Thank you for the video. I picked up an FT-5D handheld just a couple of days ago. I was able to follow your video and get APRS running by following along.

Thanks for this APRS setup video. It will certainly get any FT-5DR users up and running expeditiously.

How do I turn it off when I want to do regular dual monitoring? I can't get rid of th A12 message on top right of screen.

Great explanation. I was between this and the ID52, and the ID52 won. But I may need to add this one also for the APRS. Do you find while out hiking that the radio reliably gets the packets through? De ke2sx

If it has a good whip antenna on it then the packets are received pretty well. The stock antenna is ok with sending packets.

Great Video. I had a question can you broadcast on channel A. While aprs is running automatically in the background on channel B? Or would interfere with one another?

Yes you can. The radio is designed to operate APRS on the B band anyway so interference is not an issue.
