Here's a tip from what another commenter brought up. Honda sells, of course, both Lithium grease and Silicone grease. The difference is - Lithium grease is petroleum based so it should not be used on plastic or rubber (like door seals). It sticks well to metal. Silicone grease is silicone based and sticks well to many surfaces and will not deteriorate plastic and rubber.

If you look closely you can see the arm on the center bearing jerk when it changes direction, lubricating the track is going to be a temporary fix at best. Our Odyssey's left sliding door still works smoothly because the right side is the one that gets the most use. I ended up replacing the right side center bearing because one of the two rollers had broken off. Here is an easy way to tell. With both doors closed open both doors using the master switch on the dash. When the doors get about half way open turn the master switch (above the sliding door open / close switches) to the off position. This will stop the doors. Now you can carefully slightly rock each door back and forth while looking at the arm on the center support bearing. If one or both of the bearings are worn or broken there will be a lot of side to side movement.
Keeping the lower roller clear of debris, where does all that stuff come from! and lubing the seals are excellent suggestions.

One would think you should know the top rail has a plastic like rubber bumper door stop that will melt in hot weather and either fall off or turn into a very sticky like tar that gets all over the inside top door. The door stops are about $8 apiece and very simple to put on and you can see how easily they will come off when melted. goo gone works to remove the sticky mess inside the door and will stop the door from sticking when opening.

Thanks for pointing that out! I just checked my van, after going out to wipe down the seals with silicon lube. I see where the bumpers used to be and they aren't there and the doors definitely hit the metal there.

Man Don't put lithium grease on rubber. It is wrong, the rubber will fade and crack. Put silicone grease or silicone paste. Lithium is not good for rubber

Vaseline or tire coating spray on weatherstrips is better too. Lithium grease turns dark and stain whatever touch it.

On my Odyssey the plastic wheels broke and binded up and the cable snapped. Now both by doors had to have the rollers changed and they don't close on their own anymore. So now they're just manual. Honda only sells the motor with the cable and they're 500 bucks each and they are a huge pain in the ass to change. It wasn't worth it for me on a 13 year old van.

@@seanlacroix - You must be talking about having a garage do the repair work for that price. I just Googled "2007 Honda Odyssey sliding door motor and cable" and the prices are about $ 130 to $ 150 per side. That extra $ 350 must be for labor which would be about right. At $ 90 per hour, it probably takes several hours to do the job. The purpose of looking at these RUclips videos is to learn how to do these jobs for ourselves and keep that $ 700 for labor in our pockets.

If the other three windows remain up but you hear a clicking sound when operating each individual window switch at the driver control pad, this indicates you have a failed master switch on the drivers pad. This is the switch that makes windows lock or unlock. Try to find used at a salvage yard or available on amazon. Make certain you have your model correct, LX, EX, EX-L, etc. This pad is easy to change, you insert a small flat screwdriver along the bottom edge of pad and pry up gently. The entire pad assembly can then be removed by disconnecting the 2 plug in modules. You change the entire master switch pad as one assembly. I did mine in five minutes.

You just don't notice how much people smoke when you are a smoker or live in a society where everyone still smokes. But when I look at old black and white movies, I am just floored. It's almost impossible to find a scene where someone ISN'T holding a cigarette in their fingers. Now, I look back and realize just how addicted all those people where. But when you're doing it yourself, you just don't see it.

You guys could barely fit in the space you had. Have you demonstrator hold off on putting a freaking cig in his mouth like he was doing a job that mattered to him. I noticed it was not lit, but the vid was a total of 5 mins, you'd think he could have put it off for that amount of time and pretended to liked his job.
