Digimon stopped being something exclusive for kids since tamers, after that games and some anime were more focused for teenagers rather than kids with some exceptions
If you watched the sub version of digimon adventure the dialog is very different. Hiw Kairi would rather sacrifice herself so that Myotismon would stop, Puppetmon and his schemes. Tamers up it a notch with its dark themes. Sure digimon has its goofy moments but the story always have stakes in it.
What about Leomon being killed and absorved by Belzemon in Tamers so that her master could lose all hope, remember her deceased mother and finally fuse with an erasing interdimentional being for finding life meaningless

I find it kind of funny that out of all the kids, only Minoru is absolutely safe no matter what route you get, while I personally expected him tothere is a risk to dying in our first fight with Piedmon
If this game ever got a DLC or sequel with Minoru being a survivor in some timeline canon thing, I could see him becoming a sort of anti hero…….that are a digi fused killer
You get the impression they were teasing him suffering a similiar fate to Ryo and Shuuji, if they hadn't worked out that Digimon reflect their Partner's psyche and he managed to make up with Falcomon.
It was hinted with Labramon's evolution to Cerberusmon. She was concerned that her desire for more power led Labramon to take on a ferocious evolution. You know I think the only reason Minoru doesn't die is because Takuma never did. Half of the deaths are resulted from another death. Shuuji cause of Ryo Aoi cause of Saki Kaito cause of Miu
This game made me remember WHY I should be scared of Wendigomon. Yet... I can't hate Shuuji, even though Lopmon and their line are my favourite Digimon. I know how pressure to succeed can screw someone up, even when the one doing the pressuring has the best intentions. How stress and anger will be misdirected onto other innocents if you feel you can't take it out on the deserving party, or any healthy way. How realising that you're taking it out on those who don't deserve it is INCREDIBLY difficult, and pulling yourself away from old habits is even harder. Shuuji was lucky. Ryo was able to make him see what he was doing. The Professor was there to help Shuuji redirect his aspirations and emotions at a time when he needed that direction in how to unlearn old destructive habits and form new healthier ones, to be a good role model Shuuji could latch onto instead of his father. And of course, Lopmon who never stopped believing in Shuuji's true heart, able to forgive him for the past and help Shuuji realise that he could choose NOT to be like his father and instead be BETTER. Once Shuuji was snapped out of his self-destructive funk, he was able to become better because of the support he had around him. And I'm glad.
I hate how many people miss the point of Shuuji’s character; I’m going to admit that I’m gonna post this rant anywhere I see discussion of him, because it’s important. I get why so many hate him, he clearly is awful to Lopmon, but to find him entirely unsympathetic is ignoring literally everything else the game tells you about not only Shuuji and Lopmon, but the Kemonogami themselves; this game makes explicit what was once implicit in other series; in this, the partner Digimon are quite literally the other half of their partner’s souls. Why they have an instant connection is because they ARE each other; to Shuuji, Lopmon is LITERALLY a physical manifestation of everything he and his father especially hates about himself; Lopmon is small, scared, soft, and let’s be real here with how he talks, somewhat sniveling and whiny, his vocal tone really emphasizes how weak and small he is. Lopmon IS Shuuji, but he’s everything Shuuji hates about himself, manifested in a physical form, in a horrifying situation where everyone is relying on him to take care of them, and yet also resent him for it. Yes, Shuuji is erratic and a terrible leader, but because he’s the oldest and that’s how Japanese culture works, none of them ever really challenge the idea that he should be leader, they simply resent him, ignore him, and plan around him, while still placing pressure on him to be the leader. A lot of the game’s story revolves around how Japanese culture around mental health fucking sucks and gets these kids killed; the idea that when someone is suffering, you should leave them alone to sort things out themselves is what kills Ryo, and the idea that the eldest should be leader only accelerates Shuuji’s downfall. Note, also, how the game directly after his death tells the player that Kemonogami reflect their partner’s mental state, and that Arukenimon manipulated Shuuji by suggesting if he sacrificed himself, everyone else would get to live; Wendimon is quite literally the manifestation of Shuuji’s suicidal desires, come to life and murdering him as a result of those desires.
I'm pretty sure he was being reminded of his dad beating him for results and his parents high expectations of him, which to him was the only way to motivate lopmon to perform. He just snapped under the pressure and stress in addition to the world's effect on people
True but still Shuuji was just horrible my goodness, poor Lopmon! And everyone else was bad too for looking the other way. Ryuji was amazing for actually speaking up and standing up for others, I really like how saving Ryuji saves everyone.
Shuuji I as I understand, isnt a bad character, but they really script him from start to finish in the first playthrough as awful, people really need to give him a second chance, he does make up for it in later playthroughs.
They kind of went towards the corpse party realm with Shuuji’s death, and with the sound effects and execution of book of shadows for Saki’s death, without the ‘gory’ details. The sound effects and brief blackout makes your imagination fill in what happened, and it’s extremely disturbing.😓
Thanks for posting these, i don’t think i could have suffered through the wrathful route on my own. Aoi and Saki are my favorites 😭 Labramon reaching for Aoi’s hand… it’s too sad 🥲
Thank you very much, you let us hear the voices and that makes even better this scenes, other people who upload this dont let even read the dialogs and is very annoying

@@minicle426 The moment he distrusts Falcomon kinda gives me a feeling he was supposed to have a death scene there by the end if they didn't patch things up
Just noticed Miu death was the only one doesnt have blood effect, probably it was because she was the younger one. IMO (Probably lot of you already figure out): 1) Moral is like you taking group survive as first priority, but do not take any risk or possibility that will lead any teammate to their death (Except for Kyo and Shuuji, of course). By learning their death, Moral lead to not losing any of team member life. 2) Wrafthful is like you are being selfish, even might risking your teammate and only focus to sole goal. Thus Aoi and Labramon turned into Plutomon, who wishing to have a peace and harmony for both human and Digimon world, even will achieve through force and erase any threatening for that goal. 3) Harmony is like you trying to avoid conflict, like making negotiation to make both of your team and enemy got benefit, which may have a risk to danger everyone. Such Kaito trying being reasonable during Piedmon negotiation. Miu death is perfect example of Harmony as she still going to find a helpless voic, dispite on dangerous situation. aaaannnddddd TBH I really enjoying Shuuji's death. That is what he deserved after treating cute, innocent Lopmon like a shit. Thank you dev for letting me watch his death for first gameplay. I really hate his character and personality. Lets hope 2nd playthrough to change my opinion about him after part 6. Edit : Shuuji got my respect on Truthful Route. Kyo is the best 👍🏻
On Shuuji's defense tho, he was neglected as a child because of emotional abuse and abandonment by his father. The same thing happens with him doing the exact same thing to Lopmon. In short, he was prijecting his failures to Lopmon rather than being understanding and empowering the little guy.
@@BEATSofDevil I watched Digimon since first Adventure and also playing lot of Digimon game, and I do understand Digimon, especially Dark Digivolving which causing from either dark heart of they partner, or from their own hatred, or from wrong thingking of their partner. But however, in Shuuji case, at first he is trying hard to become a leader just because he is leader at campsite or he is the oldest there. Nothing wrong to take rensponsibility there but Shuujin become too selfish for some reason, before he become more desperate as he remembered he is failure to his father. And at first he is scared to all Digimon and dont even want associated with them including Lopmon, but after he keep saw Lopmon is coward and reminding his own failure, he keep be harsh towards Lopmon and violently beat him. That is the most reason why I hate him so much before I play truthful route! I hated Ryo and Shuuji from the start, but when I played the true end, I actually started really liking the both of them. I actually really liked how I grew to dislike and like most of the characters as time went on, like I didn't really like Saki and Miu was being bratty but I got really atta he'd to them while I ended up disliking Minoru for what he did to Falcomon. I also found Kaito to be a cool character until the Harmony route. I really showed how people could change depending on their environment for better or worst and I loved it. the only Character I liked and continued liking from beginning to end was Aoi. I could handle her Wrath route but had to go through it cos Plutomon was one of my favourite Digimon lol
I've always thought digimon was a lot like Megami Tensei, and this game really makes me wonder if it's been an inspiration for the team Hell, Megaten demons were originally digital, too, and in said original novel series, the plot plays out a lot like Digimon stories tend to play out, especially regarding Loki
The backstory for this game had the director even state that Digimon aren't technically digital creatures, but youkai using the Digital world as a way to manifest, as they were previously able to in the Heian period through Shinto magic.
@@Cybersomnia Digimon are Digimon because of how humans perceive them. Also because they can be recognized by modern digital gadgets that are sensible to the distortions that Digimon manifest in the lower worlds. But Digimon are by nature higher dimensional ethereal beings coming from layers of reality transcending the Human World. They were originally yokai, shikigami, demons, spirits summoned through magic or sorcery or were subjugated as shikigami through onmyodo. Digimon are ethereal beings that have become tangible and visible through digital means. And they are the other half of their human partner soul/their other self. Digimon have been to the human world and shaped various myths/legends and mythological creatures since ancient times. Remember the intro for Tri? ""In the beginning: Within the universe existed the soulless creator Demiurgos, the true form of the world Idea, and a single shapeless soul in chaos. Demiurgos does not know of it's own existence, nor of the soul, nor of Idea. The world that was created is a shadow of the true world." The Japanese word for "Idea" [イデア] is specifically used in reference to Plato's philosophy about idealism, in which basically everything we see is a mere reflection of what is truly there. Hense, "the true form of the world." Since this is Digimon, he's talking about the Digital World here and how we see a world but really it's nothing but data altogether. Digimon works with Neoplatonic emanationism and gnosticism elements. The nature of the soul is closer to that of neoplatonic emanationism the philosophy of Plato stressing especially that actual things are copies of transcendent ideas and that these ideas are the objects of true knowledge apprehended by reminiscence. The DW is the perfect world of forms and ideas. The adopted concept of Platonism is that there is a higher reality, a true abstract existence that is responsible for all that is individual to exist. The concept of emantionism is that there are in fact innumerable layers of reality, one more abstract than the other, but in the end with all arising from a single higher and absolute layer.According to Emanationism, Creation occurs by a process of emanation - "out-flowing". The entire cosmos, and even all the gods and godheads beyond the cosmos, have come about through emanation. Just as the ocean forms its surface into waves, so the absolute forms create successive manifestations, successive entities. And these in turn create - or rather, emanate - further entities, and so on, with all these entities combining and interacting in the extraordinary network of existence. Emanationism is an idea in the cosmology or cosmogony of certain religious or philosophical systems. Emanation, from the Latin emanare meaning "to flow from" or "to pour forth or out of", is the mode by which all things are derived from the first reality, or principle. All things are derived from the first reality or perfect God by steps of degradation to lesser degrees of the first reality or God, and at every step the emanating beings are less pure, less perfect, less divine. Each of the levels of reality in the emanationist cosmology could be termed a "World". Here, "World" is a general term meaning any self-contained realm or universe of existence. One could equally well say "Universe", "Cosmos", "Sphere", "Realm", "Plane", "Horizon", "Reality", "State of existence", "State of consciousness", etc. The term "World" has been chosen simply because it is a useful general term. One could think of the relationship between each of these levels as being like "body and soul", "spirit and matter", or "creator and creature", in that each higher level is the soul, spirit, and creator of the level immediately below it; and the body, matter, and creature (created being) of the level immediately above it. Basically the structure of existence is divided into several layers with a physical and metaphysical difference between the layers. We humans are material beings with bodies composed of atoms, but we still have a soul that we are not able to interact with, wich is metaphysical. In an emanationist cosmology our world is located in a layer, in a layer above ours, our souls are as physical as our bodies in our layer, but these souls happen to have a new metaphysical correspondent just as the physical body has the soul. To each level of existence, there is a higher level with this physical/metaphysical difference. Our physical bodies have souls, souls have other souls (I will call it the second soul), the second soul has a third soul, and so on. Digimon follows the same cosmology. In short, it's nothing akin to universes in parallel to one another, which a superficial knowledge of all this stuff would lead to, nor is it the difference in between the Real and the Virtual/Digital, posited by the V-Pets and by anything following the lore of the V-Pets, but the relationship between a higher plane of existence and the one that's emanated from it. Idea or the Quantum Sea is the primordial world. The void of nothingness before creation. And Demiurge created the Human World from Idea wich eventually split in two. The World of Light who chose Evolution as its main aspect the essence of Evolution being Light being Platonistic such as Light = Truth = Love and so on. Light being an umbrella term inspired by the concept of Plato’s “Form of Good” ”. As such, everything that exists in the world of Digimon is in a way, an emanation of this primordial concept. The most direct way of thinking of “Light” is to think of it as encompassing the ideas of “Life”, “Existence”, “Evolution” and the “Positive Feelings” like “Love”, “Courage”, “Friendship” or even the ideas of “Law” and “Justice”. When the world was in chaos, it was the very world that decided to follow the concept of “Light” and so start to exist. This being the Digital World. And the world of Darkness. It's said that for neoplatonists "evil" is regarded as a non-entity, something that does not really exist and is seen as the privation of what really exists. Seeing the "Good" as the foundation of everything that exists, the "Evil" represents the lack of Goodness, the lack of Being, simply nonexistence. Just like Death is the privation of Life, Sin is the privation of Virtue or Darkness is privation of Light. As such Darkness” is an umbrella term for anything that isn’t represented by “Light”, this includes the concepts of “Death”, “Nothingness”, “Non-Evolution” and any of the “Negative Feelings”, including the “Seven Deadly Sins” that makes someone closer to “Evil” (Another thing that is also included in Darkness). You can think of Darkness as the void of nothingness that predates existence and is everything that will be once all of creation has been destroyed. The realm that mirrors this the best is the Dark Area. Other worlds of darkness being the Dark Ocean. A world of Darkness would be also the result of the Digital and Human Worlds combining leading to their collapse and the return to the void of nothingness before creation. That was Vamdemon/ Belial Vamdemon/Apocalymon's/Demon's goal. As a matter of fact Apocalymon is the avatar of the idea of not to evolve, the idea that rejects evolution that the Digital World rejected in its Genesis in order to even exist. The Human World is simply an imperfect emanation of the true form of the world. The world of forms and transcendent ideas and concepts. The Digital World.
I grew up with it and I'd watch it casually on TV sometimes if I had nothing else, but yeah it looks like they went all out with this game. Yeah it's crazy, reminds me a lot of old SMT games where the supporting characters would actually fuse themselves with demons, or even Yu-Gi-Oh where the protagonists will even sometimes fuse themselves with their cards, Jaden was never the same in season 4 😅
Commonly jogress and fusions are permanent and how the mind of the result works depend of the parts. Not going to watch because i want to experience this game myself, just saw this and need to comment this. HOLY SHIT I knew this game was going to be a harsh one and have important life or death choices/situations but almost THREE HOURS of character deaths? That is a mixture of impressive and terrifying. Makes me wonder if there's a way to insure everyone can well survive.
I *won't give any spoilers* because you said you want to experience it yourself, they did an interesting approach, all you need to do beat the game on any route, and play again on a New Game Plus and you'll prevent all deaths if you approach a certain "somebody" enough, that somebody will singlehandedly save everybody, it's actually pretty amazing. I guess the mentality is that the developers wanted you to experience sadness the first time around. If you're wondering why it's 3 hours, it's because the game is visual-novel style, unfortunately some of the scenes are somewhat drawn out but it's definitely an interesting game that I couldn't put my hands off of. If you like games where you prevent deaths and you have many routes, I recommend also checking out Devil Survivor games as well as Triangle Strategy.
Digimon meets Evangelion and Madoka Magica. I wonder if there can be a game similiar to Digimon in which random kids get monster-like partners that were created by aliens as living bio-weapons to assist humans with fighting another group of aliens that are hostile to humans. Then comes a twist to the story, the monster partners were secretly programmed with a hidden order (like order 66 of Star Wars) that will make them turn on their human partners but if the player is able to accumulate sufficient friendship with their partner, their partner will join the player instead in fighting the new threat.
I thought of that, but it's a little different.... Basically Digimon were created to infect alien technology to either make it malfunction or steal data of the aliens' plans for the government. However, some Digimon choose to partner with members of the aien race. Together, the Digimon and their alien partners fight to protect the world from extraterrestrial conquest.
Me finding out new Digimon game coming out: This sounds like fun. Me after finding out about the possible death scenes: Holy s@#$! What the hell did I just watch? Yes, I know that there has been death shown in past digimon stuff but that was mostly the digimon themselves and they would just be reborn again. And there were a few human deaths in digimon but not gruesome like being eaten by a rampaging wendigomon. The one human death that doesn't bother me was Kurata from Digimon Savers (Dubbed title: Digimon Data Squad.). That guy deserved what was coming to him. That guy was trying to commit genocide and he was a hypocrite as he trying wipe out all the Digimon and yet he fused himself with a digimon that is part of the Seven Deadly Sins.
Not to mention, the Digimons Kurata killed were basically wiped out of existence, ALL of their data was 100% destroyed or absorbed to feed Belphemon, in any case, no traces left, and this applies to EVERY SINGLE Digimon killed by his Gizumons (PT, AT and/or XT). Btw, Ryo's blood splatter sound makes me think that, as soon as the hands took him to the darkness he was brutally dismembered, same for Saki, theory that also has their final scream as another hint. My points here: 1- You're so fcking right, FCK KURATA, I really hope that the detonation didn't kill him and that he got trapped inside a dimensional void, starving and drying to death. 2- Although they weren't explicit, Survive has the most disturbing human deaths of Digimon.
I haven't played Digimon in what feels like a long time, I think the last game I played was back during the PS3 era, it was the one where you get four digimon and the digiworld is kind of a advanced VR game but then you get trapped in the game. Anyway the title of the video got me curious and definitely didn't expect how dark it would be 😅But now I'm interested in getting the actual game and playing it myself.
Plutomon. An important Digimon to the lore of the Olympus XII (Based Specifically on Hades). Note: that while he is Important to the lore of the Olympus XII and is based on one of the Gods of Olympus like the rest of the group are, he himself isn't a Member.
TBH the closest in the SMT series i'd say is more to the Devil Survivor series (funny enough with "survive") in the name. That game too is also tactical rpg.
So true! But I'm happy for it, Digimon can differentiate itself even more from Pokemon. I was getting tired of boring AAA titles not taking any risks. If you asked me Digimon Survive would be my personal GOTY.
I wish this game took an extra page out of both of those games' books cuz it is a bit lacking. Zero Escape's masterful story pacing, narration, and routes. And Corpse Party's anxiety inducing atmosphere and gore would have definitely helped make this game a real masterpiece

I thought it was funny when he was all "mommy" with Arukenimon's human disguise, then he started breaking down after the disguise was gone and slowly losing touch with reality. I just couldn't feel anything but pity for Ryo, especially when he was tricked to seeing his mom by the kenzoku right before dying.

Cus by extension of Kaito, Dracmon wouldn't exist after Kaito is gone. Kaito dying would cause him to die as well, right?? I remember Piedmon saying Dracmon was gone after Kaito lost his drive (to be a nutcase), which makes sense, because a digimon dying before their tamer wouldn't do much to the tamer besides making them a ticking timebomb counting down towards their inevitable death without said partner, but... Okay is it JUST because Dracmons DNA is still i n there? How does fusion evolution,,, w o r k? Did they c a l l it fusion but meant DNA? Because the specific wording was 'fuse'.
Piedmon calculated the plan VERY carefully. He waites for kaito to be by himself and hyped him up to destroy both worlds and the reason why kaito even had control of boltboutsmon was because of his negative emotions. Meaning that that dracmon was the driver of the car body and piedmon was in the backseat. When kaito finally calmed down his negative emotions and the energy they produce for dracmon insie of the fusion banished an in that instant piedmon took over and devoured what ever prefence dracmon had inside of boltboutamon and making it his new body. And for extra power he absorbed kaito killing him to erase thst little trace of dracmon inside yo make the bodh completely his own. Basically piedmon moved over to the driver seat and flung dracmon out the window.

Same, I've made this comparison before too. I wonder if the devs played Devil Survivor before and were inspired. There was an artist who did the artwork for both Devil Survivor games and the Digimon Cyber Sleuth games, but he didn't do the artwork for this game. Either way the gameplay is pretty fun albeit slow at times.
Same, But I think character in Devil Survivor at least have character development. While Digimon Survive characters is like they got high from the started and went nuts 😅
I rather its animated with mature audience (14+) as targeted audience because IMO the story is amazing. Imagine if they release 12 or 24 episodes as True route for tv series and Moral+Harmony+Wrathful on single OVA movie, would be awesome for me. Imagine the story will ended with only single or 2 survivor like Corpse Party anime. But too bad, Digimon anime is always targeting everyone including younger audience, so I guess Toei or Bandai will never make this as anime.
seems interesting though i cant help but feel they drag on some scenes too much. havent watched it all yet but i can tell most of the budget was spent on the VAs too as the animations are rather, awkward XD
This wasnt the dark i was expecting when I bought this game. I know there are other dark themes in manga/anime/games, but watching all these kids die gruesome deaths its too much in my opinion.
the ones that is unavoidable from death are ryo and shuuji on 1st playthrough, you can save all of them on 2nd play with higher affinities and moral route
Haha, this reminds me of me going on a date at a coffee shop right after making and uploading this video. "Why yes dear, I did just edit down 10 hours of gameplay into a 3 hour compilation of digimon getting destroyed, how could you tell? Anyways I'd like to order a double double and some birthday cake flavored timbits to cheer me up." 😭
It would be lovely if we get Digimon Survive as anime. Multiple Leomon's deaths were sadder than those deaths in Survive. Waiting for Ryo's death was so annoying and I was like "Just die already". Shuuji deserved his death. He was so cruel to poor Lopmon. Saki's death felt a bit random, because she just was there so that Kenzoku could pick her up. A tragic death, certainly, but somehow it seems random. Aoi's death - WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD BELIEVE PIEMON??!! And, of course, she is dead after Plutomon's defeat. Miu's death - Dumb ways to die song comes to mind, because her death is dumb. Professor's, Miyuki's and Haru's/Renamon's deaths - those deaths happened. Kaito's death - WHO IN THE WORLD WOULD BELIEVE PIEMON??!! He deliberately sacrificed Dracumon and, yes, he deserved his death. The biggest mystery is how Minoru survive in every single route? He's just lucky guy, I guess. What's really irritates me is how digimon partners are almost useless. It's understandable they died after their human partner died, but it feels like they even didn't try to save their human partners with evolving. They just watch how their human partner dies, they sob a little and then they die. Still one of the best digimon game so far.
Lol I had the same thoughts about Minoru too. It's a really amazing game. I liked them both, this one's dark tone is amazing, but I enjoyed the Cybersleuth games too. I'd like to see more Digimon games in the future. I agree 100%, an adaptation of Survive as an anime series or movie would be really amazing.
Spoilers for Digimon Survive, and bit of a rant about Ryo's death. While I enjoyed Digimon Survive when I first played it, I think it is pretty frustrating that at least two characters will die on your first playthrough no matter what you do. I did the moral route so I only lost Ryo and Shuuji. I had the highest affinity witg Ryo, so when I lost Ryo I thought I had missed a key conversation with him, or gave the wrong answer to something, and did my best not to spoil the solution. I kept thinking that his death might have been a fakeout. Well, I gave in after a while, and checked to see if there was a way to save Ryo and Shuuji since it seemed clear that Shuuji was going to be the next one to go. Then I learned that the only way to save them was to do NG+. I continued on with the game because I did enjoy the story, and thought that maybe it might provide some explanation as to how you're supposed to save Ryo in NG+ (as if it dealt with Time Travel, or you get a premonition in the second playthrough). So when I finally did beat the game on the moral route, the game had the nerve to say "Maybe if you were nicer to Ryo then he would have lived". I had him as the highest affinity between all the partners. I was extremely nice to him! After about a year I finally decided to go for the game's True Ending, and I just finished the Chapter where Ryo is supposed to die. The only reason he lives this time around isnt really because you the player chooses some special option. The differences are: Ryo doesnt see his mom in the fog to run towards it, Kunemon takes the iniative to tackle him, and Agumon doesnt stop you from chasing after him. It was honestly disappointing to see how they handled this scene in NG+. They could have had it where in order to save Ryo you had to have a higher wrath level at this moment, or spend extra move with him during the Free Action stage of the chapter, or had Kunemon deal the final blow to Cyclonemon. Anything else besides the condescending message of "maybe if you were nicer to Ryo."
I don’t know if you finished the true route or not, unfortunately the game designers expected the players to finish all 3 routes and explore all 3 endings with thier own implications THEN go to the true ending. Needless to say im not fan of this approach , and the fact all routes are almost the same until the mid turning point is mind shatteringly boring.
@DarkJ1425 Yup. Finished the game a few weeks after I made this post. The true ending was fine for the story it was trying to tell, but it felt like they dropped the ball in some parts. The difficulty spike during it was incredibly frustrating, particularly the chapter where you needed to keep Metalgarurumon alive. Not to mention the idea that you get the final augumon digivolution only after you beat the true ending which just feels pointless. They really could have added that into the story at the end like they did for Omnimon. Oh, and actually show the other kids' digimon turn into the god beasts would have been nice instead of just a text message saying "labramon can turn into X" now. But yeah, even with the potential to skip through entire dialogue sequences if you've seen them before doesnt really justify the fact that you would have to play through half the game just to get to that pivotal point is incredibly dumb. It also seemed incredibly lazy that the big moment hinges on which colored option you pick now that I think about it. At least they made the reason why no one else dies in the true route make some sense (Shinji and Ryo were able to pull Mui and Saki to safety when the castle was collapsing).
@@simpsonwizekid apparently to get Omnimon you should a) be on NG+ b)go for the moral route NOT the true route c) field Garurumom whenever possible. If I remembered this correctly, they expected us to start with wrath or harmony then moral then true route to get through the difficulty comfortably… i had problems with fire emblem three houses going through the first half for each house, but here it was just tiring and they should’ve given it much thought.
@@DarkJ1425 I had accidentally done the Moral route the first time I played the game and then went back to do the True route. To go back and do the endings where more of the kids die before doing the true ending is really the developers asking a lot of their audience, especially when the game itself is 60+ hours long for each playthrough. I think it took that long to beat if you didnt put the dialogue and battles on fast forward/automatic. If I remember correctly I believe the developers themselves went through hell making the game, and they might have had to scrap it halfway through the development and started over again. I can see why they would rush through it if that's the case, but it was still a poor idea. If they really wanted us to do Wrath or Harmony first, then they should made it impossible to do Moral on the first playthrough. Though that would have just been an arbitrary roadblock for the sake of having a roadblock. If anything, they should have just had Moral be the True ending
@@simpsonwizekid absolutely correct, they have been through hell developing this game but they made it through due to sheer passion. Them selling half a million copies possibly more is an accomplishment all things considered. If they are making a sequel- kinda hinted in the true ending-,or hell, a Survive If taking place if Takoma abandoned everyone and the world went to hell kinda SMT4 Apocalypse style I will definitely 100% support them.
I'll say say real quick, I think Miu's death should have not been the fog but instead the digimon that became the fog to take her life instead like I was straight up expecting after it's roar for there to be a gasp then it biting down on her ... Or something
Same, I like most monster collecting games except Pokemon. I mean Pokemon is good too but other franchises like Digimon or even Yokai Watch really innovate and take risks! This is a Digimon game that's a little similar to Lord of the Flies and I would've never believed someone if they told me 10 years ago this would happen. I see a lot of my friends who didn't like Digimon in the 2000's even getting into it nowadays because they're making fun and interesting games.
@@BAIGAMING I stopped playing pokemon despite of my love for this franchise. I mean... I think they'll never give up the "beat the gym leaders" or "beat the team grunts" because they are afraid to take risks (I'm not sure about the english I'm a bit rusty sorry if this is full of mistakes...)
It's tricky to answer, some can be avoided, some are forced on your first playthrough. You need to do a new game plus playthrough to be able to do a perfect playthrough. It's interesting though because if you do NG+ and save one character early on it's like a nice butterfly effect and they'll help you save the other characters too, I think the devs really wanted you to see everything go poorly the first playthrough. Strangely reminds me of Lord of the Flies.
I never am happy about deaths, got a kind heart, but let me tell you am I happy the first kid died, holy shit was that a pain to watch even while skipping to his death. Bro really would not stfu about his mom

You know I think the only reason Minoru doesn't die is because Takuma never did. Half of the deaths are resulted from another death.
Shuuji cause of Ryo
Aoi cause of Saki
Kaito cause of Miu
an interesting view one I quite like but cannot be confirmed since takuma is the protagonist
Yup. Sometimes what doesn't kill you just makes you worse, and I'm glad this game doesn't shy away from that
I hate how many people miss the point of Shuuji’s character; I’m going to admit that I’m gonna post this rant anywhere I see discussion of him, because it’s important.
The rest of the franchise: nooooo you cant do that kids arent supposed to die only the adults can
Digimon survive: Wait kids can't die?
I will say that in this game you not only feel sad at the human deaths (except Shuuji soprry not sorry) but also the Digimon deaths as well.
@@airsoul366 It's classic Digimon character growth.

IMO (Probably lot of you already figure out):
1) Moral is like you taking group survive as first priority, but do not take any risk or possibility that will lead any teammate to their death (Except for Kyo and Shuuji, of course).

On Shuuji's defense tho, he was neglected as a child because of emotional abuse and abandonment by his father. The same thing happens with him doing the exact same thing to Lopmon. In short, he was prijecting his failures to Lopmon rather than being understanding and empowering the little guy.

The world that was created is a shadow of the true world."
The Japanese word for "Idea" [イデア] is specifically used in reference to Plato's philosophy about idealism, in which basically everything we see is a mere reflection of what is truly there.
The concept of emantionism is that there are in fact innumerable layers of reality, one more abstract than the other, but in the end with all arising from a single higher and absolute layer.According to Emanationism, Creation occurs by a process of
emanation - "out-flowing".
Our physical bodies have
souls, souls have other souls (I will call it the second soul), the second soul has a third soul, and so on.
Light being an umbrella term
inspired by the concept of Plato’s “Form of Good” ”.
Normally I would hate Ryo but knowing his backstory, I feel bad for him.

Most of the times it is a complete new being with it´s own moral and ideas but the memories of both materials. Some other times a strong digimon just eats the weaker and uses it as material. And sometimes the fusion can go SO WRONG that they turn into a Chaosmon, whish is basically a Digimon with AIDS
there was a dark version of Spirit evolution from Frontier in Savers, with Ivan, Nanami and Kouki becoming Bio-Hybrids by having their DNA spliced with different Digimon, each one having an Armour and Mega evolution. and Kurata was going to turn Thomas's sick little sister; Relena into a Bio-Hybrid too as a treatment for her illness.

My points here:
1- You're so fcking right, FCK KURATA, I really hope that the detonation didn't kill him and that he got trapped inside a dimensional void, starving and drying to death.
2- Although they weren't explicit, Survive has the most disturbing human deaths of Digimon.

So. Eventually after Dracmon and Piedmon fuse into Boltboutamon, Kaito is killed by him.
So....If Kaito is gone, and half of Boltboutamon IS Dracmon,,, How does he continue to exist a f t e r Kaito dies?

These are the reasons why Takuma needs to use the mythical dial of destiny to prevent these tragedies from ever happening.

This is the reason why I do prefere Digimon to Pokemon. They dared to develop a f****** horror game
I mean... This is always the same game, even if they tryed to change the gameplay, incorporing new mechanics like open world and other shits. I think they'll never give up the "beat the gym leaders" or "beat the team grunts" because they are afraid to take risks
(I'm not sure about the english I'm a bit rusty sorry if this is full of mistakes...)
I don’t know about you guys but if I was there to witness (and god forbid hear the noises) at 45:15 I would have definitely been vomiting my lunch out
are these deaths based on choices and can they be avoided or do all the characters simply die?
if it's the latter
it seems a bit stupid
It's tricky to answer, some can be avoided, some are forced on your first playthrough. You need to do a new game plus playthrough to be able to do a perfect playthrough. It's interesting though because if you do NG+ and save one character early on it's like a nice butterfly effect and they'll help you save the other characters too, I think the devs really wanted you to see everything go poorly the first playthrough. Strangely reminds me of Lord of the Flies.
Homie did you just say death scenes?
I wish this was an anime
I'd enjoy an anime adaptation so much!
I never am happy about deaths, got a kind heart, but let me tell you am I happy the first kid died, holy shit was that a pain to watch even while skipping to his death. Bro really would not stfu about his mom
Agreed, though it's interesting he gets a redemption if you do a new game plus on a true ending route.
