I will never understand TNA's obsession with "creating" wrestlers. They had about a dozen wrestlers you could legitimately say were some of the very best in the world, and yet time and time again they had to put over guys who couldn't wrestle. Instead of getting the top indie talent or those overlooked, they thought they could create something from little to nothing. And then they complain about nobody being a star, particularly their homegrown talent, and it's because they had to put over the guys coming in from WWE (in a fashion that didn't get themselves over as well), and then put over guys like Rob Terry and a couple dozen others who were pushed to the moon despite not being able to carry a five minute TV match.
Rob Terry's push really came when Bischoff was hired at TNA, he kinda wanted to make another Goldberg. Rob was pretty much copy-paste of Goldberg, he's this big dude that shows up and does squash match and he was even given jackhammer as his finishing move. However he was apparently totally clueless and had zero ring awareness so they were forced to just drop him. Oh and people didn't really like him because it was super obvious he has no idea what he's doing.

He had the “steroid wobble” movement as I like to call it. Lots of wrestlers on the roids tended to move like they’d shit themselves. Probably because they had so much muscle that it actually hindered them.
I watched TNA during the British invasion era and I was looking forward to the big guy getting stuck in... but for months he just stood there. It was so noticeable he was on the wrong job.

robbie was a great wrestler and the bro jersey shore gimmick was good for its time since jersey shore was one of the most popular shows on tv at the time
I think it'll help folks who talk about steroids to know exactly what steroids can, and CANNOT do. Steroids cannot tone your muscles for you. That's done via low weight, high reps, & loads of cardio (& dieting). Steroids simply help build muscle mass, and Rob Terry; that man doesn't have the body frame to build that level of muscle mass without roids, which would explain why he's the polar opposite of agile. His body wasn't meant to house that much mass
By the way, smart move with Garrison Cade, RIP to him, he was really good, had some great tag title runs, he coulda been a lot better over time had he not died so tragically young. I also never realized Robbie E is Robert Stone until I watched this video! I was like wait a second... crazy! Good for him though, Robbie E wasn't THAT bad he was entertaining and decent in the ring, hell hes great compared to Robbie T
The only reason they had Rob Terry take a chair shot to the head was because WWE had just banned them and they wanted to take a shot at them. Not realising that they were banned for a serious reason and not just because they were PG.
90% of the job is done by the person receiving the chokeslam. After all, if Jim Stephanie Sterling's chokeslams are decent, that seriously undermines Rob Terry having good chokeslams.
Me personally, when I think of Rob Terry, there is only one moment that comes to mind, and it infuriates me to no end for a couple of reasons. If you remember that one chair shot Homicide gave to Terry, you would be angry too when given context. This moment was booked specifically by TNA to give WWE the middle finger, cause this was around the same time WWE banned chair shots to the head out of concussion and CTE concerns. Even if you do not like Terry personally, there is no need for him to risk a concussion and bleed out like that just cause your superiors want to say "F U" to a promotion which you will probably never work for. You hate WWE, fine. You want to flip them the middle finger, it's a free country. But you do NOT need to risk anybody's health for such a petty reason, and this is what infuriates me to no end when it comes to TNA's penchant for taking shots at WWE.
From what I've heard, Rob was totally clueless and had zero ring awareness and he was suppose to protect himself from chairshot how wrestlers usually do, however him being clueless he messed up the timing and actually got hit by the chair. Considering this isn't the first time people mentioned Rob messed up things by being totally clueless, I am inclined to believe them.
You can say that he is roided and he is boring as a wrestler, but my guy, his hair is on point, he has a chad haircut, I mean Enzo Amore has a stupid and pointless haircut, but not Terry.
now I remember him god that chair shot was AWFUL also as someone who has had many head injuries in my lifetime I felt it, like my body tried to do what it does when your injured. I felt the rush. It was bad.
Personally I thought Robbie E was great. Most wrestlers take a while to grow into their gimmick, it feels like they are pretending or acting a part, not Robbie E, he came in totally comfortable in the gimmick, it felt completely natural, like that's who he was. He didn't seem like a guy pretending to be someone he isn't. He had charisma, good mic skills, and he was funny. The fist pumping thing was hilarious. To me, Robbie E was one of the best things in TNA. The rest of those names you ramble off at the beginning, I agree were terrible.
I've watched some Rob Terry matches out of curiosity. Didn't mind him too much apart from his striking, which looks like he's throwing shots underwater.
I love people that pretend PWI and TWO are credible sources... they don’t base the information in their publications on anything other than opinion and their own personal feelings.
All honesty Rob should have been protected longer like how Batista was when he first started. If you think back Batista was almost squashed by Goldberg and others trying to protect triple.H but he would come back with limited moves like the spine buster electric chair a few clothes lines and then finally the batista bomb which took a while for him to make a sit out powerbomb look like his own. Tna did not and still never will have the writing to create a monster big man like that. Yes he had limitations but also he needed guidance. Or maybe dude didn't care or have the passion to put the right step forward

This is true
"Shuddup For I Smack You One" funny phrase 😂😂😂😂 Great Channel Bro.
The scary thing is that I WATCHED TNA EVERY WEEK and I don’t remember much about Rob Terry. It’s like my mind purged itself of him.
Not since Test's brief stint in TNA in this case going by his actual name Andrew Martin (RIP) have I seen such a roidy magoo.
Who remembers the one time when Rob Terry danced in the ring?😁😁😭😭😭
By the way, smart move with Garrison Cade, RIP to him, he was really good, had some great tag title runs, he coulda been a lot better over time had he not died so tragically young. I also never realized Robbie E is Robert Stone until I watched this video! I was like wait a second... crazy! Good for him though, Robbie E wasn't THAT bad he was entertaining and decent in the ring, hell hes great compared to Robbie T
"Rob Terry won a shot at the X Division Title"
Ah yes, because when you think of the X Division, you think of big, uncoordinated, immobile sweaty men.
The only reason they had Rob Terry take a chair shot to the head was because WWE had just banned them and they wanted to take a shot at them. Not realising that they were banned for a serious reason and not just because they were PG.
Yeah, lol, was a boneheaded decision by TNA.
One positive thing about rob terry: he had a decent chokeslam... But so did hurricane and heidenreik
Rob Terry, Gregory Helms and Heidenreich. One of these things is not like the others.
I saw Terry at a CVS one night.
I remember seeing a giant Welshman in a pink sweater- wouldn’t you?
And no, I didn’t talk to him.
Lol, when was this?
You can say that he is roided and he is boring as a wrestler, but my guy, his hair is on point, he has a chad haircut, I mean Enzo Amore has a stupid and pointless haircut, but not Terry.
now I remember him god that chair shot was AWFUL
also as someone who has had many head injuries in my lifetime I felt it, like my body tried to do what it does when your injured.
Agreed. I love the matching sweaters gimmick too!
Robbie E was sports entertainment all the way. WWE would’ve got that gimmick SUPER over
Funny seeing Scott Steiner make steroid jokes.
Especially when he calls them "vitamins", shots fired at his old friend Hogan! 😂
Orlando Jordan's gimmick hear reminds me of an OTT
Velveteen Dream.
Brooke was the most EXCITING THING IN THIS VIDEO
Been watching your 2010 wwe vs tna war eps and im sure you hear this a lot but they are bloody hilarious
Yeah I know. I would just listen to him going through TNA episodes, they are so funny.
Those videos are highly underrated & deserve more views.
The only thing I remember about Terry was the feud with Robbie E.
A smaller roster can offer more original gimmicks and more mic talented stars. Wwe was also having that problem since 2016
I've watched some Rob Terry matches out of curiosity. Didn't mind him too much apart from his striking, which looks like he's throwing shots underwater.
Hundred percent agree with your comments and definitely, steroids is a factor the man was definitely on steroids
No doubt!!
Rob is a great dude. He's a bodybuilder, people need to realize that.
Rob Terry = The new Nia Jax. 'nuff Said!
Dammmm
Are you gonna review lockdown and extreme rules 2010?
Yea at some point as it’s part of the Monday night war series!
This is all good but PWI ranked him 67 out of their top 500 wrestlers list ....
I love people that pretend PWI and TWO are credible sources... they don’t base the information in their publications on anything other than opinion and their own personal feelings.
Scott Steiner never took steroids. He was made of steroids. See the difference?
All honesty Rob should have been protected longer like how Batista was when he first started. If you think back Batista was almost squashed by Goldberg and others trying to protect triple.H but he would come back with limited moves like the spine buster electric chair a few clothes lines and then finally the batista bomb which took a while for him to make a sit out powerbomb look like his own. Tna did not and still never will have the writing to create a monster big man like that. Yes he had limitations but also he needed guidance. Or maybe dude didn't care or have the passion to put the right step forward
Oh Gosh now I suddenly remembered Robbie E and Robbie T...
Rod Terry, the Welsh roider... That one cracked me up.
I know you're a wrestling channel but do you know how to beat Chai in YOU Arcade in Shenmue 1?
I did it easily
Has there ever been a Steiner promo where he didn't stumble of his words probably what makes them classics...
