      I've heard interviews before from people who have experienced it and then learned more about it by talking to the police or even the swatters. In certain communities where swatting is fairly common, they will have certain keywords they use to make the police act faster and to be as on guard and violent as possible, they'll say things like "I have a weapon and I'm not afraid to shoot police"
      I've heard a call recording of a swatting and the person was acting like they were crazy and they were sobbing while on the phone, at the same time as they were threatening to shoot everyone in the house, any police that approached then themselves. Sometimes it's "I just shot x person, I'm calling to turn myself in" then they pretend to be overwhelmed by guilt and go crazy and start threating to shoot themselves and anyone who approches. So, a school I go to was swatted recently. I'm gonna tell you all exactly how it went and the results:
    It was a normal morning when suddenly the lockdown lights and alert began playing in the school, forcing all students into a code red. Students outside the school were running away and backing off, while students inside were scrambling. I, thankfully, was outside when this happened, and was stopped by peers yelling at me to get my attention, then telling me about the code red. Even then, police were everywhere along with helicopters. Everyone made it out safely, but it was still very traumatizing for everyone inside and out. SWAT teams in the building had guns ready in their hands as they entered classrooms and hallways searching for shooters, telling everyone to put their hands up. Meanwhile outside were parents and countless police cars surrounding the perimeter.
    The reason people who swat streamers can likely get away with this is because if they're smart they have many ways to avoid getting caught. This instance, it was a caller from the other side of the country who called 911. I won't list what they did to hide their tracks for the reason of not wanting swat wannabes to use the same method, but know that it was essentially untraceable. They do this as a cruel prank and have ways to get away with it, or at least make tracking them down hell.
    If you, by any chance, happen to be a person who has swatted someone, you are human scum who should be trampled on, and forgotten by your family, name erased from time. It's not funny, it isn't entertaining. It's scary. It's vile. It's horrible to experience.

    I hate how it’s not taken more seriously. Not only do these calls waste resources but it endangers lives. I’m glad the state I live in has laws in place for swatting(I don’t think any streamer live in my state one big case from my state was Dahmer), but they need a revamp since swatting is happening more and more prominent.
    It’s the people who call that are the problem.
    They are traceable. When 911 is called we get a gps location of where the call came from (most of the time) or we get a signal of which cell phone tower it pinged on. These people shouldn’t get away with this just because they think no face no case.
    It’s also sad because it’s protocol for the police to take every call seriously especially when the people making the swat calls claim that there are guns and bombs. They don’t want a situation like the boy who cried wolf which is why they need to take into account that maybe this time it might be true.
    I believe swatting in my state is a misdemeanor along with having to pay the fines of paying back all the resources that was used for a false call. If sentence and given a forfeiture. Not only criminal court but streamers can counter sue in civil court as well.

      Not really, swat teams are specialized units tasked with handling the more dangerous cases. • @HappyNBoy
      @HappyNBoy Год назад +4

      @@rainphantom7024 yeah, except that those cases are few and far between, and that team can be called in after initial response once it's been confirmed that they're working on good Intel. Instead, every local police agency thinks they're made up of 15 John Rambos, and they'll pile in the SWAT van and bust down the door someplace with an anonymous tip. That they're equipped to respond is not the issue, that they're socialized and militarized to the point that they consider a no-knock SWATing of a private residence based on next to nothing... That's a HUGE issue.

    I don‘t understand the satisfaction that swatters get from doing this, because they can‘t actually witness the swatting. To them the only difference is that the streamer now has PTSD and is tired as hell. If somebody needs to exert their dominance in this twisted way, you can bet your arse they don‘t have any other way of doing it, so they just release their pent up rage on the only victims they can abuse.
