Hey Will, wanted to drop a tip for you. I am a journeyman maintenance technician and routinely have to take stuck nuts off of machines using the "blue wrench" (lol). When you are trying to do that, you should try heating it from just one spot as much as possible. When you heat the entire nut, that saturated heat will expand the whole nut like you are trying to achieve, but it also saturates the threads and will cause them to expand with the nut which is working against you. If you heat just one area, it expands the hole all over and saturates less of the threading with heat soak making it worlds easier to get nuts off. I spent many an hour doing exactly what you did until a senior technician showed me this trick, and now the "blue wrench" has never been a more effective tool in my arsenal. Great work man, keep it up!
Ads like that are just so effective. It didn't feel fake. It didn't seem scripted. It was just, "Hey, I like this stuff. This is how it works. See? Nice, right?"

I would like to recommend using a lavalier microphone, even one that plugs into your phone. It will be the cheapest and shortest route to good audio and will reduce the impact of the echo from the workshop on your voice. Keep up the work, man, I can't wait to see the growth and development of your channel.
I second this, Will! Love seeing your content; to make it even better a different audio setup is key! You can record voiceovers with the same clip-on mic and room audio the same way as before. There are good clip-on mics for relatively cheap, at least to hold you over for a while. The doggo cam was fun :) Also, I can tell the audio is normalized a lot better now! It's a big improvement. One trick is to apply a low-pass filter on the voiceovers to remove a bit of treble/hiss. Normalizing/compression can accentuate the hiss of some microphones. You can choose the cutoff frequency to taste.

Since watching you and Alec and other similar channels it amazes me how many machines and processes that are used today, and that most of us think of as 'modern' come from so far back in time... like I have no idea what I thought folks in the early 1900's or later were using, but for some reason I always thought the stuff you guys use was way more recent than that. That aside, nice to know that those old machines you managed to pick up are still good to go ( which is amazing in itself considering how much 'planned obsolescence' is a thing right now ) and being put to good use
I’m sure you are tired of fixing power hammers but it is one of my favorite series of videos you have done. I am hoping you can collaborate with Alec someday and bring back a Stelter vs. Steele again sometime too.

I have used that CRC Rust Converter(it was a different name back then) to paint an entire car to prevent the rust. IT WAS AWESOME. Never had rust problems again for the rest of the time I owned the vehicle. Basically turns the rust into fiber glass.

Dude im still having nightmares over the last one with alec. Please be very careful with this one
No pallets here so we are fine
@@smartgorilla Plus, Beaudry hammers are typically more base heavy than Fairbanks/Little Giant hammers. So less of a risk for it to tip over when properly moved, unless you deliberately try to make it tip.

I really like the aspect of your channel where you’re visiting other shops and blacksmiths
Watching them move power hammers around makes me anxious for some reason...
14:50 I think he was talking about something but my attention was elsewhere.
All jokes (and adorable pups) aside, the shop is shaping up. Can't wait to see what happens once its all in place and forging can really begin in force.
"Oh man thats a big nut, and its crusty too!"

I just about cried when i saw this on my recommended. I miss you bro. That hammer is like all of our baby.
Anyone else scared it will be broken.
It’s great to see you back on RUclips will
It weighs several tons, and yet I can't help feeling like it's fragile. Love watching this get restored, just dealing with the ptsd heh. Thanks for the Vid Will!
Will, so good to see you posting new vids again; I truly have missed watching you work your magic.
And I appreciate you leaving that black finish and patina on all the cast iron pieces that you've cleaned and refinished, it maintains it's 'character' and doesn't look like some painted up 'cartoon version' of what it's supposed to be like some others have done.
Looking forward to seeing you put that 'bad boy' to work, it looks like it could really move some steel.....
I have used that CRC Rust Converter(it was a different name back then) to paint an entire car to prevent the rust. IT WAS AWESOME. Never had rust problems again for the rest of the time I owned the vehicle. Basically turns the rust into fiber glass.
Great stuff Will. Nice to see a sponsor that is actualy part of this world. Not squarespace or shadow legends etc.
Will, loved the video - the intro, music choices, puns, you having fun and your humor and the relevant ad… don’t change any of that! One improvement would be the lighting situation. A few well placed led panels on stands would help loads in allowing us to better see what you’re showing. Keep up the great work!
loving the content, one thing I really love is seeing old equipment repaired and restored. the only thing I didn't love about this video was the audio leveling, but really well done, can't wait for more!
Something majestic and beautiful about big old machines!
Love the repair of all the old machines. Keep bringing old metal back to life!!
I was just watching the latest installment from Matt at Obsessed Garage on dry ice cleaning and I think projects like this are exactly what that method would be perfect for
Hi Will, loving the new channel and I am excited to see you branch out on your own. However, I will not be able to relax until that power hammer is securely bolted to the floor. Ah, the tension....
I was so happy when I found your channel. We all missed you!
I could just contunuously watch you restore hammers. Good stuff
Yep, doing it this way seems much more genuine than pushing razors, deodorant, or raid shadow legends. These products are thoroughly relevant to Will and to his audience, so everyone's a winner.
What a difference cleaning the hammer made; it looks fantastic and has probably doubled in value, even without the new rollers.
You , didn't do anything wrong. Good job and it's good to finally see you on the tube again
Good to see your making videos again. Great job ,running out to get Some CRC products for current project .Vise striking Anvil, stand . Hoping for that old school look.
Keep them coming. Looking forward to more .
I’m really happy to see you putting out more metal working equipment restoration videos!
Good job getting all that done safely. Don't forget to ventilate room when using solvents. I sure do like the way that rust converter turned out. Good job overall don't think you'll have any problem gaining multiple sponsors. Have fun, take care
So stoked to watch you get your shop together and save all of these old machines. Keep it coming Will!
I love how you are becoming a caretaker of historical equipment. Amazing work as always. And it was great to see Salem Straub. I loved the Kopesh he made on Forged in Fire
Congrats on getting the workshop, and great to see you breathe life into those awesome old machines!
I don’t know of you were serious in your comment about adhd there, but if you were, I am so happy to see you do your thing and succeed at it. I believe many who has adhd or add are really kids who has lots of energy and having are having a hard time adjusting to life. A physical job, like craftsmanship and maybe especially blacksmithing seems like a great way for kids with lots of energy, maybe with some trouble keeping focus, to thrive.
Doood! CRC Rust converter. Stuff is indispensable when doing frame restorations on old trucks. Love that stuff.
Good to see you making progress! FOR THE ALGORITHM!
For the ALGORITHMS!!! 👍👍👍
For the ALGORITHM!!!
I could have easily watched 45 min of Will content!!
The only thing you did wrong was not showing that longer video, I could watch you restore these old tools for hours. Good for you with the sponsor too, I bet setting up a new workshop and having to restore the tools takes a lot of time and money.
Nice video! I love that the sponsor was something you can actually use on the project that the video was about! 👍
Dude. Awesome in getting the sponsor. That coating does look pretty nice. Looking forward to seeing it finished and in use
