- Hey guys, One of the things I like most about my line of work is that there are never two days that are the same. Every job presents new challenges even though they may be something you have done before. That's the fun part. Never boring. Plus, a little windshield time is nice now and then. Sit back, enjoy the video, and hopefully you pick up a pointer or two. Thanks for the support.
I was watching another welding/repair channel. He was doing some torch work, and he said "its not as good as IC weld..." You are a master with a torch and welder. Thanks for the video.
haha, funny.
On fire welding a good guy giving respect where respect is due
I watched that too! I laughed so hard!
Haha that was me.
@@OFW You are a highly skilled professional, which you demonstrated by recognizing the skills of another professional.
10:49 that gusset should have extended all the way to the bottom corner of the tube. poor design
agreed
No apologies necessary, your videos are always top notch and your torch cutting is the smoothest and fastest that I have ever seen. The weld that you made on the 2nd truck to cover up 2 holes really looked good once you were finished welding it. Good to see your son learning the business from Dad. I noticed that he has been working/learning from you on a lot of jobs lately and in my opinion, he could not have found a better teacher.
Damn, more roadway than living space.
And gas stations a mile wide...
Funny if you compare that to Switzerland, where roads are tiny.
Thanks Isaac!
*interesting video! good luck to you and everyone)* 👍🏽🔥🔥
"That's no breaking... At least for a little while" That's why I like you keeping it real!
Not really the joint design on that chute thing and it's very likely the engineer and welder at the factory did not care much about what happened several years down the road. Nice repairs as always my friend. Cheers
I had ruined a cilinder once not putting anything over the cilinderrod, that chrome attracts spatter like bees to honey.
Many of the exceptional metal workers on RUclips refer to your videos often. Your knowledge and skill is exceptional
Humble request please make video of your vehicle setup
Its coming. I'm looking for some missing pictures. Thats part of the hold up. Sorry for the delay.
I learned more working with my Dad than I realized at the time,
Anybody can mess up a weld job. The skill required to repair is definitely on a higher plain.
We are so dry here in central Illinois, I think I'm in Texas.....
You do a much better job with your filters while welding than anyone else I watch. It is fascinating to watch your rod technique.
I'm glad you found a pump at the gas station, I was worried just the biggest gas mega station I ever seen..👍👍👍👍😎😎🤣
As mentioned previously, I just came back from Austin and my daughter introduced me to "Buc-ee's" and that was the same one you went to. At Buc-ee's one item I stocked up on was the jerky.....................interesting place!
Best guess on the holes that showed up at 14:30 ish was an attempt to drill out the ends of the previous crack, followed by a less-than-ideal weld patch.
Obviously a poorly engineered support member, since it showed up on two machines. Needs a plate sistered to it there to strengthen it.
I forgot to click the thumbs up when I watched this. San Antonio has a memory for me. We were on vacation back in the 70's and our CB radio was stolen while we were having lunch. I drove back to San Antonio three days later to buy another CB. We were in Cuero, Texas visiting friends.
Man I hope your boy knows what a good thing he has going!!! 👊👊
Nice work! 👍👍👌👌 Buck-ees is the best!
It sure is!
WHOA !! Did I spy an electrode holder as a shift knob ? That deserves a short of its own along with being shown in the shop truck video.
How freaking cool.
You are correct
Awesome work Cuz.. was someone speeding in the first few minutes of this video haha.. oh by the way nice black and white coffee mug on your dashboard 👍
Good catch. Yeah, I have a good buddy that is a state trooper. he got that for me.
@@ICWeld nice 👍
Even with camera battery issues I still enjoy watching.
Love seeing your son working with you.
And dang, that was the biggest gas station I've ever seen.
Keep the videos coming.
Buc-ee's is awesome!! If you ever have a chance visit one!!!
The petrol station - it had more pumps than my village has motor cars!!!
That had to be the Buckees just north of New Braunfels on 35N.
As a roadside mechanic, i'm having a love hate relationship with the rain 😂
That’s a pretty sweet rig you have there. That crane is a game changer. I like the manipulation you were doing on the thinner material. I’ll have to give that a try.
I did a lower case "d" shaped pattern while concentrating most of the heat on the thicker part.
@@ICWeld
yeah that was cool...
@@ICWeld I have seen you use the "d" pattern before and started using it for a wide weld in thinner material, It really does work!
Great Stuff Issac, wishing you a productive and hopefully 'cool weather' today and tomorrow....hot over here in Florida.....cheers, Paul
I have been doing wheelbase modifications to trucks for this type of setup for the last year all of them headed to Texas ! Proall concrete trucks
I think there are countries smaller than the fuel station you visited! nice video, great teamwork
Bucees is really the best fuel station around
What do welders and doctors have in common?
We both bury our mistakes .
Thanks for the great content….. Awesome rig 🔥
Yeah that was pretty good. I can't believe the size of the gas station with all those pumps. There's nothing like that as far as I know up here in Canada I've been across Canada. I've never seen anything like it. Unreal and they talk about gas vehicles disappearing not in Texas. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
It's called Bucees. They have 100 or so pumps. Mostly in South USA. They have alot to do there.
Another fantastic repair! Torch, gouging, & some 7018's.....all in one video- Thanks!
Where was that fuel station ?? How many pumps did it have?? 🇬🇧🇬🇧👍👍
yup, 120 pumps
Always fun finding hidden gems when you work over someone elses patchwork.. Nice repair..
I hate to find that a structural beam that seemed solid turns to be a thin wall square tube. Most of the times it should have been designed with an IPN beam instead. Do you think that square tubes hold the same as an IPN beam with equal wall? 'Cos I think that square tubes are used only for aesthetical purposes, to pretend to be a solid piece of steel... but it's structural strength usually results to not be enough for what it was designed. It's interesting that way to strengthen that bent wall on the pressure point, by making a "rib" out of weld. It keeps amazing me how often we find design flaws from factory, and the owner just want the welder to put a "band-aid", and call it ready. The phrase "I did not enlist for this shit." keeps coming to my mind. 🤣
I think designing around box tube makes it much easier to cut and fabricate.
(no coping into the beam and no need to add length in that piece to reach the web)
A box also has much better torsional stiffness than an 'I' section of equal material cross section.
Looks like you have a good helper with you. Maybe you need to change the name to I C Weld and son.
Outstanding work my friend !!! Jr has the best teacher in Texas !!!
Cool seeing ur son take up the trade.
what size of cable do you use on your stick welder and do you splice a whip on the end? If so how do you splice your cables? Video???
1/0 and a No.4 I believe.
Just love seeing you work with your son! Keep up the great videos!
Hugo - Italy
love yr work and the servce truck both real good
Thanks great video.
Was this job selected because you had to stop at Buc'ees to get fuel or to pickup lunch too. How to kill two birds with one stone. Hope your son is on the payroll or is he an independent contractor, don't worry he's always going to be a dependent.
Nice perk to the job.😁😁😁
What I'd give to work with/for you for a month or two, if I still had it in me. Maybe I do maybe I don't. Doesn't matter, doctors would never give me a green light anyway. Anyway, always enjoyable to watch you and your son at work. Y'all have a good one and be safe out there!
Awesome video. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Thanks!
You are a wizard with a stick machine. So impressive 👍👍
Obviously the best welder in the state that was some distance you went, what a great days learning with the lad in toe to👍
If that is ur son with u that is awesome that u get to bring him out on jobs with u and teach him more about the trade u r in. Great job love watching ur videos and learning
Nice video Isaac. When will we see your son welding on camera?
Not sure yet
Thanks for sharing anyways, it was very interesting nonetheless mr. Weld Boss Man :D
Thank junior for the assistence and camerawork!
Isak,,, se dise que para soldar algun equipo con electronicos se deve desconectar la bateria.
very nice, thanks for the lesson
I could hear you say thanks for watching fading lol awesome videos brother
That was great really enjoyed thanks.
Another job masterfully done!
I've always been told to make sure the batteries are disconnected on computerized equipment before striking an arc.I see you dont do that,is it just unnecessary,or was the welding far enough away from the computers that you weren't worried?
is it necessary to unhook battery connection of the vehicle before doing welding work on it?
Older stuff they said ya were fine as long as grounded close to the weld. I disconnect battery cables on everything I weld. And still ground as close as possible.
I have been watching your channel for quite a while Isaac and have always thought you are probably one of the most humble artisans, great workmanship and I have learn so much just by watching your craft thank you very much. keep doing what you do.
New Braunfels Pump 49 is the pump to use from now on.
But does it have an I C Weld sticker on it yet??? 🤔
@@jimurrata6785 🤔
Looks like you switched from 1/8" to 3/32" and back? Easier going up hill?
Running low on battery eh? Maybe next time don't record random and irrelevant long drive to the worksite. Other then that, I enjoy the videos.
Wow that was a huge gas station we don’t have anything like that up here in CT. I have to say I’m not a huge dodge fan but I love your truck.
Brilliant repairs
I can weld. But my dad took test to weld on a nuclear sub. I learned after that I don’t know shit. Lol
All I can say is. You must weld 100 times better then the best robot
nice explanation of the reapirs made..pretty straightforward, yet well explained..glad to see you passing the trade along to your son A+++++
623👍's up IC WELD thanks for sharing
I’ve learned more from mr I C weld then I ever thought possible. ! And that rod end of da cylinder got eaten by da grease worms !!
Those coffee mugs on the dash of your truck wouldn't have to tap the windscreen very hard to shatter it.
Years ago a I guy I knew shattered the windscreen on a Toyota truck at work with his wedding ring while he was trying to swat a fly!
That gas station was huge.
That's a badass truck
Always learning while watching your vids.
Second repair bc of bad detailing. Ending a gusset in the middle of a tube wall.
Idk if that's your son that works with you but it sure does make me wish I could spend everyday and work with my dad again.
Nice job, I remember my pop showing me that welding pattern
What a gas station📏📏📏📏📏
Whip it out.....Fastest Gerber work tool in the west....
No music👍👍👍👍👍music👎💩😬
If you weren't so far away i'd get you to come fix some cracks on my lowboy trailer. But i dont think traveling a few thousand km would be very cost effective haha
Still waiting for the rig tour. 😁
It's up👍
448 viewer.
Great content as always.
Great job as always. Love that you are teaching your son the trade.
I learned something so education complete…. For today lol
Happy to see your work.
Nice work men!
Keep a charger in the truck! We love the long videos!!
I'm A 3 if you have put some slide Gus's on there it probably help it up quite a bit
Yes, Variety is the spice of life
And I’ve been to that Casey’s before and don’t forget to shoot some grease on da cylinder
You definitely use the carrie on pliers for everything very handy tool you carry
That technique you use with your stick work is useful thank you
I love watching you weld, I’ve learned a lot. By the way ,Its funny how you don’t use a chipping hammer. What kind of tool is that,” i like it”, where can i get one exactly like yours? Im talking about those pliers you use . 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
There should be a link to them in the description.
nice job love your video i see allot I'm doing wrong but I'm getting better thanks again
It sticks thats why its called stick welding 😂 good job ic
What pressure are you running your O2 at. That cylinder ear was dancing around. I can't afford anything over 20 psi for general work and sometimes less than that.
I enjoyed the video, somthing a little different. 👍
I have seen crow foot welds come past too depends on the engeneer ha ha. Bill janzen
Love to see the father son team at work. Truck looks beautiful.
I enjoy watching skill and knowledge at work. You make working with metal look as easy as me spreading butter on bread. I know it ain't that easy, I'm really good at blowing holes. Thanks for your efforts.
I've done several concrete pours with volumetric mixers this year and the whole time I was thinking how all those contraptions on the trucks could keep someone like I.C. busy
At least this place was being proactive and getting their other rig fixed as well.
It often amazes me how torn up some of the equipment you feature is.
(Like excavator booms ripped completely in half!)
If I had an employee that let something get that bad I would send them packing.
In fact I would want to hear about it as soon as 'something felt loose' or the oiler noticed the paint cracked.
