lm a Rocker and 54. l worked a Muse show and was Blown away. These guys are NO Joke. Talent like l havnt seen in along time. NO FAKE BS...!
And they do have some of the best performances out there. Been in two of their concerts several years apart and they were absolutely crazy both times.

I saw them in Germany at Bizaare Festival playing at 5pm 1999 and then 15 years later in Waldbühne Berlin, best live band imho.

I've always loved this Muse song but this song is a perfect example as why Chris is such an underrated bass player his performance is just phenomenal!

Muse are awesome. For as long as they've been around, they have managed to keep fresh and constantly modify their sound. They are super talented and have been hugely influential on other bands. I never gave them a fair listen when I was younger, but after I got into The Warning I kept hearing all the comparisons and I gave them another shot...and immediately got mad because I realized how good they are. And yes, that was Terry Crews in that thumbnail, he's actually been in two of their music videos.
"Won't Back Down" is a great Muse song off their newest album, and is definately worth checking out. I'll throw out a recommendation for "Dead Inside" since it's one of my favorite songs of theirs since it has an awesome bass line, Matt Bellamy's vocals are great, and the dance choreography in the music video is incredible.
Thanks for the reaction! The only suggestion I have is to always react to a live performance. Muse is at their best enjoyed live and there is a plenty of good quality performances available. For example from Rome 2013 and Wembley few years earlier.
I gave up on music years ago and only listened to old time Rock. Then I heard The Warning and they opened my eyes to MUSE because of TW's covers of their music. It is no wonder Muse is a favorite of theirs.
The line leading into the chorus is actually _"Love_ is our resistance". One of the common themes in Muse's songs is how we can stand up to the greed and corruption of the powerful if we all stand together. This song is more of a personal story influenced by the book _1984_ and the love story in it.
Fun fact: Muse's drummer, Dominic Howard, is left-handed, and sets up his drum set reversed of how drums are generally set up. He probably learned that way, instead of on a standard right handed configuration everyone gets stuck with by default.
Muse is amazing. I saw them live in Madrid-Spain..... best concert of my life!!
I absolutely love muse, and it drives me insane that they get so much hate, because they are one of the last real rock bands left in the world, or at least one of the last great rock bands with any noticeable popularity. They have such an amazing catalog of great songs.
I don't get this either but my working theory is because every Muse album is different and a lot of people can't make that jump with them. The first Muse song I heard was Muscle Museum almost 26 years ago and if you told me then that the band I was listening to on that song would go on to write Dig Down or Starlight or even this song, I'd have called you a liar.

But they still have a unique spot in my heart. Overall their work is legendary and they deserve more love, for sure.

Many hard rockers & metalheads actually enjoy Muse's songwriting & good songs. Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater) & Kirk Hammet (Metallica) also like Muse.
I don't hate them, but I got into Muse when they were new because I liked the way their songs sounded. Then they stopped doing that and moved onto something else. Which they're free to do, but that doesn't mean I'm obligated to like stuff I don't enjoy, which sounds completely different to what got me into them in the first place.
On an unrelated note, Tesco recently changed their chicken kiev recipe and now it's worse. I still like chicken kiev... but I liked the old recipe more.
This was fun to watch! My first concert was Muse at Madison Square Garden in 2010, for THAT tour, The Resistance! I was only 14, seeing them play on that stage was like being in a whole different universe, you have no idea. I can't imagine my whole youth without this song lol

The Warning covered this song 9 years ago, just after their Enter Sandman video went viral. It only has 1.5M views vs the 25M for the Enter Sandman video but it's equally impressive in my view.
I watched their cover the same day I discovered the song, I have to say sorry whilst the warning wreck it Matts voice is 100x more majestic than Danys many more and Muse just do it the best you can possibly do it and beyond realms live - The Warning is the best cover out there however , the next best after Muse themeselves - but you calling them same is totally wrong

Terry Crews is absolutely in one of Muse’s music videos. “Pressure” And you definitely should watch it. One of my favorites of theirs. Very 80’s. With plenty of 80’s movies easter eggs (especially Gremlins).
And of course if you want all the horror movie easter eggs then you’ll want to check out “You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween”.
Terry Crews is in a few of Muse's video's! I'm current wearing a 'We are Fucking Fucked' Muse t shirt and you're listening to one of my fav Muse tracks! I saw them on this tour and I think this is a great example of their great live shows! Everyone is different. But also Matt's writing, musicianship and vocal quality. The video of Pressure with Terry Crews is fun! Worth checking out!

I always thought of this song as a 1984-Lovesong, not to 1984, but placed in this setting. The Queen like pre chorus maybe helped with the placement in time.

Great reaction! Great song! This whole album 'Resistance' is quite the awesome sonic experience! Others to check from it: Uprising, Undisclosed Desires (quite different for Muse), MK Ultra, and a 3-part, almost orchestral, mostly instrumental, composition called the Exogenesis Suite, which close out the album. Incredible stuff.
HIGHLY recommend: Hysteria, Map Of The Problematique, Knights Of Cydonia.
And yes, that's Terry Crews in their video (he's in a couple) from their Simulation Theory album (of which you should also check out!). The other video - Won't Back Down is additionally worth the view. Cheers!!

Muse is STILL great.
At the time the Resistance album was a real letdown for me. Over the years I’ve grown to like it a lot more. It was just a very different album so it was quite jarring for me.
Already on a downward spiral, unfortunately.
