When you go on your own I think it can be a bit harder to push yourself right to the front, when you’re with a mate or play with someone else you can push each other and it’s easier to switch that switch as you say to get yourselves to the front. When you play on your own I think it can be harder to do it as you don’t have someone to bounce of so you get so far and stall.

Great video to an interesting question. Hopefully each person gets what they want from their Airsoft day. As someone who turns up at different events on their own I always have a great time. I usually take a game or 2 to learn the maps and the link up with other groups who play in a similar way to me. We form a small “squad” and they are my Airsoft friends for the day.

Being an introvert myself, I found that wearing compression pants & shirt had a positive effect on my confidence & reduced anxiety.

as for my self i play defense for my team on scrim days and what not but thats because i have scoliosis and have issues moving sometimes start of the day im 6 foot 4 and by the end of it im around 6 foot so i shrink about 4 inchs but then i spend the next week laying down recovering from hurting so much/dont work because of my back so its a full week of layign down, but i still go out ill sometimes slowly walk up or slight jog depending how i feel but i want to make it so i can physically make it through the day and not have to much issue taking my stuff from the staging area back to the car about 400 feet, but i normally way at the bases flag for about 15 mins before i even see stuff but when they do come i normally take 12/20 players out before my team respawns and assists but i enjoy my self since i can listen to music or a audio book while i wait for the first bit while looking around and listening for movement but when im not at the base and i push they can grab the flag quite fast say if i went back to reload LOVE the sport though

Nice video. I agree with you about attitude. I am a bit older a bit fatter and abit slower than some players but I am almost always at the front. I die a lot.
I recall when I started airsoft and was using the rentals. having a maximum engagement range equal to the minimum of the 30+ snipers per team mant my 1st game day I didn't manage to shoot anyone. But I go to airsoft to chat to people and run around the woods and play war like a little kid. I go to have fun.

I can relate to this, confidence and attitude Defo play a big part especially if you’re lone dude. At some point you gota step out of your comfort zone n force yourself to push forward. During the course of any given skirmish due to the nature of respawning or just through movement you’re Gona find yourself tagging on to groups, making random teams to push/defended n everyone is Gona be at different levels skill & kit wise. Personally I just put my head behind my sight n go looking for work, if it’s with my team “cool”, if it’s with a random “cool”. During the course of any game your Gona talk to dude you just gota continue that of the field n before you know it your confidence and attitude will build n change.

I found my confidence to push had vanished post covid sadly. Going to take a while to come back.

Awesome video. Made me reflect on how I play now vs. back when I used to play at the old Phoenix site in 2000/2001 when I used to go every weekend.
Confidence and ability is definitely dull these days compared to when I played every weekend.
The ‘danger’ or fear of injury is more prominent in my mind now than when I was in my teens. Always hate that first hit of the day but after that the thought of it decreases.
Again I think that’s born out of playing way less than I used to.
Great to see this sort of analysis though and hope the person who wrote the email originally finds that spark again.

I find it funny, now you point it out, now I realise how hesitant people are with pushing up for the front line fight in a skirmish. I love larping and regularly wear 20kg worth if kit on game days, but yet still find myself running to the front even when people take the piss out of maybe for wearing so much kit... but like you say it's your confidence and attitude that counts at the end of the day. I don't say I'm an amazing airsofter, but I can get a number of player kills and I have a fucking ball of a time!

I have switched to playing mid-field. I am more effective and methodical in my actions. I have a greater ability to assess how the situation is unfolding and make course corrections. This switch happened after I got burned out with airsoft. I was to the point where I was taking the game to seriously and was not finding any fun in the sport, which is what initially drew me in. I was always getting upset by teammates and the lack of drive and intensity. When I finally realized it was me making it not fun, I adjusted my play style and I haven’t had a bad day on the field since. You get out of airsoft what you put into it. If you show up with an attitude your going to have a bad time. If you go in planning to just have a good time with a bunch of good dudes, you’ll almost always have a good time.

Good video that - so many people I used to see who won’t interact with any other person on their team. They’d stick by themselves or their friend they bring along. People just need small talk to link up with other people on that day, play as a team, ignore who’s got what kit and get stuck in. I miss the days of watching / playing cqb and seeing people pushing hard and having a laugh. Few names I won’t drop in but I found it great watching the 2 / 3 lads smash through the cqb site and it would just create mayhem for opposing teams as they’d be on the offensive 24/7! Keep the content coming love it 🤙🏼

Can be difficult when you go on your own and see groups all social and pushing each other etc.
But also sounds a bit like the person in question is getting a big stagnant. Maybe he needs to switch up game places, day types and maybe even play style? Going less frequently can also help push when you do go (for me anyway).

It has taken me far too long to watch this vid, but grateful that I had it in my watch later.
I play with a great group of mates but due to other life commitments it can be hard to get together but even just one of them can make the difference between a good day and a great day.
The group is very equally in their ability to play and field. I am the TM man of the group and always push them to run it but it is how they want to play. The banter makes a lot of the day though and without it there would be this very meaningless end to it all.
Before every game day you have to psych yourself up up, the same with your mates in your Whatsapp group, of FB page or even just down the pub. If I had a fucking pub near by to go to.
When it comes to ability, play how you want but socialise whether you're by yourself or with a group start talking to others in SZ or on the field.
Watching this and listening to some of the shit you have said has made me think on how I could improve or even just get a little bit more fun out of my day.
    Cheers.

I always go with the intention of pushing myself and getting in the action. But I’ve always struggled with the confidence in my ability to push up. Over the last 6 months I’ve worked on my fitness and flexibility to be able to take a knee quickly and move, and I’ve streamlined my kit to help.
Hopefully I can now build the confidence to not get frustrated. I’m a DMR and that doesn’t allow me to push close, but I’m gonna push myself for sure

    • @tommo9757
      @tommo9757 3 года назад +1

With a DMR, I find this works: Run with the front guys. When you see the other teams lead guys, stop and take them out. This allows your front guys to keep pushing. Catch up with your front guys, rinse, repeat. You're there to outreach the enemy and allow your guys to keep pushing. Just my 2 cents worth....

Attitude; it can't be bought, taught, gleamed from Instagram or gathered in any other way. It is down to the individual to motivate themselves and put in the effort in order to get a reward back, there are no free lunches in life!
That doesn't mean 'be all you can be' and go over the top but if you want to attend a game and have a good tear up you aren't going to do that sat at the back plinking, push up and get involved. Same if you're team is getting there arse kicked all day, you can sit at regen batching about it or you can keep pushing out and try smashing the opposition 🤷‍♂️
