parker a vida inteira eu sempre quis te conhecer e não consegui. Você foi o maior e melhor homem que já existiu mesmo de longe eu acompanhei uma parte da sua vida só espero que um dia Deus permita que eu lhe encontre ADEUS
