- We met up with our friend Lu again, who showed us around Beijing in our last video.
He takes us to Siji Mingfu. This was pretty much the best thing we have ever eaten, it was out of this world.
Massive thanks to Lu for this experience and helping us have the best time in China's capital city.

I h the ave only watched a few of your videos THIS would have to be your best so far ,in your first few in China you seemed a bit stand offish . You now are now seeing the real China and understanding it really is a nice place . I am Aussie and old enough to be your Grandfather, been to China many many time and hopefully many more. when you go home tell your friends ,show them how it really is ,remember the more of the world you see the more you will understand we are all the same .

This chinese guy is a legend. He really understands the taste buds of foreigner and gives them the best experience. Mr Lu really knows his stuff. His IQ and EQ is above average To have such EQ level, I bet Mr Lu has been exposed to both Chinese and Western education system. Only people who have both exposures will be able to see things so clearly. Beijing has so much more popular food but he chose the most suitable ones for his foreign guest based on their cultural background. Well done👍🏻

They'll like the warmer weather, but cantonese food is kind of boring, it's similar to the Chinese food they get in the West, most western chinese restaurants are cantonese style

I would say it's not 100% a budget thing. I enjoy the street food part better. It's always easy to get nice food in a fine restaurant but street food always comes with surprise,.

You guys should really visit Harbin, a city in the northeast. They have the annual ice festival and an entire city carved out of ice. This is once a year only in winter time.

Now you have tried the best roast duck from the north, you need to try the best roast goose from the south when you go there during CNY and compare. And by the way, you need to strategise on how to eat during CNY, as it goes on for a week at least for most people and it’s easy to get into food comas. 😂

Luoyang洛阳, Kaifeng开封, and Zhengzhou郑州, three of the eight most famous ancient capital cities are in Henan, where the whole China civilization originated. You gonna find the history, food, and all other cultural stuff are way more rich than anywhere in China
it's just 2 to 3 hrs train ride from Beijing, I dont know are you guys still in China right now. I can drive and show you guys around if you come, the three cities are very close together, so we can just drive around
I've been to this exact 四季民福 location in Beijing this winter too! it's near 东四十条. Definitely the best 北京烤鸭 I've had, great memories thanks for sharing.
北京烤鸭和顺德烤鹅甚至烤鸽子都是不同的菜系 ，各有优点。甚至在我的家乡新疆伊犁也有烤鸽子，各有优点。只要是刚烤出来的都好吃。各位不必纠结纠结。😅
北京烤鸭其实来源是朱元璋带过去的南京烤鸭，南京和芜湖这两个城市做的鸭子菜非常好吃

Definitely true. Every city I visited in China had it own unique dish(s) that was great. I couldn't eat any Chinese food for quite a while after coming back since everything here was disappointing compared to the food in China.

Because the fish meat is so soft, you can use a spoon to scoop and place it in your bowl to get a big mouthful of it. If not, it will take some time to finish the fish. Also, you guys should eat the food with rice because the blandness of the rice will soak up the rich taste of the food and just like yin and yang, when it blends together, it becomes balanced. Your enjoyment will be more complete.
I am hungry! Peking duck in Beijing is completely a different level from the Peking duck we have in the UK.

The bamboo forests and rural areas in the south are very simple ，the food is also richer and very suitable for living.
Different cities got totally different food in China even as they're adjacent to each other, that's because of the long history of these cities, food diversity in China is endless.
If you want to eat yummy Chinese food, you must go to Guangzhou.
this restaurant is my favorite one for Peking duck. I always miss the roasted lamp when I was staying abroad 😊

Might be too cold for them. You would need the warmest jacket, mittens and boots that you can find to go there at this time. I live in Canada so it’s not a problem for me , but to the Scottish, it seems like Beijing is already pretty cold.

a formal Chinese meal instead of street food, finally. The way food is prepared and eaten reveals the history and humanity of the country, and food is an integral part of the culture. A real Chinese meal is expensive but well worth it.

From what I remember (this was about six years ago) it wasn't expensive - certainly cost less than a comparable meal at a good Chinese restaurant in NY. The quality of the dishes in China are hard, if not impossible, to get here.

For Chinese food manners, it's impolite to pick up a piece of food from the serving dish and put it directly into your mouth. It's much more customary to put the food onto your own plate first (usually with shared serving chop sticks) and then later pick up the food from your own plate and place into your mouth. The filling of the "rolling donkey" looks like red bean paste.

他俩比较年轻，可能钱不太充足，属于穷游。虽说穷游也有穷游的好处，但日后可能也容易后悔大老远来中国一趟没有充分体验。
