Many countries rations looks like the base commander went shopping at the local dollar store.
No kidding.
lol... i was just about to type the same thing... it really does!
And then there's Canada...
"Pain Hamburger"...oof!
Other Countries do not arm their troops or train them very well so they have euro to do that.
🤣 but some of these rations look like they have better tasting food (and possibly healthier) than say the MREs.
pro tip: putting a hole in the bottom of the can or even using the p38 can save you a lot of pain getting the stuff out of the can by letting air in one side while you dump it out the other
Thanks
Warsaw Pact pattern armies issue soldiers mess kits, including two metal pots/pans (one shallow, one deep), which can be used to reheat or cook food over a fire or tablet stove. Unless I'm mistaken, the cans in most of these rations aren't designed for use over a flame. Subjected to those kinds of temperatures, the can may release toxic compounds into the food. If you must reheat cans, do so in boiling water whenever possible. Most canned food, including Kasha with meat, is safe to eat cold. Not nearly as good, but safe.
Yo you should try that sweetened condensed milk with pancakes, its my favourite pancake topping. You can also find sweetened condensed milk in the states in the baking aisle or in a mexican store in canned form, it's called Lechera.
Wow I bet that is good
But Mexican one is a quite different from Belarusian/Russian variants.
@@KitbashedSurvival or with Banana bread
I had exactly the same thoughts as you when I saw the stove. That along with the matches would be great in a survival kit.
When we were issued rations that came in a can we use to dent the can and put the whole can in water and boil. When the dint popped out it would be heated through. Had to be careful the can didn’t explode and you didn’t get splattered with out food when you opened the can.
I never got a ration with a can in it. I wondered how to heat one, but even a youtube search didnt give me any useful results. thanks.
You know what. Delete boil and add place on top of a hexi stove. Remove after dent pops out shake then carefully pierce the lid. Be careful of hot liquid from the can. Be careful you don’t overheat the can. It can explode. Sorry getting old and mixed up boil in a bag with cooking tins.
Great video
Belarus has one of the best quality meat and dairy products in the world in addition to potato.
The Kisel is traditional East Slavic dish (it means 'sour'). Yes, it's considered dish and not a drink as it's supposed to be gelatinous.
Personally not a big fan of it since childhood, however, it's very healthy and rich in vitamins. So now as a grown up adult, I'll probably put some of them in my bug out pack.
Right on
You live in Belarus? @0bserver
the cookies look like the short bread cookies you can get from the states...nice review thanks for sharing🙃
18:31 sounds like Santa reviewing a homemade cookie
Totally unrelated.. but, I've recently become obsessed with Propane lanterns and different mantles..... would love to see you review/discuss them.
Borden makes their sweet-and-condensed milk in a squeezable pack now. My kids use it for cooking, and making hot beverage drinks. We keep it in the fridge when not in use.
Cool review and nice food. Where do you get them from? Can we have some links to these things please? thank you.
LOL!! Loved it when the cat popped his head in. As a cat owner myself, I totally understand.
Yep!
That stuff looks amazing but if I was out in the field I think I would like something a little lighter than tinned goods. If they made simple changes like those powdered fruit juices into small tablets it would just save so much space.
This one does look appetizing
Steve keeping us wanting so here I am.
This looked like an incredible ration. They are really looked after out there.
Lol no they arent
stir the kisiel when adding water. kisiel is kinda like jello ish in America ...
so good
try the Cholula SWEET HABANERO it will change your life. I travel out of my way to go to the 1 store in the city that carries that variety of Cholula... usually just orig and green
And one sad thing about ration that there is no unique things in it for belarusians, cuz u can buy almost all stuff in the regular shop
I would still put "Tabasco" or "Tapito" on it. Believe it or not I was typing that when you mentioned that very culinary option.
(30:25), What does the peanut guy have hanging from his left arm? (These long shows are my favorite)
canteen
It is possible that the cutlery is made of bamboo, which is a natural anti-bacterial product.
Dang that man as such a sweet tooth... fudge as already sweet and condensed milk in as well as brown sugar...
It's almost like someone went to Cost Plus and filled a box from their imported foods section.
It's faster and cheaper if the Ministry of Defense changes the supplier for rations. Also, the "civilian" packaging of food is not so noticeable in the garbage heap (if the soldier does not buy the packaging in the ground).
I get the feeling that they load them up that way so you got something to put back or eat on the Run my experience with combat rations is you eat them quick and usually cold
36:42 Are you Eric from Eric's trains?
What pan did you use to eat?
The wafer bar is pronounced Vitba. You would be interested to know that they also come in sweetened condensed milk flavor.
Wow I bet that’s good!
@@KitbashedSurvival It's weird, but they consider that a flavor there all unto itself.
I can tell you didn't like that Ration 🤣 In my time in the USMC 88-92 that Ration would have done more
harm than good as all of us would have been fighting each other for its contents, thus, rendering us combat
ineffective 🤣
Haha
All that products are from the shelves of grocery store. Total price is around 10 dollars. Maybe less
Can I put in a kit review request? I'd like to see the 5Col V2 Survival Kit
Sure thing
For when you have to use the portable stove, what about fliping the can every so often to even out the cooking? Yea that requires grabbing a hot can but if you have the ability to that's what I'd suggest.
You can’t heat it up without opening the top or it will explode.
I'd say those cookies are similar to Bevita. My favorite is blueberry, btw.
Right on
Cats are like, hey dad's warming up our canned food this time.
Did you get this from a website? Couldn’t see any on eBay or Amazon, saw them on a tie not sure If I can trust it, they’re $80 each.
I paid 85 plus shipping from MRE Mountain.
if you stand the opened can of food in a mess tin with boiling water it won't burn onto the bottom of the can (that's what we British infantrymen used to do in the 80s)
Nice tip, thanks!
None of these foods are military specific. You can get that stuff in any Russian (and I suppose Belorussian) grocery store. You may try looking for a Russian or European market in your area.
That's what I like about it.
Nice. Steve1989 vibes, though he wouldn't approve much of the tray.
This makes most other ration packs look a bit ordinary.
Why do they not include a multi vitamin especially B and C vitamins. As not much vegetables and no fresh fruit?
Am I missing something? How would you drink the coffee or drinks in the field if they don't give you a cup?
Soldiers usually have a mess tin or canteen on them
Personal cup/canteen is standard issue.
4:42 Mr. Planter goes to the gym. 😂🤣
lol
I know Russian and it says that the pate is made from turkey liver
The Peter Brown of MREs
That looked like it was made for winter. I’m curious to know if they have seasonal rations. Thanks for sharing, looked delicious 🤤
I've wondered the same thing myself.
Also Rogachev condensed milk is the best belarusian condensed milk
It’s delicious for sure
You should try some Brazilian combat rations, I think you'd like it a lot.
I’ve got one, it’s in the queue to be reviewed
That stuff looks good but holy hell some of those mre are expensive
They're already pricey and then the shipping adds more to it.
I'm in the UK. I bought a lovely Lithuanian ration in January for about £8. Now they're closer to £20!
@@nicolab2075 sadly everything is going up
@@joemorganeatmyshortschannel thanks obama
Shelf prices for content of this ration is about 10 bucks
I believe the wet wipes have a resealable lid on top of the package. 🤔
Yeah... and they ALWAYS dry out eventually. I now package mine individually folded into a tiny wad in a very tiny ziplock bag (I mean TINY!). Then, before I seal it I pop in an extra shot of hand sanitizer. Then I seal all four sides with sticky tape. Makes a tiny pkt about the size of a large postage stamp (and don't ANYBODY ask 'What's a postage stamp...'). I have an EDC with 115 items in it... Not too big. About the size of a large sweet potato. Drops into the bottom of my handbag neat as anything.
Condesce milk has a lot of calories and yes the date is 03 August.
That's probably why they have it in the ration to begin with...a lot of calories for the soldiers.
That's quite the MRE, I think the only thing I'd add would be some "Dental care" chewing gum. I think this was the first time I've seen ham pate.
I think we would call it devilled ham.
The cookie your thinking of is. Probably Lorna dune.
Nah, Lorna Dune's are more dry than these. But that's close!
RUclips should require every video to include a kitty.
I second that!
The soldiers probably used mess kits to heat the food, not the cans.
You’re right
I can see that Belarus knows how to take care of and feed their military.
But, they don't have it)
@@kyzma4444yea, half their military doesn't want to be there lol
I enjoy all your videos... But today i had to cook something it made me very hungry...
Oh no!
You can buy most of these components domestically including can sweetened condensed milk and I'm sure if you shop around you can find it in the pouch
When one MRE ration better than a whole Belarusian army.
you know it's good when the cat wants some too
Yea looks great.but,,I’m a caffeine addict I’d have to throw some tea bags and sugar packets in my pockets!.,
,!maybe a real set of silverware other than that great man!! Oh one more thing winters in that part of the world are pretty bad fats like in the stew are very nessesary!!
you could just stick the can in the kettle n let it boil hot
International dating methods is always day month year every country in the world pretty much uses that method that way if their soldiers find something of food that is edible and another military camp they understand that it's good or not good based on the date
As with all former Eastern Bloc countries, it is not so much the quality of the Ration that matters, it is how many of them actually make it to the troops in the field. The better the ration, the better it is for corrupt bastards to siphon away and sell on the open market, after all.
I would love to buy this so bad. Can’t find anywhere I can get it from. If anyone is in the UK England and you can let me know where I can buy it please do.
You could try sending...mre-empire..an email and see if they can help or try contacting other sites. That's all you can do really as I think they are pretty rare over here in UK 👍
You could try looking for a Russian market. A lot of bigger cities in the US have them. You wouldn't find an assembled kit, but you could find many of the components.
Eat the Kasha and beef for breakfast...
Why don't you just boil water then place the can in the boiling water to heat up. You just Crack the lid
Kickback survival I want that can😂
Can I have that candy bar?
Tell me you cleaned the fork after the cat had a go. You seem to enjoy that one a lot, though maybe its for colder climes with all the fat in it.
the cat adds flavor.
Cats get anymore of that stuff.
👍
I was in the US Air Force in the '80s and the MREs they we're serving us we're terrible
Yeah, the U.S. rations and MRE's have never been the best tasting things.
that looked nommy. id have eaten just about all that too :)
You won't eat USA MRE everyday if your sane.
Did he just call is "Cack-Zap"??
SHOW THE CATS
Hi Jessie!
His name is Chessie 🐱
@@KitbashedSurvival Thank you! Hi Chessie!
You are asking for terminally elevated blood sugar levels...
That whole Ration screamed protein and energy, a very healthy ration. They sure know how to feed their soldiers.
Say what you will about their politics, they know how to make a good ration
Don't care for the feel of the wooden utensils when I eat, but I guess a small price to pay to save the planet. Good looking food, and good review.
She's PRETTY!
Cans and crackers
All disposable silverware in Europe is now wood, as plastic has been banned. It's horrible to use.
That's what I guessed, it was some environmental thing.
@@KitbashedSurvival yeah, saving the environment by chopping trees.
@@DanSlotea bamboo
@@stuartaminion511 not all of them are bamboo
I'm so glad I wasn't a Belarus soldier the canned stuff looks disgusting. Ours where much better down under.
Australia?
kitbashed survival cheating on his girlfriend with a combat ration.
Ukrainian rations from the looks of them aren’t has good as the Russian rations . Belarus is another that looks absolutely delicious
First
One thing I can’t stand is a grown man sucking his fingers! Can you spell COVID ?
alright
Yeah, ok that's fair enough At least you didn't do as one ration reviewer did. Reviewed a Russian Ration and decided to play the Russian Anthem. That's somewhere between being grossly insensitive and actively supporting Russian Terrorism.
He got unsubscribed and reported very quickly.
Yeah that's a bit inappropriate.
Which one...?
Sorry but you had talked too much bye
sorry, your comment is too wordy. bye.
"you had talked too much" ?
Oh for God's Sake! Why is it that the insulting comments always read as if they were written by an illiterate 5yr old?
Put in water. Boiling.
Grahm cracker maybe.
Why were you worried that it might be spoiled when it was packaged last year???? MREs and other rations are required to have really long shelf lives! Even if it were five years out of date it should be fine. Otherwise why make the damn things???
