As a Polish citizen, I thank you for learning the story of Witold Pilecki. Sad that not all Poles know his story. Cwała bohaterom! - Glory to the heroes!

Great reaction and I'm glad to see that Touchy doesn't try to shelter Cindy from dark but deep stuff. This should be tought in schools and I'm 100% behind Cindy's suggestion about a holiday for this.

Joakim mentioned the woman who fought in the Warsaw uprising: he talks more about the meeting in the video for the song "Uprising". She had actually moved to Sweden after the war and lived there until the 2000's before returning to Poland

This is a great song and also one of the saddest stories told by Sabaton. If there ever was a definition of a hero, it's Witold Pilecki. It's a song from the album Heroes, recorded with the current line up, so Chris and Thobbe (Thorbjörn Englund). Great reaction as always. Btw mentioning Tommy, his band Majestica has a new single, A New Beginning. I hope you will check it out

This is one of the most sad, terrifying, and important songs/history Sabaton has. Always makes my eyes watering.
Great reaction. I guess that the history channels episode on Father is extremely interesting and important to know. That's my suggestion!

You are right that it was easier for rich people (this is always the case everywhere), but not only that. These bribes paid to corrupt Germans also came from collections. Among family, friends, acquaintances and often random people.
You know, we do it online now too - it was just much, much more difficult back then.

You can see a photo of Witold Pilecki during his trial. Keeps hands folded behind the back or under the arms. Do you know why? Because his fingernails were torn out during torture.

It's seemingly just a detail, but a very significant one - the smaller the number you had tattooed (7, 6, 5, 4-digit, etc.), the more respect other prisoners showed you. It meant that you had been in Auschwitz for a long time, you managed to survive, so maybe you knew how to do it. What you say and do became very important.

Hello, as usual, I enjoyed watching your joint reaction. However, I want to correct one thing you said, Witold Pilecki was not accused and murdered by "THEIR OWN"... it was the Soviet authorities who did it. Poles who held important positions were subordinated to Stalin, after the end of WWII there were many such "trials" and the verdict was basically known in advance. So please bear in mind that Witold Pilecki was not murdered by Poles.

A small correction, because you say that his own people killed Pilecki. You have to know that World War II ended for Poles in 1989. From 1945 to 1989 we were in Soviet captivity. And as you know from history, the Soviets attacked Poland on September 17, 1939, the same month as the Germans. Witold Pilecki was killed by the Soviets. During that time, many of us were tortured, killed, and spied on.

What a great reaction! Back in the 90s, when I was in a senior class, it was mandatory in Germany to visit a KZ Memorial. In my case it was KZ Buchenwald in 1998. For me I cant describe the feelings. Its like walking on a killing field, but the grass is green and it looks so beatuful. History is repeating again, not just in the US, but all over the world. Mankind isnt´t willing or able to learn from bloody mistakes made so many times before....

The body of Captain Witold Pilecki is still being sought today. Its history, inconvenient for the Polish communist authorities, remained largely unknown for several decades

Checking your backlog and I noticed that neither one of you have reacted to the two songs "Sarajevo" and "Versailles" (+corresponding Sabaton history episodes). Could be a 2-parter, Sarajevo obviously first. Another alternative could be "In Flanders Field", which while not featuring Joakim's voice, do showcase Sabaton's great understanding of how to end an album.

Hi sorry I'm going to try once more ANGELICA HALE (16yrs) old will be leaving soon to NYC to start rehearsals for her staring role in a new Broadway Musical I think that I mention this once before ok she did this 3 weeks ago when a major movie company wanted her to perform their movie title theme song and background vocals and ask her to do a movie theme song to hear her vocals and boy she pass with flying color(ANGELICA HALE did SKYFALL for them) but feel performance will be part of her portfolio because she already signed to go to NYC for her staring role in a new Broadway Musical and when you listen you will see why Broadway producers are trying to get her for their shows so see below for link to view video of ANGELICA HALE doing SKYFALL
