  • Ten Count is a rap song for children and grownups too! On a general level, it's about the importance of numbers. But there's another underlying message: when you encounter a problem or a tricky situation that might lead you too quickly to an action or behavior that you might regret later on, simply stop and count to ten - and do it again - in order to give you time to get your thoughts together to make better decisions. There aren't a lot of rap or hip hop songs designed for all-ages, and I hope this works to change that. Rap is a wonderful art form, and I had a great time working on this. I added a slightly retro feel to the music, as a nod to the rappers of the 70s and early 80s.
For those interested, the music was done with analog synthesizers to get that warm, rich sound that many of us love! The synthesizers I used are the Prophet 6, OB6, and Minimoog Model D.
You can find the song on iTunes, Spotify, Google Music, Amazon, and more!
