Thanks for the video. It was very helpful. I hadn’t thought of making a concentrated solution. But why are there 2 bottles? Why can’t you put it all together in one bottle?
You're welcome! Happy to share. Concentrated solution shouldn't be combined as it will result to nutrient lock. The plants will have an imbalance nutrient absorption. I hope this helps. Keep growing! 🌱🙂
Good job. I was concerned for while until I noticed you were not premixing the calcium nitrate with rest of the nutrients. If you don't mind, how did you determine the concentrate for each nutrient? I've considered doing the same, but Masterblend only gives maximum solubility at 3.5 lbs. per gallon. Premixing Masterblend and Magnesium Sulfate would affect the contraction amounts.
Is this for strawberries, cumberers, onions, or marigolds? All plants have different needs. In the early stages, some want more nitrogen, then when flowering then more potassium or phosphates?
What plants are you using this mixture on? I've used a mix of equal parts of Master Blend to Calcium Nitrate to 1/2 of Epsom salt (12-12-6 per 5 gallons), that seems to work well.
I use them with leafy and fruiting plants. The reason I made a liquid stock/concentrated solution is the convenience of not having to scale/weigh each time I refill. This can be done on the standard ratio as well NPK 120g-CN 120g-ES 60g. But for this solution CN is increase by additional 50%. Since CN is a rich source of nitrogen it’s best recommended for growing leafy green as they love nitrogen. 🌱😊
This video is so informative and helpful, yet I have a question, in case of not having an access to calcium nitrate, can I substitute it for calcium oxide?
Thanks a lot Healing Hobbies for all the information and formula. I did the dissolve method of the 120 gs of NPK in 250ml of distilled water. It does not dissolve totally as it does in your video. I am left with about 2 inches of the NPK powder and the color of the liquid is dark green. Do you might know what I did wrong? Thanks a lot for any help.
You're welcome🌱. Just couple of questions, are you using the same NPK (Masterblend)? If other brands, is it water soluble? Did you use warm water? if it's water soluble maybe the water wasn't warm enough. It'll take time to dissolve and will require vigorously shaking the formula. If solid particles are still present. I suggest add another 250ml of hot water not boiling hot, but hot enough not to burn you. This will make your concentrated Solution A of 1000ml. You will have Solution A (1000ml) Solution B (500ml). Your new dilution ratio for every 1 liter of water is ( 5ml of Solution A and 2.5ml of Solution B) I hope this helps and Keep growing!🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies thank you for the advice. I use the same Masterblend you use. However, the water was only at room temperature. I noticed the water got cold when I added the Masterblend. Those are the NPK ratio (Nitrogen=4%, Phosphorus 18% and Potassium 38%). Yes you can use this solution for growing tomatoes. (3ml to 3.5ml per liter of water). This masterblend ratio is actually design for tomato formula. You can also use the powder ratio NPK 12g, Calcium Nitrate 12g and Epsom salt 10g for 5 gallons of water. I hope this helps. @@healinghobbies Should I replace this solution at regular intervals? or Only one time is it okey?
It varies depending on the plant, system, and reservoir. For instance, lettuce grown using the kratky method typically requires up to 2.5 liters of nutrient solution until harvest, while fruit plants such as tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and cucumbers grown in 5-gallon buckets require regular refilling and replacement of nutrient solution. Refilling, typically starts 4-6 weeks after seedling transplant, and at least twice a week once the plant begins flowering and bearing fruit. To avoid drowning the plants, it's important to leave a 2-inch gap from the top of the root when refilling to allow air roots to grow. Throughout the growing period, it's advisable to clean the buckets and replace the nutrient solution at least twice, or when necessary. I hope this helps! Keep growing!🌱🙂

This is just the video I'm looking for. I'm tired of weighing every time I need more solution. I'm just a little confused on how much mL is needed for 5 gallons of water.
The ratio for this solution is 2 : 1 : 2.5. Standard ratio is 2 : 1 : 2. This solution is recommend for leafy greens since leafy veggies love high nitrogen. I added 50% more of CN to increase the nitrogen content. CN is also a nitrogen source. I hope it helps.🌱🙂
I am interested in making a herb garden. What would the nutrient formula be, please? I need to know the chemicals and their quantities because commercial ready made mixes are too expensive to ship here. I need to make my own mix locally. Many thanks
Sorry, I wish I could be more of help but I haven't tried this method and I do not want to provide you with inaccurate info. Please keep browsing around other videos. I'm sure some has already done this process. 🙂
You're welcome! Happy to share. I use the same ratio throughout the entire growing period up to harvest. If you are referring to the nutrient level. There are various factors: the system type, reservoir size, and climate season. For instance, in summer, moisture tends to evaporate quickly, which can affect the nutrient solution requirements. In the Kratky method, for fruiting plants like tomato, a good rule of thumb is to refill the reservoir when the nutrient level drops to a minimum of 2-3 inches. With leafy greens, if you have an adequate size of reservoir, refill is not necessary. Example a head of lettuce can consume at least 1.5L-2L of nutrients up to harvest. However, with systems that use pumps, it's important to ensure that the reservoir is not completely emptied during nutrient circulation, as this can hinder plant growth and potentially damage the pump. I hope this helps!🌱🙂

The 1.5L-2L was merely an approx. and an example especially with Kratky method. However, with the use of NFT, it can vary based on factors such as pump runtime hours and evaporation. In my case, I have a small semi-NFT system (similar to DFT system) with 108 plants and a 5-gallon reservoir. The pump runs for 5 minutes every hour. I usually refill the reservoir once every two weeks in the spring, but during the summer, I may need to refill it once a week or more often, depending on the need. Therefore, I refill the reservoir when necessary. My short response would be to refill the reservoir when needed.🌱🙂

I have the same scale but I have to be very careful as it is not calibrated and whatever it displays is really half the actual weight! If it displays 6grams the actual weight is 12grams. I found about it after checking it with 7 grams lead weight pieces.
This concrete/solution is catered for hydroponics use. Though still can be used in soil however I have not done any experiment on it yet to support the result.

Hello I have a question, when we talk about traditional soil culivation, we need nitrifying (or more) soil bacteria and fungus that live in symbiosis with the plants to be grown, is this the same for hydroponic and aeroponic method ? can we totally make the vegetable growing without these bacteria and fungusthat transform nutrients ?
(sorry for my bad English) The form of nutrient for hydroponic different than nutrient for traditional soil For example : NPK , nitrogen is mainly provided in three forms: as ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) or ammonia (NH3), or/and urea (H2NCONH2) which is need time to release the kinectic energy to be absorb by the roots of plant (but not as long as time for bacteria to decomposed organic materials in the soil) While in Hydroponics solution they use nitrate for Nitrogen , which roots can most rapidly absorb nitrate in the zone (the side effect is if there is too much nitrate then the leaves will be easily burn). I also have a question for content creator for the effectiveness using NPK for hydroponics solution according to what I wrote above. While about soil bacteria/ fungus/ microbacteria ... it is different "world" , they break down/ decomposed any organic material in the soil/ compost/ etc. So we dont need that bacteria/ fungus/ microbacteria in the hydroponics. That's also the reason why hydroponics is effective for short living plants like pak choy, lettuce, tomattoes etc, because in hydroponics they got direct and easily absorbed nutrition, while for long lasting plants like citrus, guava, etc the plants can "wait" for the bacteria/ fungus to decomposed the material in the soil. Can we totally make the vegetable growing without these bacteria and fungusthat transform nutrients ? YES
Can you explain why you startup the weight, than put the cup and do the zero again? If you go like this, put the cup on it, startup the tool, it is at zero. The masterblend is 4-18-38 but you mention 14-18-38. 2 mistakes in the first seconds of the video.

Your new dilution ratio for every 1 liter of water is 5ml instead of 2.5ml. I hope this helps and Keep growing!🌱🙂
Sir, while mixing concetration u r showing as 7x of 5ml what is means it we thing it is 5 ml only or what please clarify.
It's wonderful! Thank you!
You’re welcome! Happy to share 🌱😊
is the masterblend nessecary or can i use a different type of npk
Other NPK should work fine, just follow the manufacturer recommended ration of dilution and preferably water soluble. Hope this helps! 🌱😊
How long we can store this solution
How does it work without correct PH? I burnt many of plants when PH was going out of ideal range after some days. So, I left doing hydroponics.
Galing naman
I have the same scale but I have to be very careful as it is not calibrated and whatever it displays is really half the actual weight! If it displays 6grams the actual weight is 12grams. I found about it after checking it with 7 grams lead weight pieces.
Brother, can I use this solution to my capsicum plant?
Hello..thanks for the video.. What if my npk mixture has no micronutrients? Shoul i add it solution A or B?
Your welcome. Happy to share. It should be in Solution A. Keep growing1🌱🙂
Sorry... I forgot to ask the quantity of micronutrients... Could you please tell???
I would suggest to follow the manufacturers guide on the ratio each brand differs. 🌱😊
Very good video I subscribe you sir❤❤❤❤🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰
You share useful, DIY Hydroponic Nutrient Solution at Home
Thank You!🙂
با درود و خسته نباشید
روی بسته بندی کود نوشته 4-18-38 و شما در توضیحات نوشتید 14-18-38 فکر کنم اشتباه تایپی بوده اصلاح بفرمایید
Thanks for sharing 🙏❤️👍
Subscribed. Very informative. Thank you
can this be used for soil? also, why not just use the master blend?
This concrete/solution is catered for hydroponics use. Though still can be used in soil however I have not done any experiment on it yet to support the result.
Nice video, san po nakaka ili ganyan weighing scale. Subscribed.
Thank you 😊 available po siya sa mga online store. Digital weighing scale
Pano po ma order ganitong kulay sana gusto ko pasok ba sa lettuce yan
A good video. But I want to know if it is organic. Can you form an organic solution.
Thank you! It's not organic solution. I tried and experimented using ready made water soluble organic fertilizer but I am the pleased with the result. In my experience organic fertilizer perform best in my soil garden. 🌱🙂
Is water motor is must for this hydroponic systems?
Not necessarily. A method like kratky does not require any pump or electricity to grow plants. Most of my set up are in kratky method. You can check some of my video samples. I've grown leafy greens, tomatoes, eggplant, cucumber and watermelon.🌱🙂
What is the mixed nutrient for the micro baby and large leaves?
He told for good more than 4 leaves, if else, use half of the strenght solution. Be careful, good luck
How long can you keep the AB solution for? Thank you! Subscribed.
i think this depends on water , thats why we should use distilled to make it pure and last longer
Thank you so much.
You're welcome! Happy to share🌱🙂
How do i make concentration i can add directly to small hydroponic like 24 oz size?
This is already a concentrated solution. What are you trying to grow? If leafy greens. I suggest dilute 2.5ml of A&B solution to 1 liter of water then you can use it to fill your 24oz growing container . Keep the rest for later refill.
(sorry for my bad English)
The form of nutrient for hydroponic different than nutrient for traditional soil
For example : NPK , nitrogen is mainly provided in three forms: as ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3) or ammonia (NH3), or/and urea (H2NCONH2) which is need time to release the kinectic energy to be absorb by the roots of plant (but not as long as time for bacteria to decomposed organic materials in the soil)
While in Hydroponics solution they use nitrate for Nitrogen , which roots can most rapidly absorb nitrate in the zone (the side effect is if there is too much nitrate then the leaves will be easily burn).
YES
It's does not need any micronutrients solution??
No the master blend kit is a complete formula containing all essential micro and macro nutrients
Can you explain why you startup the weight, than put the cup and do the zero again? If you go like this, put the cup on it, startup the tool, it is at zero. The masterblend is 4-18-38 but you mention 14-18-38. 2 mistakes in the first seconds of the video.
Maybe you can add micro nutrient too.
A, B hydroponic solution 500 ml. Chahiye ji, price kitna?
Can I use it in a aeroponic tower?
Yes you can! and any other type of hydroponic system 🌱🙂
@@healinghobbies oh thankyou for your reply
I am a begginer and buying nutrients is expensive
I am looking forward to do my aeroponic tower practical with your nutrients
What about the ppm of water? Does that also matter? Like booring water has tds of 700-1400 it contains natural ca and mg ions?
That is too high to start, I would suggest use rain water or tap water. Use water with at least below 100ppm to start. My ppm base water (without nutrient) average is between 50-65ppm.
Why didn't you use EDDAH Iron or chelated Iron on your mix?
It’s already included in my NPK which is Masterblend . It’s a complete NPK mix including minerals like iron, manganese, zinc etc needed by the plants.🌱😊
@@healinghobbies! That's good to know!! Thanks!
@@healinghobbies oh! That's great! I'll try using that next time. I also noticed at 3:00 that the NPK is 14 instead of 4
@@papicoco5069 You're welcome! Happy to share🌱☺
@@papicoco5069 Thank you for spotting this! I'll make a note on the description it's a typo error. You're right it should be 4-18-38🌱🙂
How does the nutrient solution get back to the upper reservoir ?
Thanks alot but I have one question?
You’re welcome! Happy to share. What is the question?
hello new subs here. is it also possible to use the masterblend npk 4-18-38 tomato formula only? cause here in our place thats the only available
Hi, can I use CAN as cannot get hold of Calcium Nitrate.
Crush eggshells and add vinegar. 1 part shells to 10 part vintage. Scrape the foam off and you have calcium
Can i use it for soil based farming, using drip irrigation??
Hi Mosshak, thank you for watching. I haven’t try this formula for drip system in soil based farming. That would be an interesting experiment to try. In the past, I did use it to water my soil base tomatoes at least 1-2x a month
@@healinghobbies hi thanks for your reply. If you use it 1 or 2 times to soil based tomato plant..how is the result. Pls share your experience.
We had plenty of harvest however it wasn’t a full and dedicated experiment for this formula. So, I cannot provide a concise information and credit the result to it.
@@healinghobbies I understand. Thank you anyway. I will wait for future video.
@@MosshakBinJalal Thanks a lot Mosshak.
Hello, it's a great video but I have one question, why didn't you added micro nutrients ?
Thank you🌱. Masterblend is already complete with micro nutrients.
Thank you ☺️
What if I used other brand of npk like 20-20-20 would it be ok for the lettuce plant? Your new subscriber👍
If no other sources available. You can try as long as it’s water soluble and follow the recommended ratio from the manufacturer. Though, the result may vary and you may not get the optimal growth.
@@healinghobbies thank you ❤️❤️
You’re welcome! Happy New Year and Keep growing!🌱😊
Hi just want to ask if where can i get those nutrient sulotion. Specially the power house calcium nitrate. Thank you.
Subscriber:from Philippines
Available po siya sa lazada or shopee. Not necessarily power grow na calcium nitrate. Pwede po any brand bsta water soluble siya. Then yung epsom salt meron sa mga drug store bsta plain lang po pede na. Meron kc mga scented na epsom salt. I hope this helps. Salamat po! 🌱🙂
All vegetables a b nutrient sir please reply
Yes this can be used in all vegetables. However you should follow their specific PPM requirement per individual plants. This link usually I use as a guide. www.homehydrosystems.com/ph_tds_ppm/ph_vegetables_page.html.
