Temple City of Kanchipuram was an important center of Chola, Pallava and Vijaynagar empires. Kanchipuram is also famous for its highly valued Kanjeevaram Silk Sarees. Because of these Kanjivaram Pattu Sarees, Kanchipuram is known as the city of weavers. The weavers that make Kanjeevaram Sarees are part of a rich tradition. @@udz5480 no kanchi has trade with china even before benaras because of pallava dynasty that is why kanchi became 1st silk city in India( bodhidharma master of kungfu was also from kanchi), according to hindu scriptures also kanchi is the place where gods get their clothes which is made of lotus, and also kanchi is only city among saptapuri(seven holy cities) which centers around female goddess(kamakshi). The others are kasi(vishwanath), ayodhya(rama), haridwar(vishnu),ujjain(mahakal),mathura(krishna),dwaraka(krishna)

Iss saree mein toh aadha india basta hai❤️....and this entire process looks so technical i hope the price for it rises for the benefit of the weaver because the one who is going to purchase could surely afford some thousand more for this saree but the weaver has to run his entire family with that 5k for 1 saree that he gets....
It's sure a luxury for the purchaser but for the weaver it's serving his basic need....

साड़ी की कीमत ठीक है मगर इतनी महंगी साड़ी लेना सभी के बसकी बात तो है नहीं। मगर जो लोग इसे खरीद सके वो जरूर ध्यान दे🙏

बुनकरो की सैलरी और होनी चाहिए इतना प्यारा काम किया है। जो साड़ी मार्केट मे 1.3लाख की है उसके लिये बुनकर को मात्र 5K बहुत कम है। तमिलनाडु सरकार को भी इसकी तरफ ध्यान देना चाहिए और इसको बढ़ावा देने के लिये परियोजना लना चाहिए।

Let him speak in his language,so we hear original words for warp, weft, rangrej etc. Original craftsman vocabulary needs to be preserved.

If they pay weavers only 5K than it's bound to happen that the next generation will not get into this art. Weavers should get atleast 50% of the sale price of a saree
Customer should remember that and not bargain too much and the shop keeper has to keep minimum overhead charges for the Saree to be sold at a viable rate 🤔
मेहनताना तब मिले जब बाजार में भाव मिले , बाजार का भाव बहुत कम है इन साड़ियों का वास्तव में 10% ज्यादा भाव हो तब बुनकर को कुछ मिले

Yes Government should support these silk waiver to protect the traditional silk saree even in Assam they should provide support to the muga silk waiver and muga farmer to protect this traditional silk of India
I'm shocked to see they do 10 days work so hard and get only 5k. An in Bengaluru Noida graphics designers who do work easily in computer in good AC room drinking tea enjoy snack earn morethan twice or thrice in 10 days even some freelance designers who just copy and paste earn more than him. It's shame our govt give more importance to western profession compare to indian old gold profession. His work is so difficult im guessing just by seeing this and he gets nothing seriously govt should promote this profession too like our IT sector professions.
