- The white powder is glue to paste wallpaper. Normally you first put the powder in cold water, but this seems to work just as well.
Here an example. The glasses, left, are made in two parts. The foot is made around a wire, the head of the glasses is around a polystyrene shape. The thin 'glass' is papermache on top of a wire frame.

Bij deze hoeveelheid pulp is ongeveer een pakje lijm fijn.
Goed door de uitgewrongen pulp mixen tot het smeuïg is. Zonder lijm is de pulp vaak maanden houdbaar, met lijm en al is het onvoorspelbaar.

If you do this with smaller torn pieces of newsprint in smaller batches, you can use an immersion blender. It cuts into materials well.

Ein tolles Rezept. VIELEN DANK DAFÜR 🤗👍👍👏👏👏, doch wie sich zeigte, nicht fein genug. Für grobes wie zb. Mauern, Dächer oder Felsen ok, aber wenn es feine Strukturen braucht, muß es kleiner und feiner verarbeitbar sein.

Glad to see that you're doing it the right way. Most sites will show using strips of paper. The way i learned was the way you're doing it. The Pope's hat is paper mache. The only thing light enough for him to wear. Objects came for the orient that were paper mache lacquered to a beautiful finish. Europeans were astonished and tried to duplicate the beauty. Good work....carry on.......s PS. the music is great!

Use A4 sized papers so we get white coloured beautiful mache and not dark colour

enjoyed video, but not sure what powder was you sprinkled in mixture.
@mrketon I draw figures in hard paper and then I put this mache on the drawing.I let it dy (may take several days) and then I remove it from the paper..You can put colors to it considering what you make.

Thanks for the recipe. I mighty be a wee bit nervous using electricity near all that water. I suppose it's the only way you can mash it up - or is there a safer, more primitive method?

Recycling is super! But what we can use this ? For example can we do a sculpture ?

You can use a wireframe, You can use polystyrene forms, that you can shape with a sharp knife and sanding paper, or polyurethane foam. I dry these forms in the oven at 100 degrees centigrade. When they are dry, you heighten the temperature to 125. Then, nice trick, the foam starts to shrink and gets loose from the paper maché and you can easily remove it.

Make mine kind of that way but I just soak mine in boiling water and mash by hand (literally with my hands) till it turns to pulp haha I'm trying to dry mine out though so I can just rehydrate it when needed but its COOLD here so its alittle difficult haha

Fun! Would love to see some projects from the clay. Also, what's the shelf-life before it sets (can I make it and keep it a couple of months for the kids to work with?) Finally, should it be worked with layering, so it can dry inbetween? So it doesn't mold/mildew internally? Danke!!

skip the mixing part. just go down and get blow-in insulation at home depot for $9. Would save time.... Unless you have alot of newspaper. But for those that dont have a big drill and mixer it would work.

A kitchen blender and water. More water than paper, and it shreds it perfect. You just have to do it in lots of small batches.

In South India, the Craftsmen use re-powdered Plaster of Paris molds to bring pliability to the clay. It gives more ease to the making.

I'm asking seriously, because on every cartridge is description, that print ink is extremely danger for water animals and water life,so it should be recycled in a special way. Now, if we put news paper to the water, print dissolve, and water will be... like toxic.So now I'm thinking it is good for our health and environment ? Maybe it should be prepared some other way?

you can store it for a long time (weeks) as long as there is no glue added. best place is the refrigerator.

According to google translate "een heel pakje" is "a whole package" and "behangplaksel" is wallpaper paste; "een uur wachten" is "wait an hour"; and "klaar"--"ready". I searched for wallpaper powder online and found a few options. I've never made this, but have seen fine art paper mache work done with pulp rather than clay.
