Monty Tank was my first introduction to Monty Moles, he's one of the coolest NSMB fights and until I played Mario Party DS, I had no idea the Monty Moles were normally generic enemies
Finally someone who says original two. Well Odyssey proofed that Nintendo can make original characters if they want so let's see what E3 has to announce.
I know that's the one thing that was missing in Color Splash which was kind of sad. As much as I love Huey I think they could have had some other partners along for the ride. Like a Monty Mole. I liked Color Splash in how creative it's levels and areas were and I actually did enjoy the battles (it now has incentive to winning fights). It was a good game for me. But still...I couldn't help shake the feeling that something was missing and I know what it is and that's the partners. Huey was the only partner you had throughout the game. I kind of miss having other partners along for the ride in addition to the tattle partner. Even Super Paper Mario in addition to Tippi you had the other partners as well like the hand one that lets you pick up and throw enemies and projectiles. They probably should have done the same with partners in Color Splash. In addition to Huey you have other secondary partners along for the ride that each have their own abilities.
My biggest problem wit Color Splash was that Huey was the only original character in this game. All others were just generic Toads which is sad because some of them actually had quite a lot of potential like the professor, the pirates or the Rescue Squad. It felt like the game was originally planned as a classic Paper Mario game with lots of new characters (as profen by the concept art) and then Miyamoto came and replaced everyone with a Toad. A similiar problem was with Super Paper Mario. There where lots of great characters in that game but all of them were reduced to one chapter like Squrips, Flint or Luvbi who could have been great partners. But instead we got those stupid pixls who had no personality and most of them were only useful in one chapter and after their introduction they never talked again. Pathetic compared to TTYD.

In New Super Mario Bros., Monty Tank is the boss of World 6 where he appears to be outside the castle at the courtyard behind the mountains. He can use his tank to shoot Bullet Bills at Mario to take away his power ups and destroy him with Bob-ombs over the battle. Also, the wind can be heard blowing loud after the player leads through the boss door. The tank explodes that the Monty Mole falls off the screen when defeated.
I'm surprised that the Fawful express wasn't on this video, I mean yeah the damage Bowser was unleashing was to the train itself but it was the monty bros that were controling it. Just saying
