Thank you so much for naming Eric Rudolph. If you ask anyone today "who bombed the 96 olympics?" They know the name of the falsely accused, but not the name of the perpetrator. The falsely accused innocent man's life was significantly shortened by this.
Another cold case that was solved was the one of Punky Gustafson. She was abducted, raped and murdered in 1992 at the age of 6 years old. Her case wasn't solved until 2005 when DNA matched from the crime scene with Clifford Sleigh. That case was featured on Unsolved Mysteries and A&E's Cold Case Files. It was a huge case in Edmonton. I was 12 when she was murdered and I remember the case. May that man rot in prison for the rest of his life.
Me too. I won't watch videos with AI voices or AI generated thumbnails. Actually, RUclips rules only allow AI if the creator labels the video as having AI content. Hardly anyone follows this rule; I've only seen ONE video that was labeled as having AI content.
Can you imagine being a murderer and having no one find out that you did it for decades? I honestly think that would make me go crazy. I wouldn’t be able to keep that a secret very successfully. I’d probably have a breakdown after a few years. But killing someone and then no one finding out that you did it for decades? You have to keep that secret for years. That would have to be just terrible on you mental health. Unless you truly are just a compete psychopath
Not having a nervous breakdown over _guilt_ is significantly easier when one has little to no conscience. As to having a breakdown because one is afraid of being caught, I definitely think the way things are going with DNA/ancestry technology, I'd be pretty worried if I had a skeleton in my closet. Now the passage of time offers little to no guarantee (or even probable assurance) of relief/safety from possible consequences.
If the colonizers came and moved a native Americans off of their land then why would it baffle them to find tools from 16000 years ago, as if there wasn't people on that land already.Of course. There's tools from sixteen thousand years ago because the people been there
i understand that it is impossible to name every single person on a case, but Michelle McNamara did a lot of heavy lifting in the Golden State Killer case and its horribly unfortunate that she passed before they caught him. you even show the interview with her husband but dont mention her at all. just something i have noticed a lot cncerning the GSK and it makes me sad.

"When it comes to these upcoming muder mysteries, just may have been delayed, but it was not denied." Matt, you're confusing "justice" with solving the crime. When a perpetrator dies before the person can be tried and convicted, that's absolutely justice denied. I'm glad DNA has at least provided a solution for families, but I cannot imagine how frustrating it must be for them to learn that the responsible person(s) lived a life of freedom for years or decades and then died without an arrest. Let's hope these advancement in DNA mean that happens less often going forward.
Too many details left out. Such as why the two men were ruled out in the laundry chute case. That one I have trouble accepting as accidental. I mean, how could that even happen? And why didn't the two Dalton boys get reported missing by their parents? Makes me think they were involved. I don't think you can can either of these solved.

So...I'm about 26 minutes into this Cold Case Mystery Marathon, and it's clear most (not all) of the stories, details, and resolutions were because of DNA testing. It would've been nice if you simply began all episodes with the phrase "Thanks to DNA Searches..." seeing as how that's how almost all of them were solved this way. Repeat, repeat, repeat, ad infinitum, seems to be the name of the game, here. I'm glad I can skip ahead of my own volition... Don't get me wrong, it's great that these mysteries are finally solved, but maybe try re-editing a bit better next time.

So, at 32:40 they say Gould was the culprit but he had passed and they tested his childrens DNA and found it was a match. In cases like this, where they finally solve a case decades later and the culprit is already deceased then the culprits eldest child should be charged. This way someone faves justice for their crimes and it gives the family real closure knowing that someone finally faced justice.
