    I am so grateful you did this video! I have tried the "typical" hooded eye tutorial countless times, and I thought I was just not skilled enough to make it work. Now I'm realizing that technique doesn't suit my type of hooded eye. I'm excited to try this technique since we have very similar eye shapes. Thank you!

    • @tabimimja7672
      @tabimimja7672 5 лет назад +2

      Same! I thought I just really sucked at following tutorials, but now I see a big part of it is that even the standard hooded eye tutorials look bad on my eyes. I'm so thankful for these videos. Total game changer!

      Loving the tutorial. IAs a more mature woman i follow those youtubers and all their titorials follow your texhnique. I think the OTT cut crease is made by younger youtubers. I got fed up with the young crowd cos it doesnt relate to my face and needs.

    Your 100% right about this....."usual /typical" way just doesnt work for heavier hooded lids. I think a lot of confusion comes from the tutorials being made, they are by girls that really just don't have our type of (heavier) eye...or they don't have hooded eyes at all! .....So glad to see you sharing your knowledge, it's so nice seeing eyes/looks that I can actually recreate! Keep up the amazing work !

    You are quickly moving up the ranks to become one of my favorite RUclipsrs! I am LOVING these tips!
    Another favorite tip I've picked up is to not be afraid to really bring my transition shades up higher than what I see in tutorials. I can always go back with my brow bone highlight and make it pop, but carrying that gradation much higher up the lid really helps my hood recede. I've never quite mastered the outer V though, so this is SUPER helpful! Thanks for another great video!

    • @BethaneyLilly
      @BethaneyLilly 6 лет назад +2

      Totally agree, one of my favs too :)

    • @denisemarie6131
      @denisemarie6131 5 лет назад +1

      Regarding the "outer V", I am learning to get the shadow on the tip of my brush, then jam it into my socket (outer corner area) and blend it where I need it from there. This way the shadow is applied directly to where the depth of the eye naturally occurs. I hope I'm making sense. I have no idea how to make a video. But I wish I did to post to on Instagram so others can learn along with me. I have mature hooded eyes. Young hooded eyes differ from mature hooded eyes in that the older skin has more sag to it. Ahhh to be in a young body again! Oh well....those days are gone so I am learning how to work with what I have now! : )

    this is legit the only hooded eye tutorial I have ever seen that actually works. You hit the nail on the head about how deepening the crease on a hooded eye makes it look heavy and weird. The heaviest part of my hood is towards the inside of my eye like yours and I'm guessing that's why it doesn't work for some of us. This is so incredibly helpful and my eye makeup looks like I've always wanted it too. So happy I stumbled across this that I subscribed as soon as I finished watching.

      I SAW Stephanie Lange and she has a technique that she calls " dome shape eyeshadow ", I follow her tutorial ( there's a few showing from natural style to heavy /night style)
      IT is easy to follow, and fellows puffy- hooded -eyelid people can really learn to do .

    • @heidihunny4890

      s4andy63 it's a puffy hood and it's more puffy in the inner eye...i have the same and it's a deep set hooded eye and I think that's where this different type of hooded comes from . Like Stephanie Lange has hooded eye but hers are not deeper so the not good so to say technique works for a hood like that. It's so hard to explain unless you have it.

    Omg yasss this is a great video w great hooded eye information bcuz I also have really heavy hooded eyes like urs and I agree that we shouldn't apply a dark shadow in the outer v and its best to apply it on the eyelid area bcuz it looks best that way..thanks so much

    I can’t wait to try this technique. For awhile I thought eyeshadow wasn’t for me but I got the Tati beauty palette and have been having a lot of fun with it. Going to try your technique to elevate my look to the next level :) !

    Thanks for this tutorial you made it so much easier for me to do eyeshadow. I have really puffy hooded eyes that are also a little on the deep-set side. But after watching your tutorials it's so much easier for me to do eye makeup

    Honestly I just wanna say THANK YOU! I’ve tried to do eyeshadow on my hooded eyes following other videos and could never get it to work for me so I just finally gave up on eyeshadow all together! But this video just got me excited to try again!

    I always learn so much from your videos! The other day it took me forever to finish my lower lash line because I have a sinus infection or something and my eyes kept watering and taking away the shadow. I eventually just stuck a waterproof pencil just in the area that was watering and it made it hold up.

    This was super helpful! I’ve been struggling with the crease. Often find that some days it looks good and others it looks awful and have never quite put my finger on why but just realized that the days it looks worse is when I bring it too far in!

    That’s is so funny! When I was in college I did my makeup like this but with low quality makeup and after graduating started to try the cut crease method on the left which just wouldn’t look good on my eyes. Thank you for highlighting this!!!!! Love that this is my first video on your channel- new subbie!!!

    This is fantastic!!! Thank you so much. I have heavy hooded Downturned eyes that have become even more accentuated the older I get. I want to no need to try this. I have all but given up on shadows. What’s the point if your hood hides all the hard work. And forget about color! I will be spending the remainder of my night pouring through your videos. You are the first mu guru I’ve seen that makes any sense to me and isn’t over the top but super fun.
