For the first part: try getting your squad leader to secure your squad a vehicle whenever possible and play the active objectives. For the second part: When you hear bullets snapping around you, listen for where the sound of gunfire is. Usually you're being shot from wherever the gunfire is loudest, but also if you keep your map open (press M, not caps lock or enter) then you can zoom in on your position as close as you might need, and then keep a general idea of where friendlies are. If you see you have friendlies North, South, and West of you - but you hear shots to the East - then you know you have enemies to the East.

OMG you know Slay3k?
Known him for a while now.
Helped him get into the Squad Partner program and helped with RUclips etc etc
He's a good egg
If you play modded. You get only more serious players for the game usually and less of the assholes. The modded servers are pretty ban and kick happy for rule breaking
Sls are important and all but personal skill is more important. Even on some servers with milsimmers one can be a reasonable one man army at times in terms of impact, let alone on newbie friendly servers. Peeps just don't get it these days since the initiative of a player is usually supressed, and that all in a videogame where the main goal is to win, what a joke...
I bought this game on sale and got a refund. I shouldn't have returned it.
