Without a doubt, the best progressive rock band. Hail Gentle Giant!
Absolutely agree with you a gazillion percent
@@1359401 HAIL!
Yep so damn right.....50 years on still sound totally unique, totally brilliant
I'm 24 and a brand new fan of this band. I'm sharing your music with everyone you are all the greatest!👏👏👏
You are right. GG have few peers.
Same here. I´m 21-year old from Russia. Discovered the band just about two months ago und can´t stop listening to it.
@@markwetlow congrats for discovering the greatest band ever.
@@2wayplebney Actually they have a lot of peers but not many sound like GG.
Nah, thank YOU for those wonderful albums.
Thanks to Gentle Giant for the inspiration that set me on fire in the early 70s!
The GIANT never sleeps , GIANT FOREVER YOUNG
Evey time I see a movie of Ray, he's always smiling. Rest in peace bro. We love you, and we miss you. ❤
IT is/was a privlige and honor to vote for the greatest most criminally underated band ever. I think i can speak for all fans by saying thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the kick ass damm great legendary genius music you have given us.
Underated? No. How do you explain the indurance and the new fans coming from every decade since the seventies? They were commercially unsuccessful when you compare to other bands from that era . They certainly did not appeal to everybody, this was the deal from the beginning anyway. But underated, they never were.
@@danielg335 Yes i stand by my comment-they were and still are although it has improved in last few years give or take definetly criminally underated especially when you compare them in terms of overall record sales, radio airplay concert sales and attendance promotion accolades and recognition in general.Bands like genesis Yes. jethro tull. Elp.rush zappa etc (i could keep going and name a lot more) were given and had way more noteriety than gg in all of those catagories.
Underrated is used way too much. Except in the case. I would agree 1359401%
Yes! You speak for this fan when you say this-- THANKS!
And much love to you, too, GG! My faves since i was introduced (via Octopus) in '76!
@@danielg335 Misunderstanding the word "underrated" and denying that GG were that seems like a pretty weird hill to die on
Hii
I listend Giant first time when i lived in Rio 1976. I bought a imported album ( in a glass " fantastic" house) and splash! My music vision was changed in presto!
After this, Giant went along my entire music life. Doing partnership with names like Mozart, Bach, Beethoven (the trio) Miles, Hancock, Zappa, Duke E., G. Duke, Genesis, And many many...
So....Thank you guys. Today i have 61 y.o, federal police officer in Brazil, wife, two daughters, a dog, a house, books ( Rabelais one of then kk) and all of yours records, all in vinyl and also CD.
I would like post one off my favourote's giant songs. This is unfair to me and you, but...." pantagruel's nativity"...delicious!
Thanks Minear, Shulmans, Green, Weathers, Martin Smith (miss you), Malcon Mortimore, and more.
Thank you, much obliged to turn my life so special ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
All I can saw is what a Class Act.
I was lucky enough to know Ray, which for a dedicated fan from the 1970’s could only elicit the phrase “we’re not worthy “. Every band claims to be unique; Gentle Giant truly were.✌️
73,FAN,Grrretings Shulman Brothers Love this people
Thank you Gentlemen for awesome auditory memories! My drummer’s band Et Cetera opened up for you guys in Montreal eons ago! What he remembers most is the courtesy that was given o them by the members of Gentle Giant.
Et Cetera! One of the greatest bands (even though they released only one album) from the prolific Québec prog scene of the 70's...
@No Enemies Here. Pierre Dragon!? Awesome drummer!
Oh my goodness, Et Cetera....Sloche also toured with Gentle Giant.
“I bet you thought... we didn’t love you!” 💞😆
Gentle Geniuses!
Gentle giant genius. The world love you.
I'm 57 years old. GG broke up when I was in 9th grade. I never had a chance to enjoy their music as a youngster. I'd always heard of GG, but my prog leanings focused on YES and FOCUS and CAMEL before moving onto The Flower Kings, Neal Morse, Porcupine Tree etc. Then Steven Wilson did the remixes, and I gave Octopus a listen. Can I say that for the past two years I have been OBSESSED with this band, looking up every piece of footage, reading their history, and enjoying the heck out of their interviews. I totally respect their decision not to reunite, but...but...but it would be the greatest musical happening in my life given they are still all around. I am so happy I discovered GG, and will continue to listen to them for years to come.
I've been a fan of GG since late 90s when I started to buy vinyls... I was 18 yrs old, Pure magic!
How is possible to be so great! Gentle Giant is a Giant! Thank You!!!
& thank you for all the wonderful music! 🙏🏼😎❤♾
The soundtrack of my youth.
Mine too!!
Saw Gentle Giant at least 4 times.. Awesome memories, and still have most of the Music as well....
My heros! Uncomparable!
YOU'VE BEEN (AND YOU ARE ),
A GREAT PART OF OUR LIVES.....WE THANK YOU FOR THIS FANTASTIC MUSIC!!!
Thank you back and happy new year wishes from Denmark
These guys were beyond compare with their skills 👏 🙌
I attended just one GG concert.
The concert is on the latest box set.
The concert is known as
"CHESTER, 1977."
I was born in Chester, fourth generation Chesterite, but we moved out before the concert.
Another band that began in Chester, 1953, that many UK older rockers would be familiar with was Bill Haley and the Comets!
I believe I know why the Chester show made the box set. The concert was held at the Widner University fieldhouse. Between the sound crew and the band members, Gentle Giant turned that facility from a fieldhouse to an opera house! When Ray played his violin in quad during the show, you could feel the sound move around the quad matrix with such detail!
The remastering of the GG cataloge albums was brilliant!
Charlie
I love you all too much! ❤️
You're guys ate the best!!!! the greatest prog band! thanks for everything
Gluttonous bastards
Muchas Felicidades y Gracias x tan gran legado Musical, su fascinante concepto musical enriquece, á las futuras generaciones. Son unos Gigantes. Mucha salud desde México.

I wish all of you and your families to stay well and a very happy new year !
A huge THANK YOU to all the boys in the band, who have made my musical life worth living all these years. Without you, there would be no Advent. Cheers, gents! 🎹
I discovered Gentle Giant on 2021, i think it's the kind of music that any composer would like to achieve. Thank you!
Heard GG for the first time in 74 you have been my favorite band ever since I was lucky enough to see you live twice. I have been to many great concerts yours were the best.
Proclamation was my music event of the the year have watched it at least 10 times and listened to it more so thanks to all the Boys in the Band here's hoping we see more of you! HAIL!
Thank YOU , guys!👏👏👏👏🇧🇷
Merci a vous pour les les chefs d'oeuvres , les Génies de la musique !! Bravo ;-) ❤🙏💪🎼🥰
Great to see them all.. Loved this band for many years now. :) Best wishes to them all
A very special progressive style, thanks folks for your music.
I love GG, saw them twice, both times in Cincinnati. There is prog rock, and there is GG, in a class by themselves.
They really seem like nice, friendly and warm people! One of the greatest progressive rock bands of all time.
Love you guys!!
Great New Year !
I didn't even know there was a vote for smth like that. Anyway, I must say I had like twenty-twenty five pleasant shocks in my life. One of them happened when I first listened to your songs. May, 2002. The day that changed my life. Well, there were other days of the kind. But 4-5% of whole life's impressions matter that much.
Vi ho visto suonare a Roma nel '76 quando avevo 15 anni, vi ho finalmente rivisto tutti insieme ora che ne ho 60 !!!!!
Gentle Giant was and is my favorite band of all time. I saw you guys 3 times in the New York area in the 1970s (I grew up in north Jersey). I've never seen such an amazing collection of musicianship; every member commanding over the top skills and creativity - and all put together compositions that are still fresh today. You inspired me to play music and push myself. Don't stop. Please, don't stop. Rerecord. Make new recordings. Please play again. I want to hear more! Love you guys!!
Yes..I saw Gentle Giant in New York as well in the 70s.. I'm 68 now and my Son loves them
Love you guys!! Discover their music opened my mind completely. Thanks for the music, and for making my life happy!!♥️

🥰🥰🥰🥰 lovely band!!
I am Happy because I meet the GIANT . Giant never SLEEPS
Love you lads! Thanks for all the wonderful music.
Thanks for blessing our lives
Have been a huge fan for less than a week, and this is truly one of the greatest bands of all time
I haven't been able (or wanted) to get Gentle Giant out of my head for 50 years. The Proclamation Fan video is something that I have been dreaming of for decades. Just as soon as I can learn all the instruments our lads played so effortlessly back then, I sincerely hope to produce something at least vaguely similar. So, so much love from me to our lads. (And keep it up, Noah--you are genius, too.)
You must be really proud for what you did. Thanks.
All the best for you and thanks for some of the few decent compositions of the 20th century!
you deserve it
I still love Giant music !
Thank you gentle giants of music. Of the whole music ever made, ofc.
Life would not have been the same. Thanks GG
Love you guys.
Thank you guys for creating all of this amazing music!
Your fans are still rabid! I thank you for coming together to do this ...and Noah...great job!
Great Band!!!
Bless you lads!
I love you guys. I just do.
Playing the Game Ever from Spain A BIG New Yearr to EveryOne~~Õctopus HUGS =:)){
I have to thank YOU for this enormous good music that followed me for over 50 years!!! 🥰😍🤩
Thank You Guys !!!!!!!!!
Thank YOU guys and Happy New Year! A vaccinated and virus free one 👍🏻
This was amazing! Unfortunately I hadn't notice this fantastic Proclamation fan collaboration and so I couldn't participate. But I hope it will be repeated, I would like to suggest "Prologue" or "Just The Same". I saw GG live in Berlin 1975, unforgettable!
I was there as well! what a concert, Ray playing his violin solo, wow, just wow!
And allá the crew
Saludos desde México
I thank all Gentle Giant band members from the bottom of my heart for the most wonderful and inspiring music I have ever heard. I saw GG live on the Interview tour at Warwick University on 6 May 1976 (supported by a great Dutch band, Solution) and it was the most amazing evening of musical magic I will ever witness. Derek, Ray, Kerry, Gary & John - you were stunning!
Thank you! It was a honor to be in the video!
Let's do another one this year!
❤❤❤
From Brazil, thank you Gentle Giant, for all!!!
Your albums had a Gigantic impact on me when I was a teenager in the 70’s. There was no other band similar to yours. I have all of your albums and I still listen to them today. Absolutely beautiful and amazing music.
thank you so much :) i love your music :) all the best for 2021 and stay healthy :)
Awesome! So Giant!
Thank you all for doing this video and I wish you all a fabulous 2021 too. Hearing 'In A Glass House' as a spotty teenager in the 70's set me on the road to discovering more about this great band. Watching the backstage interview from 1980 the other week rammed it home that these guys must be geniuses to come up with all that music at so young an age, mind boggling, cheers!
Superb.
Genius!
Amo todos vocês Brothers Schulmann Gary Green e o Gênio Kerry Minnear
Вы замечательные!!!Большого здоровья вам и вашим близким!Спасибо за музыку!You are wonderful!!!Great health to you and your loved ones!Thank you for the music!
I don't ever bother saying GG is the best PROG band. Per my reckoning, they are most certainly amongst the top 5 bands in ALL genres, in the illustrious company of the Beatles and... well, you can fill the rest.
Obrigado velhos amigos! Isso é o que vocês são para mim: grandes velhos amigos de um tempo que não volta mais. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
