The first time I saw this show I was stoned. I nearly died with laughter. I used to work I. The same office as the guy who created this. I didn’t know him though.
Jade Goody (Avid Merrion stalked) was a big brother and celebrity big brother star with scandal and sadness. She got herself into hot water by being racist against Shilpa Shetty a very famous bollywood actress in the BB House. Such a stir was created Parliament even discussed it in the House of Commons and ended up issuing a public apology to India. This resulted in her being evicted. The two of them reconciled. Then Jade went on to appear in the Indian version of Big Brother (Big Boss) where she was given a diagnosis of a cervical smear test she had prior to entering. She was told she had cervical cancer. And under 2 years she had passed at 27 years old. It did spur young women across the UK to get smear tests done. She did have a big personality, and to witness her fade into a shadow was heart breaking. She left behind three sons.

There's a feature film which is mainly filmed in my city Bradford, and set in the North of England in general. A fictional comedian makes a joke about Bradford being a minority White city. If it was true, then fair enough. But it isn't, and never has been. Bradford is... 67.4% White. 26.8% Asian. 1.8% Black. 2.5% Mixed. 1.5% Other.
Some of the prosthetic faces of the celebrities are of other people. Like when he's doing the Mel B character the face is of Jim Bowen, the host of Bullseye, a popular 70s or 80s quiz/darts show.
Actually, Scary spice on 'Bo Selecta' wasn't actually based on Jim Bowens looks or persona, the character was based on the stand up comedian Charlie Chuck - real name David Kear - and to be fair was an exact impression of his voice, mannerisms and catchphrases, even the mask and hair pretty closely resembles him, the only real difference being the glasses and the clothing. There's videos of him on RUclips, if you watch some of them you will see exactly who the inspiration for scary spice on Bo Selecta' was. What Leigh has actually stated about the character was he did as Scary wast forgive a straight up impression of Charlie, but gave the character the temperament of Jim Bowen, as Charlies temperament was a bit too surreal hnd highly strung and wanted to simmer it down a bit. And , to be honest, if your temperament was a bit too strong, surreal and crazy to be used for a Leigh Francis character, then it probably was wise to temper down a bit! Also the glasses were a nod to Jim aswell. But the rest of it, Charlie Chuck.

The first time I saw this show I was stoned. I nearly died with laughter. I used to work I. The same office as the guy who created this. I didn’t know him though.
A true gem from the UK, you're welcome America lol
Watching the stunned looks on your faces was priceless 🤣🤣
Interesting fact: I've never met a Yorkshireman who wasn't even slightly unhinged.
Can confirm. I'm mental.
I laughed so hard about you saying CRAIIIIIG DAVIIIID will be stuck in your head 😅 Every Brit in the past 20 years does it, even ones that don't know what the show is hahahaha
The real comedy is Queen Boomer's reaction - it goes from sunny and optimistic to 'ugh, I feel dirty and confused...'
The lad with the Wooo t-shirt on is the image of Varadkar.
What we watched in the Millennium-ish era, and the kids we've brought up that would be horrified at all this.
We've definitely went wrong somewhere lol
That's exactly the right reaction ... its great and horrendous at the same time!
The Ali G Show and Peep Show are definitely worth checking out, more relatable than this for international audiences and funny.
peep show yes!
@@joescarecrow peep show really surprised me but you have to watch 2 to 3 episodes to understand the characters and style
but up there with the best
@@davidblurton7158
definitely! I've seen it all dozens of times and the first series takes a bit of getting used to for the viewer and while they find their feet. Still funny though! So many episodes to watch with 9 series and somehow it just keeps getting better as it progresses!
I used to watch this show 20 years ago. It was the funniest thing on TV
RIP ❤️ JADE GOODY ❤️
Best thing ever. I came home after work at 18 years old and put channel 4 on and seen this. I cried so hard with laughter throughout 😂😂😂
It's still as funny now as it was then. Even more so now as everyone is so careful not to offend.
"I don't understand" You're not supposed to.
And THATS why you should NEVER walk alone on Hampstead Heath 😅
👍🏴
You REALLY need to find the DVD's!!! The man is a comedy genius.
Craig David left the UK after these sketches.
...and entered obscurity
@@philclarke7712 the sketches actually brought him back from obscurity. He'd be completely forgotten by now if not for Bo S.
@@goatlps not sure about that...I couldn't tell you what he actually looks like these days but I remember the mask and "our Kes"
I watched the whole of series 1 in one sitting. The belly laughs were tremendous. I love this show
keep going with bo it's amazing
"I'd like to thank Lenny Henry, Ooooooo Kaaaaaay "
You should check out a show called "Bottom" - by the legendary Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmonson (who were also 2 of the main people in another cult classic show The Young Ones) - there was a couple seasons of it and 4 live shows that they toured - it's the ultimate in slapstick comedy and utterly hilarious. They stopped making Bottom after a while to do other stuff separately, sadly, just as they were thinking about working again Rik died :(
Bottom and The Young Ones are essential viewing, both classics.
He done a christmas music video: Bo Selecta Proper Crimbo. It's hilarious and has a lot of UK celebs in it.
Created by and starring *Leigh Francis* aka the creator and presenter of *Celebrity Juice* (2008-2022) the wildest panel show on TV.
Lee was a very funny man.. Sadly like they all do he bottled it and was forced to go woke
@@darrengrimmer8541 *Leigh had no need to apologise.
Even if he didn't use masks, and did straight Blackface, he still shouldn't have apologised as it's for the purpose of comedy, where nothing is off limits.
@@danielgardecki1046 you are 100% right I know it and you know it.. like so many comics they get spooked.. if they don’t follow the woke path they know they will lose work.. it should not be like because as you say comedy is about making FUN of everything and everyone
@@darrengrimmer8541 Jokes don't anger me, however misinformation does, especially when that misinformation is repeatedly constantly.
For example.
1.8% Black.
2.5% Mixed.
1.5% Other.
I'm a Brit and I remember this. Knew we could get you with this one!
Now you know how twisted us English are.
Classic time in brit com, bo selecta, ali g, and phone jacker.

More of The bear's bedtime stories please
This show was amazing, it was during my stoner years and the 2 went togeather so well!
This was really popular here but I couldn't stand it, I felt the same about little Britain and Mrs Brown's boys.
The bloopers to Bo Selecta is so funny:) They struggle a lot, breaking most of the times:) You guys must watch the bloopers.
You want weird check out " the league of gentlemen" lol
10 mins in and as much as I love you guys… think this has gone way over your head… unfortunately I don’t think Americans are ready for this level…
@ 18:48 yes indeed, oh yes!
Not just you my friend - EVERYONE ! 🤣🤣🤣
Well done for getting through this show- it was weird back in the day it was on the TV- The guy who played all those characters does a show called Celebrity Juice as Keith Lemon (where he likes to be outrageous). I was waiting for your reaction to the bear- and I was not dissapointed! I think a lot of the celebrities who were invited to go on the show with the bear didn't expect it to be adult material and certainly not to see his "tail"!
baby spice was my favorite,,,, steven you knob jockey,,,,,
As Keith Lemon, the Keith Lemon sketch show does a really funny skit of the Kardashians.
U should check out :people just do nothing. A British series about underground pirate radio.has some funny characters think u guys would like.peace n love the vids
why would you recommend one of the sh*ttest shows of all time?
it isnt funny. next you'll be recommending james corden as your go to funny man.
the standard of comedy today is crap.
did you think citizen khan was funny too?
Agreed… People Just Do Nothing is one of the few modern shows worth watching
Yeah i know alot of people go on about people just do nothing. Personally i find this show really unfunny and boring . Loli used to literally be a garage pirate radio dj aswell . Lol .
People recommend anything lol
