Another possibility had to deal with a few months ago was trying to convince someone their new smart surge protector was defective. Back and forth for 3 days before he gave in and pressed the test button on it and wouldn't ya know it it came back with bad test result. Sockets go bad sometimes, when they do just pray they don't take anything with it. The only other thing if guessing on stuff that's new is maybe the bottom fans running through the case? Maybe cables got caught/cut on the case material and now shorting.

Thanks for the content Jay!! I always enjoy your work. 3 days ago I had an online exam for my coding class. I took a nap around 04:30 after shutting my rig off. Back in the middle of August I had an issue with random shutdowns. 3 months prior to that the same thing was happening but after ruling out all components it started running normally. So 3 days ago, while freaking out because I was losing study time, I decided to swap the motherboard. I had an extra Z690 Maximus Extreme for a buddies build and replaced my Z790 Extreme. I got done and had the same issue again. For the life of me I couldn’t figure it out. So I unhooked everything including 19:50 the wires going to the power button, HD led, etc. I booted with the onboard start button and voila it booted and no shutdown. Turns out that the HD led wire or power led wire had a short. These were parts I had cannibalized off the first PC I built back in ‘05. So yeah intermittent issues suck. Keep it up!!

All of these issues and problems are my favorite part of water cooling. There is always a challenge. My favorite ITX build in the Razer Tomahawk used an external reservoir on the back and massive 19/13 soft tubes cooling a 3090 and a 5800x3d. Slim bottom 240mm and normal 240mm top. I love these kinds of challenges.
Intermittent issues are also the hardest to diagnose. Had a customer many years ago get mad because his RAM (128GB) took days to test. Not to mention his cooler is bad and his PSU power plugs werent even plugged in all the way. Imagine how fun this is to do for a living. :')

A potential issue of not having a res is thermal expansion. If there is no air bubble/buffer to compress under raising temps, the pressure is gonna get high, with the potential of blowing out a tube. I purposely underfilled my itx build slightly.

I built into the NR200P (non-MAX one), in my case I used the EKWB FLT80 reservoir and the EKWB velocity² Intel 1700 waterblock. I 3D printed the top of the case to fit the second 240mm radiator and used quick connectors from alphacool to connect each component, as well as a short Linkup PCIe 4.0 riser to move the EKWB Vector RTX 3080FE Special Edition to the 2nd slot and free up space for the tubes and quick connectors between the CPU and GPU waterblock. It's one of my hardest builds that I did. It requires a couple of micro fittings from EK to allow you to get behind the GPU waterblock from the reservoir.

Once again the grey fox shows his genius. I'm not sure how physics works in his world, where he can make an entire video about static pressure and incense, but heat or rather hot air rises. Given this, I'm actually quite surprised that Jay isn't permanently stuck to the ceiling. Now it doesn't matter whether you put one fan or two fans or 50 fans as exhausts trying to keep the radiator cool, you're still going to get some hot air flow moving upwards through the case. With an ITX configuration, you've got very limited options, which is why unless space is at an absolute premium, you should choose an something that gives you more options in terms of air flow. I'm pretty sure that this gaming rig isn't something that needs to be in a such a small configuration. Rads should typically be mounted at the top of the case as exhausts, they shouldn't unless absolutely necessary be mounted at the bottom or at the front. Mounting them at the front just means you have cool air entering, going through a hot rad only to heat up the rest of the components. Mounting one on the motherboard back face as an intake is reasonable, but as an exhaust it's quite bad as it draws air from the case before it sufficiently circulates. A good option that you don't really see nowadays is a fan on the motherboard facing side-panel. Now this one is actually quite interesting because whether you set it as an intake or exhaust is actually dependent on what you have in your case. Some graphics cards expell a reasonable amount of hot air from their finstack towards the side-panel and mounting a fan as an exhaust on the side-panel can really help keep the temps low, as the hot air can almost directly be expelled. A motherboard facing fan would usually be an intake and this can still work well depending on orientation and mounting position of the internal components. But Jay, being the aerodynamic wizard that he is, probably already knows all this stuff.
Damn, I knew my degree in fluid and aerodynamics would come back to haunt me after all these years.

The funny thing is that I was going to try to make a custom loop in the NR200P Max and make a video too, so I can be one of the first people to ever do it. Not a lot of people would put a custom loop in that because it already comes with a AIO so it doesn't make much sense.
I changed my mind after a while, but I'm still going to make a custom water loop for my PC soon.

So excited to see this build. I’m currently 8 months into a watercooling build in the same case. My GPU/CPU is last gen, but going to see if a single 280nm radiator will cut it. Can’t wait to see the outcome

Long shot, is the contact frame correctly mounted?
The other issue might be the RTX 4080 power connection, tripping the OCP.

It’s funny your doing this because I’m literally in the process of building a triple rad setup in the non max version of this case. I’m waiting on my my top & bottom rads. I’m using the Alphacool 240 V2 rads as well. A crossflow up top, a regular U flow at the bottom & a 92mm at the rear. I’m also using the EK FLT 80 Pump/Res. I 3D printed a top hat mod from printables to make adding the top rad easier. I also 3D printed some taller feet so I could mount 2 P28 fans under the case.

So I know this doesn't work for 99% of the people watching, but having a separate pump / res combo with quick disconnects between to push water into the onboard loop makes builds like this so much easier.

I've been using the same EKWB cooler/pump for a few weeks and used a craft syringe to fill it. And could also get a bit pressure in the System with it to get the Air Out of the Pump that was blocking it from working. It wasn't that easy and water got on the mainboard once, but after a bit of dry time everything works well now.

If not fixed, I had a similar issue. It was the mounting pressure from the Thermal grizzly mounting block. I had to adjust to 5Nm of pressure and my system worked fine. It took me several hours to figure it out!

Bet it’s the riser cable. I thought my new gpu was DOA, until I plugged it into the motherboard directly. I had extreme coil whine, crashing, failed booting, blue screens, the lot.

I can't see Phil stacking anything on top of his PC. Before you get too deep, get a HEATKILLER® 200мм glass tube reservoir. They look cool as hell. It won't block air flow, so mount it right on top. Then you'll have easy access Phil port.😁

Finally I'm not the only person I've seen have to trim a riser PCB! I doubt that it's the reason for OCP being triggered as others suggested tho

You might have shorted the power and ground planes on the riser PCB when you cut it. Maybe try booting without the GPU?

might want to re-check that riser cable. Vibration from the rotary tool can sometimes crack joints. Quick check but easy to miss.
