I was just going thru my old yt playlists and I found this song again after 5 years and I just keep wondering how could anyone forget about this gem and others not even had heard this beauty of a song before im just glad I came across it at a young age shows I had great taste from the start so as the rest of you thanks Hop Along
These lyrics are seriously top notch. I've known people who have dealt with similar personal life shit that seeps into the workplace. Frances nailed it.
I remember seeing Hop Along back when it was acoustic in Parma HTS, Ohio in the basement of some now renamed bar. It was awesome and I still know most of the words to that album that I have on my itunes still. Yeah this is rad too!
Hop along is my new obsession!she was at johnny brendas sept 10th and I was in fishtown!! I went to '3rd and girard'venue and venue 'the fire' at 4th and girard. I wish someone would have told me,
Hop along changed my views on music and changed my life. But my boyfriend is really sensitive to weird or rough sounds as well as even small amounts of dissonance so he doesn't like them.
Realized I knew you from His photo when you walked Into the restaurant And my heart just sunk Your friend looked over from the bar She must’ve known who I was The worst possible version of what I’d done As, seating couples, I tried to listen By the time it’s old A face will have been seen One and a half million times One million times I don’t know why I worry I mean, maybe she didn’t recognize me I call you enemy 'Cause I’m afraid of what you could call me The world’s gotten so small and embarrassing By the time it’s old My face will have been seen And I’ll share a very common poverty It’s a very common kind Common kind, common kind It’s a very common kind It’s not that I am worried I just wish you and your friends would leave We’ve long since closed now Still, you and some others stick around You and some others stick around You and some others stick around We’ve long closed now Still, you and some others stick around You and some others stick around You and some others stick around
pbini if you are somehow still using this account then what is a good song by pavement if i love this song? If there is another band like this i really wanna hear them. Also listen to Camp Cope, theyre kinda like an Australian hop along, but they're still their own thing.
I don't know how I feel about her singing voice. Like, she sounds really cute and fun to be around. But I can't really listen to her songs for that long. It sounds good, but- I can't place it. Like I have to wear a jean jacket with jeans on and walk around a busy city and then an empty southern town while I'm listening. If I don't do those things then I feel like I'm not doing the music justice.
The USA Today article that brought me here stated that "Sorry Adele, but this is the record of the year". WTF? I'm sure this woman is a nice person, but to compare her voice to Adele's is laughable!
I think a girl should sing like a girl. Many good indie rock songs are wasted by female vocals. Im not sexist at all. She can play guitar, drums, bass in this band or be a vocalist in bands like evanescance or heart but this.. it just sounds and even looks weird to act like a man.
there shouldn't be any "idea" of what a girl should sound like. girls have a variety of different voices and tones. just like our body shapes and facial features, there should be no objectification of perfect female characteristics. if you don't like her vocals, fine. but don't make it about gender, that's just stupid.

Oh dude I'm totally with you, brings back so many memories of 2015/16.
Best vocal performance ive ever heard honestly
ive been playing this on repeat for 4 days straight. what the hell kind of magic is this.
These lyrics are seriously top notch. I've known people who have dealt with similar personal life shit that seeps into the workplace. Frances nailed it.
Phenomenal track, Francis's vocals are nothing less than sublime.
Whatever they do with their voice at 1:15 is the best shit ever. Goose bumps.
Blergh Afgba i love it, but it doesn't sound healthy, i always worry about her cause of that lmao
same and i worry about their voice too
Technically it's yodeling! Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries did it a lot
@@niceperson180 i did notice it was similar to her sort of singjng!!
I'm seriously so happy I discovered this! I was listening to Spotify and this came on. I can't get enough of this album now!
this is the first song ive heard from this band. amazing. i love her voice so much
1:34-1:54 gives me goosebumps every time! Definitely one of my favorite moments in the history of music 🥰
This song was my introduction to Hop Along. That very same day I heard this song for the first time, I bought their album and saw them live.
ManateeMentality You saw them live the same day you first heard them?
@@gethaunted that's what it s said chief! 🤙
This song is a gem.
Such a powerful vocal performance. Goose bumps.
Heard this on my way home like 20 min ago and I started yelling, asking myself "WHO IS THIS!?" It's like Ive discovered gold.
One of the very best rock songs in many years. Working-class angst in her voice and lyrics: a very common kind of poverty.
WOW, this is good.. god the power in het voice, good sounding drum rythm too
I remember seeing Hop Along back when it was acoustic in Parma HTS, Ohio in the basement of some now renamed bar. It was awesome and I still know most of the words to that album that I have on my itunes still. Yeah this is rad too!
you were playing with Delay from Berea/Columbus, Ohio.
the vocals are amazing, they remind me off ida maria and in company of thieves. perfect.
AMAZING song. I ordered this CD and will be rocking the hell out of it! Need to see them live in NYC!
So glad these talented people are blowing up! Heard them on Siriusxmu the other day (:

All Songs Considered is such a good way to learn new music.

christ, thats a beautiful song! reminds me of rainer maria.
Best band.
song brings back so many memories
Hop along is my new obsession!she was at johnny brendas sept 10th and I was in fishtown!! I went to '3rd and girard'venue and venue 'the fire' at 4th and girard. I wish someone would have told me,
My heart just sunk
I expected to see no dislikes, but I guess there always have to be those few people who accidentally hit the wrong button
❤❤❤
I did that and did not notice until you mentioned it
Hop along changed my views on music and changed my life. But my boyfriend is really sensitive to weird or rough sounds as well as even small amounts of dissonance so he doesn't like them.
I love the new song, now I'm off to preorder the deluxe LP. :)

This song is amazing
I really thought I knew what love was until I heard this for the first time on the radio
Frances Quinlan is her name and she's amazing
@@melody3741i agree but they use they/them pronouns not she/her!
It's just so good!
Brilliant song!
This is pretty awesome ..
It's better than what's out there
now for me keep making awesome music.
The rhythm section drives.
Fucking awesome. She didn't even have to sell her soul to me to be this good.
so rad!
Beautiful
Not since Cerys Matthews has a female voice so utterly captivated me.
yeeep totally getting this cd as well :D
Awesome work, great job, you've made me very proud
Her voice.
I always come back here
2:13
What happens to her at the end of the story? Incredible song

Realized I knew you from
His photo when you walked
Into the restaurant
And my heart just sunk
Your friend looked over from the bar
She must’ve known who I was
The worst possible version of what I’d done
As, seating couples, I tried to listen
By the time it’s old
A face will have been seen
One and a half million times
One million times
I don’t know why I worry
I mean, maybe she didn’t recognize me
I call you enemy
'Cause I’m afraid of what you could call me
The world’s gotten so small and embarrassing
By the time it’s old
My face will have been seen
And I’ll share a very common poverty
It’s a very common kind
Common kind, common kind
It’s a very common kind
It’s not that I am worried
I just wish you and your friends would leave
We’ve long since closed now
Still, you and some others stick around
You and some others stick around
You and some others stick around
We’ve long closed now
Still, you and some others stick around
You and some others stick around
You and some others stick around
Walter Schreifels/Wachatachee/The Cranberries birth Child.
not to be a lesbian on main but her voice is so hot
how can i find a song like this? anybody introduce me please.
I sense a strong "Bettie Serveert" vibe, in a good way!
I wish I could do this with my voice
Just saw them open for Saves The Day, check them out if you can everyone!

Fuck, I need indie music stores in Mexico.
She's got a ticket to ride.

The USA Today article that brought me here stated that "Sorry Adele, but this is the record of the year". WTF? I'm sure this woman is a nice person, but to compare her voice to Adele's is laughable!
Don't like it ,friend told me to listen sounds, like all new music not trying to be popular.

LANTIRN is there some way that she is acting like a man? what does it mean to act like a man?
"im not sexist at all" ... sure you aren't
Despite saying you're not sexist, sounds pretty sexist.
She is singing like a girl. Your idea what a girl should sound like is the problem.
