they did say they are in talks with sony and mricrosoft to give discounts to people who own it now digitally so who know. not sure if you remember but they did give a discount to people who owned minecraft and where to buy the newer version on ps4/ xbox one it was like $5 to buy if you had it on ps3/360 so its possibly.

Hey, small note, the old console versions had a ton of skin packs like walking dead/telltale game collabs, so hopefully the dlc will be similar to that!
they have said that the game will be $45 usd on release and discontinue the current version on console and are in talks with Sony and Microsoft about giving a discount to people that have it now digitally. cross play will not be out on 1.0 release but they have said the connection works now across pc,ps5 and series x but have said they are waiting on certification to allow it. and release is suppose to be around june for pc with consoles in july if plans go well as with modding support for them IF it doesn't impact performance (so probably not).
personally it is kinda off putting to see that if i wanted to get back to it on console have to pay probably $55(not in us) and even though they said that updates will release about same time as pc its kinda hard to trust since the takes they had on console previously.

Since they are removing the old console version from game pass, I’m hopeful the new version will be a day one release on there.
They already said it won't be on GamePass for a longer time now. Maybe in far future but not for release
Its amazing that in the decade of development, their idea hasnt been taken and made by a bigger studio. The concept is amazing. The game and the devs are mediocre at best. And now its an old game.
the problem is TFP keep changing what the game is supposed to be. originally it was supposed to be a cross between fallout 3 and minecraft. then it became a cross between an elderscrolls game and minecraft. and now it's copying idk what with it's learn by looting system(rust maybe? idk, never played it).

I still play this game on the PS4. I'm looking forward to an update but there are little things I'll miss from the old version e.g the demonic noises at night. My understanding is these aren't in the PC version. Silly thing to mention in all this i know 😂
I love this game and am realy happy its coming out of early access, but i have to agree the way theyve handled the console version is fucking dirty, expecting you guys to pay through the nose for half a game is completely sick and dropping support for the legacy version is almost criminal! Hard to feel any goodwill for the fun pimps here.
I quite literally preordered the game months before it came out on console because of how much I liked the game from videos I watched. Then they decided to quit updating the game after the first year or two, which was super lame but I continued playing every now and again waiting for updates. Now the ACTUAL game that I’ve been watching pc players play, is going to be locked behind a separate paywall. If they would’ve announced this way earlier on it might not have been as bad, but having your fans wait for an update that seems it’s never gonna come only to tell they have to pay for it is super scummy.
In their defense it wasn't by choice, Iron Galaxy was responsible for console version and they were working under Telltale Games (The Publisher) once Telltale went bankrupt, they still owned the publishing rights (again for the console verson) in an interview with Neebs Gaming some of the employees from TFP said they had to buy the rights back for the console version (which who knows how much that might have cost them)
16 million copies sold as of 2024 according to the Fun Pimps.
At this point it would be better if they rolled it back 2-3 years and then released it, before they relocated the navezgane traders and before they completely messed up the tech tree.
I love the new gaming sphere we have now. Either we buy a game in early access for cheap, and hope it turns into a good game. Or, we wait a year or two after said game is fully released to get a major discount. Yes that's sarcasm.

It should be a free download for those who own the original release. They knew that console players would pay again, because the wait has been so long, and so much anticipation has been built up.

It's not up to them on how much the discount is. That's on the platform to decide for themselves. So for example of Sony and Microsoft was like no, we don't want you to have a deal, then it sucks to be us.

I'm still playing the console version let's say once every two years for around 100-150 hours. But without a discount for the "new" game, I'd rather wait another 2 or 3 years before buying it for a lower price, just to not feel like a happy camping fool

The problem with this game and the only problem that I could see is that the owners are too hell. Bent on asset asset asset. Spend way too much time. On making something look pretty when you're gonna blow it up and don't care about the actual gameplay of how it crashes, it doesn't save your data. I'm just here. I'm gonna tell you right now that I don't care if I get the updated version of this game on console for free. I don't want it. I'm not putting it on my counsel. I've been playing skyrim since it came out and the trader's lips move and everything. And they did that back during watch. This game will never be as good as skyrim. Put it this way. I would rather play 5 hours a day. Skyrim legendary in 2 hours, with my granddaughter, playing Minecraft on Split screen and I can't stand Split screen. Then playing 41 minute on the new version of seven days to crash

@padmad3832 well Joel was playing 7 days showing gamers the new alpha on pc.He did that quite often prior to updates before dev streaming followed by streamers weekend.I watched his content on YT since 2015

I can't even imagine playing this game on consoles without mods. What a boring unsatisfying experience which pretty much sums up consoles in general.
The game should be free for players that bought the early access. Yes I understand that the devs need money to make things happen but its utter bs that fans that played the game since day one of eaely release have to pay anything, all of us gave those devs the knowledge they needed to polish up this really bugged out game from our gameplays. We are all technically beta testers that out our hearts into the old game theyre axing. I say axing because once this new version drops, the old game we firmly knew is gone.

the game has a couple hours of content if you play with friends. the gameplay loop makes no sense, you don't even build a base and just put random chests in the open for storing loot. even minecraft is better survival game lol.
I bought it for the Xbox1, MD5's killed that. Brought it on PC, prefer overhaul versions Joke mod, wild west, district zero, Darkness Falls, Vanilla is boring compared with them, Honestly they lost me as a console player I won't be paying for it again.
Nah, I'll pay the price, it takes a lot of money to develop a game, and sustain the developers. I love the game, the road map are just updated for more content. Idk why people keep saying it's incomplete, better to get it now than wait another 2 years for a "complete game"

45$ is too much for this game. I would pay for only 45$ for UE5.4 remastered 7days to Die.
Lets face it, Consoles will never be as good as PC and PC versions shouldn't be reduced to console levels.
With thousands of hours of entertainment, I have got my money's worth hundreds of times over. Whatever their price it is worth it.
PC version is where it is at, with mods this game is 1000x more fun. So many gun pack mods, zombie type mods, vehicle pack mods, etc etc.

I was really upset about the way the console was treated so I too boycotted it. Not very happy about how long it took but I was really enjoying what they had even with the crap from bugs. That being said I think if it doesn't come to game pass I might buy it for Christmas or if they do a sale before then. love the game but the dev's are idiots. how can you sell an early access and then dump it to sell the 1.0 as a separate game. boohoo they outsourced the console dev and it didn't work, they got back the license for the console and that should include the debt owed to the purchasers of the original early access version. Its a dangerous precedent to accept that a studio can just dump their early access and then sell the completed game for money again because their business model sucked. That being said ill happily buy dlc if it means more content then the drip content they typically supply as i do enjoy the pc game. Always thought it was stupid they set the business model how they did and figured they would have to run out of money at some point. There's a reason why successful game studios don't operate 10+ year early access cycles.

Being on console I'm sure you paid for plenty of AAA trash for $70+ but you want to complain about spending $45+ on a title from an indie company that has spent 12 plus years creating a title that people want.
Sure, the development hasn't always been the best but the title is still unique and good. The console version has always been a struggle for them. Most PC games that have console versions are typically worse and more expensive..
I myself would like the see a good console version be published but, You can't complain about the price when you get it. It's not outrageous or anything.
Another note, at least they didn't go down the V rising route.. Another great game but they were charging people for DLC's WHILE IN EARLY ACCESS then they price hiked the game & now console is getting it the same way 7 Days is getting pushed out.

even on pc you expect alpha/ early access games to be done in relative manner, project zomboid has never changed the min requirements for there game in ea over 10 years, fun pimps have, its not fair to release a product and expect people having to upgrade to carry on playing, make asequel or give free upgrade, now same thing goes for console version, its massive lie that console ports cant handle it on older gen, so many game shave managed to run, 7 days isnt rocket science, if you can get witcher on switch you should be able to get a10 year old game on xbox one, space engeers and so many otehr more taxing games run on older gen but i conced at this point they struggle
the way pimps treated fans has historically been bad, dismissing console players left right an center, they never explored a final update to resolve the many crashes older version still has that delete all progress (md6 bug), if they managed to do that and few more qol then people would maybe lighten up

@@JadePGSurvival I don't blindly defend anything, Admittedly I thought they lost complete rights to the original version of the game. So, I will take that L. The L's I won't take is stating if you purchase an EA ( Early Access) game then you shouldn't have to ever upgrade hardware to play it throughout development. in 7 Days to die's case.. it needed a graphics upgrade. I wouldn't enjoy the game as much as I do if it looked the same as it did when it launched.
Tech advances very quickly.. Weather we agree with it or not.. That's just how it is. H*ll, The biggest reason I'm excited for 1.0 is cause they're FINALLY optimizing the game! Again with the pricing.. It launched originally as a PC game. 7 Days to Die is a PC game. Like many other PC games that have been ported to consoles.. It's going to lack features & you're going to pay more for it. It's the GREED of the Sony & Microsoft store fronts to blame MORE than the devs on that point. As for the lacking features, That's more on the hardware side.. The Ps5 and Series X are closest to PC than ever power wise.. But, They're still LIMITED CONSOLES. Don't like it? Don't buy the game on the console & play it on PC.
I own a lot of consoles, Modern gen & older gen systems. I would never want to play 7 Days To Die on my Ps5 or Series X. As for your point on the Witcher 3 on the Switch as a comparison point.. That's a contradiction to what you're standing for here.. It was WAY more expensive on the Switch, Looked & performed WORSE to. Did you make a whole video moaning about that? Doubt it.
To be fair, I can't stand the way the industry is now. I wish we could go back in time at least 10, 15 years. H*ll, Maybe more. But, I will take the W where we get them. Right now the AA & indie market are shining bright. The AAA & Well, Ubisoft's AAAA market is biting the dust. The devs behind 7 Days have come a long way & have done a great job. The console players are getting what they want. A 7 Days to Die that is about in line with the PC version. Yet, You guys still b*tch, Moan and complain cause It's not FREE, Or the price isn't right enough for you.. Then you get on games like CoD & Fortnite & glorify the skin market by spending $100's of dollars. There is no pleasing the console players.

I bought this POS game about a year ago on ps store. Total scam. The screenshots they were using aren't even in the game (probably from the pc version). The PS version is terrible. Everything's foggy with silhouettes for zombies and pitch black indoors even if it's sunny outside. Anything other than a massive discount and they can gtf. This new version doesn't even look that great either 🤔
