They should but it's unlikely. Wizards wants you to have to buy their product twice if you can't commit to a single "experience." Just the tip of the iceberg that is Wizards Greed.
They already do. There are plenty of codes from decks and preleases. WotC just did not know if implementation of brawl will be ready by the time of printing of this product
Prerelease had a booster pack. I gave mine away online as I like physical cards and commander. Glad I could buy mine online without needing to wait a week, pay an inflated price the collector's booster and brawl decks had, nor go to a tourney. Lol brawl wrong life that's funny. Not one to pay a ton extra for slightly better lands.
@John DiLoreto actually it is not available because WotC is thinking ahead. At the time of printing they did not know if implementation of brawl in Arena will be ready by the time of the product release.
After WotC dropped MSRP prices in germany have gone up by 20 to 30% and there are still no useful Arena-codes inside relevant products. I mean they brought Brawl into Arena, made a Brawl precon for tabletop and included NO CODES. I cant begin to describe how irritated I am by this BS. This is a "punishment"-level of consumer-friendliness
As of right now i cant find Brawl on Arena at the play-menu and cant challenge my fried for a match of it. To state they brought it to Arena would be false in my eyes and i hate WotC for it.
Dunno, I bought a set of Brawl Decks for 70€ from my LGS. So can't really see that price increase that much. And it's not a LGS that's that big. PS: Also Germany.
The price increase is real. At a distributor level in Europe the prices have goneup by 20%. Primary market product is ridiculously expensive now. I'm in the UK.
They also removed promos from magic open house, making it fully irrelevant as new players won't have anyone to help them when they try to get into magic. WOTC is greed beyond belief.
So I can understand why putting the temples and shock lands in this because of the card pool of brawl, but as stated WHY can these not be in the Commander Precons? Let's just say they only do it for dual color commanders, why not add that increase in mana base power and value? It's not like they don't put a ton of dual tapped lands in the precons anyways
Matthew Westmoreland yes that is true but I’f they put shocklands in commander decks new players might want to get into commander or maybe a standard player could buy it
I've been wondering this for years.... add to that the fact that this year they didn't even include lands that are exclusively played in commander (I'm thinking of the Battlebond multi-player lands) and that confusion grows even more. My only thought is that they know that when they've put staples for other formats into the Commander preconstructed decks that people who weren't interested in the format bought them out, making it harder for people who do play the format to get their hands on it. And those decks got resold online as 99 card decks with that one card taken out. That said, the mana bases in commander don't even need shock lands to see a dramatic increase in player value satisfaction. They could just as easily include lands like check lands or the Lorwyn filter lands, both of which have better playability than the life lands and guildgates, but lower financial value than shock lands.
@@imthatmysticgaming9341 same argument with brawl if they put some thing good in that people might buy it wow. A product that need to have buy power and appeal unheard of. Those pokemon gift box that put in 50-60 USD card must be a myth then
@@imthatmysticgaming9341 And why I have to pay 30-60 USD for a single (may be 2 if WotC feeling generous) shock land and very and I mean very small amount of standard legal card, if I were a standard exclusive player. That just would not make sense in any shape, form
Canadian here. Picked up one of each deck on release day at Wal-Mart, happened to get lucky, picked them up for $32 + tax each. LGS owner nearby said they picked up decks at Wal-Mart too just to later resell at 50 each. Now THAT'S scummy.
@@GoodRogue True!! Either way my D20 ain't gonna cut it. Actually..that might be the reason they put 40 life on the counter for a 20 life format, now that you mention it.
@@jonathanrobinson8926 They did that explicitly so it could be used for Commander as well. Of course such things never account for going over starting life totals.
I just joined the magic community! Been bingeing Tolarian videos and I love the content. I even uploaded my first booster box opening today. Can't wait to try out Commander.
Except for the Knight deck. Don't get me wrong, the commander itself is amazing and the deck has a ton of value but it is almost unplayable outside of the box against the other 3. It barely has any ramp or card advantage. Not to mention that the equipments that come in the deck are also very lackluster
@@caiolucas55 im hoping next expansion also adds some nice knights since eldraine added a bunch of knight synergy but unfortunetly not enough to be relevant
@@caiolucas55 It is a Brawl deck. Standard mana rocks suck compared to Commander mana rocks. This is why every deck comes with an Arcane Signet. It is the best they could do while making it Standard legal. Every Commander deck comes with Sol Ring. No way they can print Sol Ring into standard. That would break the format. The other 3 decks have green ramp or a cheap commander to make up for the lack of good mana rocks. The knight deck has neither. I think the deck would have done fine as a precon Commander deck, but as a Brawl deck it stood no chance.
Love your videos, Prof! They helped get me back into MtG after decades away, and your tutelage has been invaluable. Apologies, as a fellow English degree holder and editor-by-trade, I have to make a note... 2:55 on-screen text is "BNRAWL" rather than "BRAWL" ... apologies again, I can't help myself... Thanks again for all your hard work, Prof! With the volume of great stuff you release, you are allowed a typo now and then!
Your closing comments were extremely sobering. I love my lgs and see the need to support them. Thank you for your legitimate love for this, the greatest game.
Dave Martin I would argue that that diversity is not worth the loss of quality that has come with this new product. If it takes off, you can expect to continue to see mediocre commander products as Wizards tries to get you to buy into brawl again every standard rotation.
@@Narabedla4 In a game knights episode with these brawl decks one of the designers said that they included commander cards in the brawl decks to appeal to commander players. AKA: we put commander staples in brawl decks so ppl have to buy more of our jank to get the goodies. :)
So what you’re telling me is that these Brawl decks after release have the same or higher value of a $40 product but with cards commander players want. Oof wizard pleases
As a player who’s still on the fence about playing magic, I loved the sounds of the new set as I love fairy folk tales and the like. Found the faerie schemes deck and decided that was my favourite. Couldn’t find it anywhere, and when I did it was £37-£40 on average. Even the online stores had what few decks remained for £25. Went to a book store yesterday and found the faerie schemes deck for £21.50. Needless to say I picked it up as it’s worth it for me as something to tinker with and take apart for whatever I decide to do in future
You should also try Magic Arena if you're thinking of getting into Magic. It's a great version of digital Magic. You can play for free and learn the cards. 👍
This Product made me kind of upset, I shop almost exclusively for sealed product at my LGS for this product I had to order it from walmart for a decent price. My LGS was selling each of these precons for 60 bucks. Wizards need to bring back MSRP and fix supplies. After talking to 6 LGS's in New York i was told that all of them were only getting 2 sets of each of these decks, they were not even willing to presell them to me because of such low quantity.
I think... With the importance of game stores and with your constant support for the game store emphasis on your videos, you should try and do a video, talking about what brick & mortor stores can do to evolve with the new erra- from small to bigger stores-
I was really impressed by the closing of this video, and how this particular product can highlight some of the unique positions brick-and-mortar stores find themselves in as they supply gaming products and try to foster healthy gaming communities. I bought a pair of brawl precons at my preferred FLGS. They stock magic and run magic events, but it's not their core product and they sold each precon at $23. I went down the road about a mile to another FLGS that's almost entirely based on MTG to buy a few singleton cards as upgrades and saw they had the same precons at $40+ dollars. Thanks for a thoughtful video that thinks about our wallets, our experience, and the issues that shape this particular gaming community.
Really great video Prof. I'll add that the Brawl precons are fun 1v1, but they also appear to be fun in multiplayer. That's perfect to have available when friends come over and want to play a casual game - the Brawl decks can support one friend or many. I can't say the same about any of the other preconstructed decks. They are usually focused on 1v1 OR multiplayer.
I love this video. I love the research you did and your opinion about it. I was going to wait anyway for another print run, no way would I pay more than $30 for any of these decks. I don't really want to buy from Target or Walmart for $20.99, I need to check my LGS when they get them back in stock. I'm looking to buy Knight's Charge and either Korvold or Faires. Brawl is just bad, these will be new commander decks for me. With rotation, Brawl is in no way appealing to me at all.
Just do what my friends and I do. We enjoy commander but dislike the long games sometimes so we build set/block specific "brawl" decks. I have a set of 5 khans decks and we have alot of fun using them
Managed just this morning to get ahold of the 3 decks I had yet to purchase. Got them from Target online while they were running a promotion: $10 off $50 toys purchase (or $25 off $100). So I was able to get Faerie, Knights, and Chulane decks for a total of $55. I call that a win 🙌🏼
Any link/suggestions? Commander is something I'd like to get into, and had hopes for the Knight brawl deck but ended up playing Bant/Esper ones on MTGA while they were playable, as they just felt more consistent.
Alex1514 that’s a very general statement that misrepresents commander as a whole. When it comes to commander it really depends on the playgroups you run with. If you’re playing on cockatrice, untap.in, or mtgo that might be the case but in paper it’s all about location and playgroups as to whether the decks will be competitive
@Alex1514 that's incredibly false of a general statement. there are non-cEDH groups that are super competitive where you will lose if you don't play a top deck or a deck that breaks a top deck but by and large commander groups are pleasant to play with as its meant for fun. far from every EDH deck is "basically a cEDH deck" that's just laughable. the Knight deck with upgrades does fine in those groups
I wanted to buy one as a baseline for building a commander deck, and I pre-ordered from my LGS at a ridiculously good £60 for all four, split between myself and 3 friends. Then a week before release he only got allocated a couple of decks, none of which were the one I wanted, and prices have now sky-rocketed. Really bummed out by that.
My FLGS, Battlegrounds Games and Hobbies of Massachusetts, had them in stock and at the $21 mark. If you are in MA and live near Abbington, Norton, or Saugus give them a look if you haven't already.
Glad I was so lucky to pick up Savage Hunger and Wild Bounty for retail by chance! We like to play them like they are against each other, it's pretty fun! Thanks for the nice Review Mr Professor, love your Channel!
"This outcome that we are currently experiencing not only could have been predicted, but was possibly even desired by Wizards to drive sales to big box stores." What a disgusting, unethical business decision.
Great video as always Prof! Appreciate you always standing up for the LGSs and having such nuanced and communicative takes on things. It's a super small nitpick but I do wish you had mentioned the lack of tokens in the decks. It's a tiny ommision but I was hoping to just play with them out of the box and it was annoying having to scramble for a bunch of tokens at home while playing. For a precon I really only intend on gauntlet-ing a handful of times it's annoying to have to purchase tokens or improvise.
On day 1 for these my LGS had these for $60-$70 depending on deck and that was them trying to undercut the market where other stores nearby were charging as much as $90.
I pre-ordered the Esper deck from LGS for £18 which is a great price. A friend of mine pre-ordered one of each from an online "store" and had his order cancelled. Support your LGS when you can!
"Non-Brawl players?" You mean "Magic players?" :P Also, minor point: these decks did not come with tokens. Not a big deal but Alela was sad to learn that no blue faeries came along for the ride.
I gotta admit, the fact that it came with an ad card and not even one token for Alela, who literally makes tokens, made me way saltier than it should have
I'm not sure why so many players have it out for Brawl. The way I see it, it's just commander, but with a more reasonable card pool. Commander is "put every overpowered card you can find in a deck" and is very difficult to pick up for newer players, both due to a lack of historic card knowledge and price of entry. At least with Brawl you can adapt a standard deck, or use some of the more unusual cards you might have picked up at a draft.
That did bum me out way more than I expected. I don’t actually own a single non-rouge fairy token, so that sucked to learn. Just using birds right now but it’s bothering me far more than it should
Eggy Von Turbo brawl is a great place to start, no lie, but it has the same exact problem as standard; rotation. If it just used Arena format (historic I think? I just kept calling it gladiator) that would help, as at least critical components aren’t going to cycle away and leave you back at square one constantly.
I quit Magic a long time ago, but I just dont understand how current players arent pissed off beyond belief at them? Especially in this time out outrage? Seems like something thats really worth being outraged about....heh, id be pissed. Why dont you guys yell at WoTc for their apparent greed lately? am I missing something?
Lexender True, though I believe they have made some changes/additions to the printed decks with different cards (example: I don’t remember Sephara being in the Alela deck on Arena), so the argument one could make is that these are kinda different decks
Happy to have finally found this product this week in Canada, bought on Boxing day at my LGS with discount. In Canada mtg products like booster boxes are quite expensive and often rare (smaller market), so products like precons have great value. Play right away and tweak them. Commander is a popular format in Canada so this precon product helps to keep table top going. In Canada, we are not going to get much value by reselling singles, so fun is often the goal.
Touching shit, Prof. I live in Alaska, which is all pretty rural compared to any other State, and in my town whenever a 2nd shop tries to open up, it will eventually end with one of not both of the LGS's shutting down for good. But Wizards really shits on us up here because our population statewide is far less than a million people. We even got screwed out of PTQ's and even most of the PPTQs. When that happened a few years back, Magic really took a hit statewide
$15.98/ea at my Walmart, and I'm happy to say I got the last (at the time at least) decks for Faerie and Knights', at my local Walmart that is. My first MTG purchase in 20yrs, only wish there was an online code ..
I went to my LGS on release day and picked up 1 deck ($35, limit 1 per customer, South FL). Then went to 3 Wal-Mart stores to find nothing but empty display boxes priced at $20.98, Then I called my mom in Richmond VA to check out her local Wal-Marts and she was able to find me the other 3 decks for a $15.98 each. WOW !
I'm fully satisfied by this product, I wanted Alela's deck, several days before release I saw they were like ~28€ on Magic CardMarket, so I was a bit afraid it would be something like ~30€ at my LGS, but I was surprised when I saw my LGS sold it 21€ a deck. I don't play arena so I have nothing to complain ^^
Another great video Professor! Thorough as always. This inspires us to not neglect local game stores who carry our products in the future. Oh, and to provide digital codes with physical products if/when we have a digital version of Axiom.
My wife and I bought Savage Hunger (mine) and Knight's Charge (hers) from our local game store for around $20 each. I turned them both to commander decks so we could enter the commander tourney at the store. They gave me a good base to start. More so that I gotten back in and had not played sense 2001.
I agree with you about the msrp and brawl buzz, but i feel like those precons also deserve more praise for how fun and well built they are. I've never had so much fun with a precon as with the alela one, and my friends often tell me similar stuff about the other decks aswell.
I was really keen on Knight's Charge, as knights have captured my attention and have always wanted to build a commander deck around them. For a bit, my local store couldn't sell me the product, as that precon sold out quick and they wanted to keep sets together. They had people arriving at the door looking to buy them out of their precons for markups. The owner held back because he wanted to make sure his customers that wanted them got them, and eventually he managed to sell me the Knight's Charge at near to MSRP. Couldn't be more thankful for an amazing local game store, who cares for customers despite the circumstances he gets put into.
Ty kindly professor for sharing this video and helping me decide which deck to try. I always watch you and the game knights play and love learning magic. Keep up the awesome work.
I have life-long discount in my FLGS (for spending a lot of money there over the years), and they had those decks cheap even without that. So I had to pay only 15$ per deck. At that price, for me, they are solid A+.
From what I heard from my LGS, they were forced to put in their pre-order for the product before it was announced what would be in them. This in turn likely resulted in a small initial print run. So, a WotC bungle, but not a malicious plan to under print.
For what it's worth, stores almost always pre order before the contents of a product are released, it was likely the public lack of interest before the contents were shown that led to the low first print run
Just wanted to shout out Wizard's Asylum in Norman, OK. They are my local game store, and were doing what prof was talking about there at the end. They had some of the brawl decks, limited to one per person, and were selling them for $24. They are great.
It really frustrated me that he said Chulane was the best prebuilt deck. He is no doubt the best new commander out of the 4, but data shows that Alela is far superior to the rest in terms of out of the box power and balance.
This is cool but for the love of God can we have consistent products. 😅 I feel like with each new set something gets dropped and something new is added.
My LGS had some in stock at slightly inflated prices (around $25 converted from Malaysian Ringgit), but the owner advised me to wait before buying as there will be a reprint coming, and prices are likely to fall then. After watching this video, I'll probably go and buy a pack from him just to show my support for his honesty.
Instead of using the paper tokens from sets I just use old sleeves with a cool paper in them and a dry erase marker. I can easily write on the sleeve what the creature is along with its power and toughness
I personally have already bought the alela and chulane deck for myself and korvald for my brother but may buy the knight deck just to turn into a commander since I do have two circles of loyalty i probably won't really use anywhere else so may as well put one to use where the cost will get reduced
This is why I argue against the professors support your local LGS BS. IMO cash is king above everything, and the cheaper product, of the same quality, is the best one. No matter the effect to the businesses. Because at the end of the day, businesses including LGS, are just trying to make money.
Well for me I bough this after not having a magic deck for a long time. Watched the decks in the command zone and fell in love with the style. Honestly happy with how it plays an the fact that I can use this.
While i most certainly do appreciate your analysis as always, I find it hilarious that Jimmy Wong piloted the best deck and was the first to lose and JLK piloted the worst deck and beat everyone at the table during the game knights episode.
Politics happens. At least on Game Knights. Whenever I play commander, there is rarely any successful politics. While I don’t think Game Knights is rigged, I do think there is probably an understanding that this is a show and having someone get wiped out in the first few turns is bad for the episode. Josh could have been crushed early, but he gave the other players an excuse to let him live, so they did.
@@InitialT-tm- even without politics. If someone starts turn 1 sol ring into a rock, they're gonna get targeted. Or if someone gets a strong value engine (chulane for example) going, people are going to interact with said value engine.
Jordan Albee true. I never said they were wrong to come out early against Jimmy. But there was also an opportunity to let Josh be purged early and yet he got bailed out for somewhat spurious reasons.
Syr Gwyn is what I used to beat down opponents during the MTG:A pre-release Brawl event. I tried Alela, but it was slow, and didn't seem to flow well, and maybe a bit short on control for being so slow. I figure this isn't completely accurate on their actual power levels, but I think Syr Gwyn can be very strong, and Alela can be very confusing.
Great video as always! Thanks prof, will wait for the next print drop to come. Will be picking up the Wild Bounty deck and then most likely will upgrade it to the commander format.
So wizards refuses to print a good Mana base for the commander pre-constructed decks, but they shove a shock land and a scry land in each of these deck. Ok
Thank you for doing this video! I was on the ropes for picking these up, my LGS was selling these for $50... And TCG player was selling them for $40ish. So I do intend to hold out now till they are reprinted. I never knew the "MSRP" was supposed to be $20.99, I thought it would be closer to $30. So again thank you for the as always great info and advice.
I haven't checked one of my LGS, But two of my LGS have them for 24.99 and 22.00 respectively. I then bought 2 of the knights charge from each so I could finally try out standard. Plus a box from each which helped out
Thanks for the review, Professor! After watching Game Knights showcase these new Brawl decks, myself and my play group have been discussing them and planning ways to beef them up into Commander, but we were confused when we couldn’t find them available anywhere (not even at Walmart or Target). We are looking forward to when we can actually play them ourselves.
And the likelihood, that if you really don't want to get these brawl decks but rather the collector edition of Eldraine then you can still get these Brawl cards, which I say its more harder and more expensive. Personally I'd say that getting the Brawl decks are better as you get more of the standard cards in those decks.
It's a little tiresome to hear all the time that LGS have no blame on anything and the WoTC is always wrong everytime not everything go perfectly. Everyone was always saying that brawl is stupid, that no one play it, and that they will never play it. When the brawl product was annouced everyone said "lol WoTC stop trying brawl is dead". And so they of course did a low print of the product, like with the first commander product. It's a new thing, they don't want to print more than they need. But now everyone is buying them because the price of the cards justifies it! Congratulations, all MTG products are at least worth their price in cards, you knew that already. And yes, LGS are to blame for the price increase. They are just working with the supply/demand in mind. They are not making pay more to "barely survive the winter", they are doing so to make more money because they can. It's a buisness, just like WoTC. But still, good review prof, I just wanted to give another point of view on that point.
Gautier B. Your point might be valid if WotC was expecting consumers to purchase these product exclusively for Brawl play. But WotC, despite their greed, are not stupid. They KNOW commander players will clamour for this product. They included a spin down life counter that goes to 40 for crying out loud! I reject, outright, the claim that WotC limited print runs of the product due to their perception of low demand.
I agree. People buy from Walmart because Walmart doesn't jack up the price of precons based on the individual card value. I want to get a couple of of Brawl decks but local shops are charging ~$20CAD more than the USD conversion from $20.99. Walmart will sell them much cheaper. Sorry, LGS.
Watches this video while laughing in European My game store has like 20 of these and sells them for 25 euros each. Also arcane signet is like 5 euros here
No gamestop, no target and no walmart in my area had brawl decks at all day one, I heard that in gamestop and target the employees bought the decks for themselves and ebayed them leaving none for the customers.
Now I have a theory of why we get no codes for arena. These will be the welcome decks when brawl officially drops in arena. And everyone will get them free in arena and would piss off players who bought the decks expecting their codes would be exclusive to the decks.
I was lucky enough to pick mine up from Wal-Mart for $20.99 pretty early on Friday. At that price, it was absolutely worth it. I got Chulane and Alela, but I was really considering just getting all 4, but decided to leave the rest for some lucky others. Also I stand by my speculation on Tome of Legends. Its a rare that's only in the Chulane deck, but it is an incredible draw engine that I think is being absolutely overlooked.
I'm in NZ and I picked up the Korvold and Chulane ones from my local EB Games for $30 NZD each ($18.88 USD) so I would say I got an absolutely fantastic deal for mine. They weren't even on sale or anything, that was just the standard price

@@GoodRogue True!! Either way my D20 ain't gonna cut it.
Actually..that might be the reason they put 40 life on the counter for a 20 life format, now that you mention it.

I just joined the magic community! Been bingeing Tolarian videos and I love the content. I even uploaded my first booster box opening today. Can't wait to try out Commander.
Melissa did a great job designing these.
@@caiolucas55
It is a Brawl deck.
@@caiolucas55 well, if you play it right you could win. (Looking at you Josh-Lee-kwai, the madman!)
@AD asd Maybe the randos on Arena just are bad at Magic, but when they were doing Brawl on Arena I went like 6-2 with the Knight deck.
BNRAWL is just how that word is spelt. Much like "circuitous" is actually pronounced like the prof. did. Don't believe the dictionaries.
BNRAWL is the ancient Gaelic spelling.
Your closing comments were extremely sobering. I love my lgs and see the need to support them. Thank you for your legitimate love for this, the greatest game.
So gross. They didnt even print guild signets in Commander 2019, then print Arcane Signet a month later. So damn greedy wtf.
A diversity of products is acceptable imho.
Dave Martin I would argue that that diversity is not worth the loss of quality that has come with this new product. If it takes off, you can expect to continue to see mediocre commander products as Wizards tries to get you to buy into brawl again every standard rotation.
I want wizards to make lots of money. That way they will continue making lots of cards in the future.

Target, walmart and gamestop have them for 21.99 each.
Faerie Schemes Brawl Deck costs around $40 at 5 local stores here :(
@@OF24com I got it from walmart for $20
I bought my Walmart out of them because I love them. I currently just play them with my family
No cards that EDH players want??? The hell? Arcane Signet?? Not to mention others...
Good job wotc, you made a good brawl deck, with Great reprints.
Now go do that for the millions of commander players
This Product made me kind of upset, I shop almost exclusively for sealed product at my LGS for this product I had to order it from walmart for a decent price. My LGS was selling each of these precons for 60 bucks. Wizards need to bring back MSRP and fix supplies. After talking to 6 LGS's in New York i was told that all of them were only getting 2 sets of each of these decks, they were not even willing to presell them to me because of such low quantity.
and this is why I have stopped playing magic. and Im a new player
Thats a rip off at your lgs
I hope it's only a one time problem because they don't know how the new product is seen
60?! Time to find a new LGS
Reprint into the dirt. Bring arcane signet down to $2 like sol ring and command tower, where it should be.
If you're curious about why so many of these are marked up from that $20, that's the price that most distributors sold it to local game stores.
Comparing the card values from them to today a year later, is crazy.
I have a set of 5 khans decks and we have alot of fun using them
@@fate3071 I kinda like that idea. Just make brawl decks out of blocks. Did you include the core set(s) that were out during that block?

Managed just this morning to get ahold of the 3 decks I had yet to purchase. Got them from Target online while they were running a promotion: $10 off $50 toys purchase (or $25 off $100). So I was able to get Faerie, Knights, and Chulane decks for a total of $55. I call that a win 🙌🏼
Just so you know, being a worker at an LGS, the real "MSRP" on this product based on what they charge us for it is $19.99. Just chiming in!
Wow. One of a billion reasons I boycott Arena so far
Thank you for the information 😊
I got the full set for $77 and all my shops had them at $25 on release date so I'd say they're 100% worth it (as long as you get them under $30)
The knight deck is really good with EDH upgrades though
@Alex1514 I mean sure, if you bring syr gwyn to a cedh table..
Alex1514 what’s your source for this? I’d love to see the data
Many magic the gathering players ask the question... why doesn’t the professor get his vision checked so he actually does see us there
Yeah, might be time for him to get some glasses!
My FLGS, Battlegrounds Games and Hobbies of Massachusetts, had them in stock and at the $21 mark. If you are in MA and live near Abbington, Norton, or Saugus give them a look if you haven't already.
I ended up having to get mine at Walmart, but my LGS sold them for $25 before they quickly sold out. Fortunate to have a great store nearby
But it worked. WotC is the company making out well.
2:57 ah yes my favorite new format, Bnrawl.
Just joking, great video as always prof!
I am HIGLY likely to buy the Chulane deck for that sweet bant value!
It’s a fun deck to play . Very easy to win if Untap once or twice with Chulane!
I see what you did there.
Goodluck with that lol. They've already been bought out by everyone so you can't find very many of them around already.
Heh noticed that too did ya?
Chulane will prob be my commander of choice for a while and my fav brawl cmamder is Alena because fliers is fun as hell
I pre-ordered the Esper deck from LGS for £18 which is a great price.
A friend of mine pre-ordered one of each from an online "store" and had his order cancelled. Support your LGS when you can!
"Non-Brawl players?" You mean "Magic players?" :P
Also, minor point: these decks did not come with tokens. Not a big deal but Alela was sad to learn that no blue faeries came along for the ride.
I gotta admit, the fact that it came with an ad card and not even one token for Alela, who literally makes tokens, made me way saltier than it should have
Seriously? I did not know this. That's bullshit.
Wizards incompetence aside the brawl decks were FANTASTICALLY designed. Much more thematic than this years commander set.
Just goes to show that Del Toro (I believe that is her last name) is a much better designer than Verhey (boo, hiss, rotten fruit)...
The lack of communication about them from Wizards is disheartening.
I quit Magic a long time ago, but I just dont understand how current players arent pissed off beyond belief at them? Especially in this time out outrage?

For commander ones they do. My Kalamax deck came with all of the tokens
I agree with you about the msrp and brawl buzz, but i feel like those precons also deserve more praise for how fun and well built they are. I've never had so much fun with a precon as with the alela one, and my friends often tell me similar stuff about the other decks aswell.
Easily found these at my GameStop for $20.99
If you have a bullmoose they go for 18
Same! I got the last two they had, but unfortunately no Chulane :'(
Ethan Large I got 3 and they were out of the same one

No.
Now watch the video anyway to support the Prof, cuz he's the man.
Just wanted to shout out Wizard's Asylum in Norman, OK. They are my local game store, and were doing what prof was talking about there at the end. They had some of the brawl decks, limited to one per person, and were selling them for $24. They are great.
If you see the data from magic arena, Alela is the best deck.
But everyone agrees that the knight deck has a trash mana base, draw or ramp.
It really frustrated me that he said Chulane was the best prebuilt deck. He is no doubt the best new commander out of the 4, but data shows that Alela is far superior to the rest in terms of out of the box power and balance.
The last two minutes is strong and true stuff. Thanks Professor!
This is cool but for the love of God can we have consistent products. 😅 I feel like with each new set something gets dropped and something new is added.
Wizards new strategy in most things seems to be absolute chaos.

Literally unplayable considering it does not come with tokens
Instead of using the paper tokens from sets I just use old sleeves with a cool paper in them and a dry erase marker. I can easily write on the sleeve what the creature is along with its power and toughness

I personally have already bought the alela and chulane deck for myself and korvald for my brother but may buy the knight deck just to turn into a commander since I do have two circles of loyalty i probably won't really use anywhere else so may as well put one to use where the cost will get reduced
It makes it real hard for me to support my LGS this time around when Wal Mart is selling these precons for half the price 😔
Right? Though the Jund deck almost won and was pretty resilient
Just goes to show the variance that happens in multiplayer games, people with strong starts/effects will get targeted by 2-3 people
Politics happens.
Buying a 60 card deck for similar prices as I can get some 100 card decks seems bad, regardless of whats in them.

Many magic the gathering players ask the question, did wizards purposefully kill their commander product to move the market towards their new format?
I already respected the Professor, but this video really cements that he is a stand up person looking out for the community. Fantastic video!
I would have Loved a French version of these decks. We can't have these new legendaries in other languages and that's a shame...
Sorry, LGS.
Gotta love the BNRAWL decks 2:48 but the fact the prices are HIGLY likely to plummet in value 4:20 is devastating!

Also I stand by my speculation on Tome of Legends. Its a rare that's only in the Chulane deck, but it is an incredible draw engine that I think is being absolutely overlooked.
