Escalante, Utah- Your next Utah destination!

Do NOT skip this town during your Utah visit. It's not part of the Big 5, but it has so many incredible spots surrounding it, you'll want to come back for more! We spent four days playing, relaxing, and exploring. Here are all the incredible spots we saw.
- Camped at Calf Creek Campground
Located right by the trail to Calf Creek Falls, this campground is incredible! It is first come, first serve, and worth the work to get a spot! We got to the campground at 7 am on a Wednesday looking for available spots. We lucked out and found one and snagged it for the week. No guarantees with this campground, but worth a try!
* It will be closed for two months starting in July of 2024 for maintenance and updates , but will be open come the Fall, per the reports online.
-Calf Creek Lower Falls hike
6.1 miles Round Trip. The Falls are absolutely stunning! Start early in the day to avoid the heat and crowds, but the payout by the falls is worth it. We stayed at least an hour letting the kids play in the sand and relax. A Must see!
- Peekaboo & Spooky Slot Canyons
Experience this 6.1-mile loop trail near Escalante, Utah. Generally considered a challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. Be prepared to climb up over and through many sections of the canyon. An amazing slot canyon!
Devils Garden The perfect playground for your kids. Located off of Hole in the Rock Road. Hoodoos, arches and many figures perfect for exploring!
Escalante Natural Bridge
Beautiful hike to a stunning Natural bridge. 4.4 miles and takes you through multiple river crossings. Be prepared for wet feet and mosquitos but an absolutely beautiful area to explore.
