Guys, If you watch this movie, it will become your favorite western, guaranteed. The ending is epic, musically and film-wise. It's my mom's all time favorite song and will be played at her funeral.
In the film, each character has their own musical theme. The first song in this video is the theme of Charles Bronson (Man with a Harmonica), the second is the theme of Jason Robards (Farewell to Cheyenne), the third is the theme of Claudia Cardinale (Jill). You should listen to "Yuor Love" sung by Dulce Pontes which is the sung version of the third song. Using the video with the scenes from the film so you can fall in love with Claudia Cardinale.
The sung version is beautiful, but I vastly prefer the version by Jackie Evancho. Pontes is good but has an edge to it where Jackie's voice soars and gives the number the haunting quality to match the hummed version from the movie score by Edda Dell'Orso. The combination of those two versions is what I requested here previously.
Hi guys. The reason, why the filming quality, production etc. of this and other conserts by DNSO are so good are because, they where recorded for television. The orchestra is a part of Denmark's Radio. It's our taxfunded public service radio and television channel in Denmark. So All the artist are payed by all of us Danish taxpayers. 😀😀🇩🇰 We also have a DR Bigband and a DR Girlchoir= Danmarks Radio Pigekor
Absolutely beautiful. Tuva is a mezzo soprano which is one step down from the highest soprano which you heard in The Good The Bad and the Ugly soundtrack. Thank you so much for playing this AND for not cutting in so much which breaks up the flow of the music. Just wonderful guys. Thanks again. 💜
Metallica, opened their 1991 Concert in Moscow Russia with :The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" graveyard music :"Ecstasy of Gold" with 1.6 Million people attending the concert and the Rock Band "Muse" opened a few of their concerts with "Man with the Harmonica"
Incredible is the word!! It's almost like watching the movie. This movie is the Gone With the Wind of westerns. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly theme by this orchestra was awesome too. Each character in this movie has their own music 🎵🎵. Thanks for playing this.
The greatest western of them all!!!! And this includes the other Leone films which are also great, but this one is yet at a higher level. These themes you are hearing belong to each of the four main characters in the film, and at the end there is also one for the west itself! It blends with the one for the woman since she comes to represent the change and settlement of the land as the types of characters in the film are fading away rapidly. You really should watch and react to the film itself. You two are so insightful and I believe watching this would be amazing!!!! This film also has the greatest opening ever for a film and so many classic lines through out.
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra or DR Symfoniorkestret is the official orchestra of Denmark's Radio (DR), the first national Danish radio-and TV broadcasting company. They have their own concert hall in the building of. DR, and I believe that's where this is recorded. So cameras and equipment only have to be brought into the concert hall at these events, from storage areas. Hence the high quality. The orchestra performs weekly, but I believe they also perform in other concert halls in Copenhagen. They also performs around Denmark and internationally.
Enjoyed your comments guys! This is a great orchestra. If you get a chance, listen to So Hyang from South Korea, especially singing "You Raise Me Up". Blessings.
Mimi Laustsen - We are definitely going to do The Godfather! We are big fans of the genre - we love Good Fellas and the Irishmen and all time favorite Breaking Bad.
@@reactioninaction7415 Thank you so much for your feedback. I look forward to more reaction from you👍Greetings from Denmark and one who have experienced this orchestra live several times ☺🇩🇰
It's great that you Gents are helping to keep the importance of this magnificent music alive. If you haven't, please make it a priority to see both Once Upon a Time in the West and The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. Honestly to merely applaud them as great westerns is in my opinion a disservice as I believe them (along with all of Maestro Leone's films) to be Masterworks of Cinema. As to this rendition, for me, compared to Maestro Morricone's original film version it's almost amateur hour. Edda Dell' Orso's unmatched vocals insured that no other version of this magnificent piece would be its equal.
The production and camera work is awesome because DR's National Orchestra is the Orchestra for the national tv and radio broadcasting. Just like BBC. DR stands for Danish Radio. 😊😊
Let me recommend another Ennio Morrricone: "Lontano" (much similar to the main theme of this soundtrack, but without the voice). And also "Gabriel's Oboe"
This was so great! :) Would love to hear you react to Taxi Driver, Blade Runner, Interstellar Suite or their Gaming Legacy Medley from the same orchestra.
Tuva Semmingsen is from Sweeden and the conductor, Sarah Hicks, is a guest conductor for these western movie theme performances. Her home orchestra is in Minneapolis. Also notice that Tuva's earrings are tiny pistols. The orchestra members are encouraged to wear items pertaining to the theme of whatever performance they may be doing.
The first two Clint Eastwood-Sergio Leone westerns (filmed in Spain & Italy) were low budget. But The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, (also starred Eli Wallach & Lee Van Cleef) and Once Upon a Time In the West," (was loaded with big names -- Claudia Cardinale, Charles Bronson, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards, Lionel Stander, & former John Wayne actors Jack Elam & Woody Strode). Not low budget with names like that. Look at the sets they had in those films. The authenticity & detail. And don't forget Leone had to convince Henry Fonda to play a heel in the film. Not a hero. A cold-blooded villain who killed children. Fonda originally turned the role down but Fonda was impressed with what Leone had done for Clint Eastwood's career. Leone also had Ennio Morricone for all the music every time. I do agree that the spaghetti western knock-offs were low budget but many did have name European stars: Klaus Kinski, Franco Nero, Terrance Stamp -- not exactly cheap actors at that time. You two gave an excellent assessment. And the Danish National Symphony? What a world-class orchestra they are.
Just your friendly reminder that Ennio Morricone was born and raised in an ancient Rome's district, couldn't speak maybe more that two english words and still he was capable of writing probably the most iconic music pieces about the whole western saga. Music is really the best thing.
the real soundtrack starts earlier. while the men wait for the train. 5 minutes of just sounds, the noise of the wind, the creaking wheel, etc.go and review the first few minutes of the film.
Great reaction guys to this epic movie score. The Aria was wonderful. Ms Semmingsen "nails it!" If you want a different but equally beautiful performance of this aria go to Andre Rieu's performance featuring Carla Maffioletti. It is absolutely stunning. She reaches notes with her voice that are unbelievable. Thanks for the post. Peace & Long Life to you and yours.
Filmed in mostly Spain I believe. A film about the American West. Italian director and composer with a variety of different speaking supporting actors with the 3 Main American stars.
Danish symphony orchestra; do Leias Theme, Interstellar, Bladerunner, Pink panther. But their traditionals are good as well. Also not forget the DR Choirs, perhaps try Double Trouble.
Ok The reason it sounds WAY better then the sound track from the movie was because they didn't have a huge budget for any of the "spaghetti movies, but Ennio Morricone was such a great composer. He made some of the best, and most lasting music ever made with a shoe string budget.
just came across your channel and though a year old, if you search the DNSO there is an entire start to finish night of this concert which includes The Good,Bad and Ugly. hence why the hanging man is still there.
I found it on Amazon Prime and watched the first few minutes. The shots looked incredible at the abandoned Train station. I'll prob watch it this weekend. Run time was two long on Wednesday for me to watch it.
The Amercan marker made out Eastwood was playing the same character, when in fact he wasn't. He also had a name in each film, the man with no name myth was created by the American distributors...
Great commentary on the greatest soundtrack of the greatest movie ever made. DISCLAIMER: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. How can anything be better than that? I don't know. Irresistible force and immovable object. A dead heat. An impossible choice. OUATITW by a photon only.
The Danish National Symphony Orchestra puts on a night of movie sound tracks this one was western night. They do them by movie theme, ganster, comedy and love. Spagette Westerns were titled because they were made in Italy for way less than in America with in the beginning very cheesy acting but where Clint chiseled his acting skills before coming back to America.
If you want to go in a different direction with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra, try looking up the medley from their gaming themed concert from 2018: "Gaming Legacy Medley" (formerly "Troldspejlet Legacy Medley") And yes, this piece was performed on the same night as the other one. These themed concerts go for about two hours. Personally, I have tickets for the second sci-fi themed concert they're doing in August.
The spaghetti westrerns are very well known in america. In fact, in this particular film the actor who played the villian was none other than Henry Fonda who was famous for playing "nice guys", this role was his "breaking bad" role so to speak. Watch the movie you'll see what i mean, beacuae what his character did in this movie was hella cold!
Hi guys, if you love this kind of music you should check out: "The Halo Trilogy", "The Mandalorien", "Star Trek", "Highlander - Who wants to live forever". All excellent pieces of music - mass production of goose bumps... WORTH SEEING AND LISTENING TO !

Sorry i can't agree. In my opinion "The Ecstasy of Gold" is his masterpiece.
