This is one of the most beautiful renditions I've ever heard. I often listen to classical music on the radio while driving to work. I've heard piano and harp versions respectively, but never a duet. The cello adds a lot. Stringed instruments truly do pull at your heartstrings.
1:54 the sound of the cello on this part is ethereal. I don't cry when I listen to music but that sound created an immediate reaction, that was just beautiful.
Their inspirational performance invites me into the wonderful and marvelous world of comfort This is the masterpiece of Debussy's aesthetics . I am only intoxicated with their incomparable performance . From chaotic Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun
Beautiful interpretation! Appropriately used as a gentle exiting of the day's dramas as I gather myself to perform my evening meditations. My hat is off to both artists-performers, and of course to M. Debussy.
Love it! One of the most beautiful pieces ever written and such a wonderful performance. I will play this video over and over so you will have to take that into account when you look at your number of views.
The besstist "Clair de Lune" tune Eye did eva earr. Please do "Beau Soir"! Just the 2 of you. Inna yoar owna style offa coarse. Izont da Cello soo amazing Georgie bro? Peace ana
George Durham, I found your videos thanks to this song. It's wonderful! I really love this song! But I would ask you to do a remake of a song by Linkin Park. The ones you did Metallica were amazing! Please, do something with some music of Linkin Park. I suggest the "Final Masquerade". Is a beautiful song. :)
TY 4 reply George. Maybe you can't hear the brassiness at peaks. Be sure it appears at times. As for "woodwind", In the the low the bow sounds like a reed. I note you have a pickup on the bridge. Hope your running this through a valve amp. :) Digital, Smigital? Have you a wooden cello? Not convinced with carbon. The scroll is also missing! Loool
Actually I'm not using that pickup during this recording - I'm using the little mic that's clipped on closer to the tailpiece, a DPA condenser mic. I have a wooden cello but it's pricey to maintain and hard to travel with.
Very nice. (I am a cellist, BTW.) One suggestion, though - at 3:52, the recapitulation, the cellist should play the minor seventh (c flat), as this will be more affecting.
+George Durham wow. thats really impressing. i never thought carbon cello could have such warm and rich sound. im sorry to bother you but can you tell me the model of this cello? btw, did you transpose it to d major by sight or you found transposed parts of it?
+Alexey Lavrov its a luis and clark cello. I think the sheet music i found was in Eb or Db or something....it was a flute and piano version and i just transposed.
No sé si es una interpretación ortodoxa; ignoro si Debussy hizo este arreglo para violonchelo. Por otra parte, el sonido de éste es notoriamente oriental... Pero, a pesar de esto, es una bella interpretación. Me emocionó.
haha - nope, no electronic manipulation, other than some Garageband reverb. Woodwind in the low and brass in the high, that would be cool but i don't hear it myself.
I am learning this for a wedding soon. With the flute/violin music, you just read everything down an octave. Cellists are sometimes required to do that. I am learning it in D flat though :-O

Yeah but classical music on the radio always comes out really low quality in general, so.
1:54 the sound of the cello on this part is ethereal. I don't cry when I listen to music but that sound created an immediate reaction, that was just beautiful.
i had the exact same reaction. there's something about that just moves you. it's just so beautiful that your heart can't stand it
Extraordinary. Possibly the most beautiful piece of music ever written. Gorgeous interpretation. Thank you.
I'm really digging that Luis and Clark cello. Clear as a bell, and nice and bright.
Two most beautiful instrumental sounds - cello and harp!
One of the most beautiful renditions I've ever heard!!!
So beautiful. This really touched my heart.
***** D'accord...!!!

Fantastic! Awesome!!!!
A lot of harmonics in this D major version! I like.
Wow what beautiful instruments. I always wished that I played the harp or cello, they are my favorite.
Tear-jerkingly beautiful.

Not convinced with carbon.
The scroll is also missing! Loool
Who took down your rendition of Fratres?! Put that back up now.
RUclips took it down. Havent been able to find the original video
@@geormiet that's heart-breaking.. it was the cleanest on cello i've been able to find and paired so well with the harp.
Hnnng, I need the sheet music too.

Wow
❤
Hello. Please could you explain your sound setup? What pickup do you use and is there some post-processing like reverb? your cello sounds just great.
thank you. i used a dpa mic only for the cello, and added reverb in garageband.
+George Durham wow. thats really impressing. i never thought carbon cello could have such warm and rich sound. im sorry to bother you but can you tell me the model of this cello? btw, did you transpose it to d major by sight or you found transposed parts of it?

I can't seem to find you're Fratres video, played with the same harpist. Was it removed?😯
Yea, copyright. I was trying to track it down too, and I found a link to it that just said it was removed due to copyright claims. :[

¿Cómo que a pesar?
Que te suene oriental u occidental no conlleva ninguna falla o desventaja. xD

Sí, malditos razistas >:c
haha - nope, no electronic manipulation, other than some Garageband reverb. Woodwind in the low and brass in the high, that would be cool but i don't hear it myself.

Hello George Durham, did you arrange this yourself or did you find sheet music on the internet?
I found a flute arrangement online, and used that.
+George Durham how did you use the flute arrangement?
I am learning this for a wedding soon. With the flute/violin music, you just read everything down an octave. Cellists are sometimes required to do that. I am learning it in D flat though :-O
Shigatsu wa kimi no uso (Your lie in April ) 👏👏👏👏
...Jesus.
cello is good, harp :( :( :(
i was very please until 2:14 :(
without piano feels like lost it's soul
music 10/10, camera work 2/10
I wish the harp wasn't playing the melody with you. It was a bit distracting.
New sound, new ideas.
you didn't understand anything
nah it was beautiful, debussy would be proud
