Bought a SIM used with punctures, maybe 20 ultra small once. You must use water and soap otherwise impossible. Repair kits are only for temporary fixes, but the God compound is "GearAid Seam Grip" (best 12 euros spent). Also fixed a leaking valve with it. Is a must have.
Hello, Lightweight inflatable mattresses never last very long. I think it is more interesting to use 2 mattresses, one sufficiently thick in a non-inflatable version as there are plenty of them and at relatively low prices. And the other one we sleep in must be a reasonably priced compromise with an average thermal index. If it punctures, you stay on a layer that ensures the minimum. It's like for clothes, prefer to use several layers, this allows you to do intermediate laundry and adapt the thickness. On the other hand, I do not recommend using these glues like the one you purchased. They are highly toxic, can cause heart damage and neurological problems or even cancer and when they are 'recycled', they end up in the incinerator and generate dioxins.
Hi, the problem with buying products based on other people's reviews is that you never know who is sponsored and for how long a product has been tested. Out initial idea was that we will be able to fix the mat when it gets punctured, this is why we ordered several patching kits from different companies. We never expected that is so hard to glue patches on this kind of nylon. This made us desperate to use any kind of products from local hardware stores like this harmful glue. I have my eyes set in the future for a Sea to Summit Comfort Plus mat, because it has this dual chamber technology (like 2 mats in one) and I was able to fix very easily punctures on their Ultralight models.
Not to judge you to want comforton bikepacking :) Well I think you dont have too much comfort I am bikepacking with 2 pillows for example one just simple air and second full on foam one, otherwise I cannot really sleep well. So it is normal to bring things that will allow you to rest properly.

I have not had very good luck with Big Agnes pads. They always sound great on paper and then I end up on the ground.
