I selfishly wish he would do an acoustic album and/or an album of old school pop (Little Anthony, the Delfonics). His voice is the living definition of talent.
I am a music buff and hail from a musical family and I have seen so many concerts of all musical genres and I can only think of two other artists that I enjoyed as much! On my 40th Birthday I had front row right under the mic… Chaka Khan. She was so good I didn’t even want to stay for the main act… Patty LaBelle. Bilal on my 50th and we share the same Birthday August 23rd😊and he had the same impact! He opened up for Sheila E and after his performance I didn’t need her to come out! In fact I was so engulfed that I forgot that there was a second act! I would never try and follow this genius! I left completely full and satisfied ❤❤❤
Why is he so underrated its just criminal hes one of the best this performance was amazing , i dont think he needed the backing singer though personly, also in 4k wow it looks stunning
I've seen him live without background singers and he still hits all those notes. I do think the background singer gives him the freedom to sing in spots he wouldn't have the luxury to otherwise. He's a genius regardless.
I've been lucky to been hip to him 99/00 as nrew Rpots member who killed his chorus on his 1st song 'THe Otherside". He used to do a 10-15min version of it to end Roots set an he'd start w/ his other hit an go off for 10mins than uaed to have 20-30mins of covers or whatever he wanted. Sas Roota got on Late Nate an peaces him out of touring Roots shows. I saw shows since his 1st solo lp in 01 dropped. I love Prince , D'angelo, an Bilal a wild cat. He'd get out there let his band jam & uae his voice as a weapon to feel his pain or a instrument. I saw him late 2019 in my state an 2 sets 3 hrs over. & in summer 2019 saw him at Yoshi's 4 sets. Waited a minute ro see him an closest was Blue Note Napa 4 shows. His band n his voice broke apart every piece of his og track "When Will You Call"! He luckily did that oddly in all 4 sets an all 4 diff an amazing. Sets 3+4he did switch aome aonga out. Why i dig him switching whatever out
One of the best video quality I've seen.. bilal is one of the most underrated male vocalist of our time.
