because they were banned, radios refused to play their songs, most people don't know Kalamashaka, Ukoo Flani, Mau Mau. you can see that watu few in the crowd wanawajua. and yet their music talks about the voice of Kenyans who are exploited by elected representatives, capitalist imperialists, police. Juliani is more well known but radio and media give him attention juu there's a time he was affiliated with gospel music. though his latest album 'Masterpiece' is more of protest music, just like Kalamashaka.
