Thank you very much. I had this exact error, and was able to follow your instructions to replace the part. Works perfectly. The part cost $45 compared to probably hundreds if I had to call a mechanic.
Thanks for the video. I had removed the door and dropped the backing plate in the machine so this helped me retrieve it without pulling the whole thing apart.

I’m having this issue with my fisher paykel dryer. I replaced the switch and still saying door open after three minutes of running any dry cycle. She works great except for reading the door as open when it’s not. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hi Washy, Congrats on the channel. Great productions values and very clear commentary, nice to have an Australian resource like this on RUclips! I need to remove my main PCB to resolder some surface mount LEDs that have failed (same machine as in this video). The service manual explains the removal clearly, EXCEPT how to remove the rotating control knob. Does this just pull off or is there a screw under the cosmetic chrome part of the knob? I'm reluctant to apply too much force without knowing for sure. Thanks.

Hi mate. Another great video. I have a question. Considering Haier now owns and manufacturers F&P, do you have any issues with Haier washing machines (i.e. are they as reliable as F&P). I note, many of the parts such as door gaskets, motors, bearing and tubs are same parts for Haier and F&P.

Hi thank you for your youtube channel. My washing mashing is a F&P washsmart, my machine keeps stopping it just turns itself off :( It use to say door open then no tap now it turns off, we had to replace the rubber, and it hasnt been the same since :(
Hi welcome. I think when you removed or reconnected the cables/connectors for door switch and also front facia they are not properly connected. Run through all your connectors and make sure everything is nice and tight
Hi I did this but having the same issue where there is no code but powers on lock light on 5 beeps every button you touch, my door opened and closed fine but I thought the machine must think it’s open so I replaced this part, have tried a lot of troubleshooting. Any ideas or you think mother board? Thankyou
The most confusing thing with this washing machine is the numbers dont count down in minutes.. its some other measurement of time. The mind boggles why it is not just measured in simple minutes. Can you tell me what one unit in time is worth with this washing machine?
If the motherboard is the issue is that easy to replace? Debating whether to go down that route or replace the whole machine. I will try the door switch option first.

Good job, mine got stuck shut but was still washing fine, this video and that pull tab saved me from ripping the door off by about 5 minutes 😂

welcome thanks. it pulls off. when you have the front plastic bit ( the one with all the cycles) You need to remove the screws on the back

on the software side I don't think its as good as fisher Paykel

There is also a model number sticker at the back on most fisher and paykel front loader washing machines

What if it washes fine but stays locked after washing? ive been using the emergency lock to open it.
Usually it takes a full minute to open after washing, mine has that as a safety feature.

When I removed door hinges on left - it sounded like something fell off inside the washer. Is that normal?
hi there is a metal clamp on the inside that acts like a washer with threads in it you need to reinstall it when you screw the door back in
