Great sound, and especially superb and surprising nuanced vocal work... while the guitars seem to be collecting fragments and riffs stretching from '70s punk through Elvis Costello and into '90s grunge... super cool!
Whenever I describe this band to people, I tell them to imagine a woman who had the voice of Janis Joplin and Jonie Mitchell who formed a supergroup with member of Modest Mouse and the Dismemberment Plan.
Sun setting on the street Your dad told you not to look at me Down came the fist hard upon your head I was the only other adult around I was the only other adult around I was 18, you were 8, maybe you were 10 He said, "She's not gonna help you" He said, "She's not..." Kill Rapunzel Hm yeah I assumed they were siblings (big difference between 'your' and 'our'), but other than that, like I said, it was about witnessing child abuse and that that much is pretty clear. However, I don't think "she panicked and left and regretted the decision" as you say. She and her friend saw the abuse happening, went to get a teacher, and the teacher said she couldn't help "that man you described could be anyone" (from the lyrics). She did focus on how helpless the kid was.
+Grant Simpson i got that from her own words, couldnt find the link earlier but she said it on the bands tumblr. hopalongband.tumblr.com/post/114408605245/hey-all-frances-here-today-is-an-exciting-and
Kill Rapunzel Yeah but the lyrics say otherwise: "My good friend convinced me to turn around ... We walked through the dead halls looking for teachers and we found one but she didn’t look too happy to see us ... “How should I know” she said “The man you just described Could be anyone.” So I'm more inclined to believe what is actually written than something you might have misremembered from tumblr, because from the majority of the lyrics she did the opposite of what you say: "she panicked and left and regretted the decision"

A co-worker listens to this. I told him, GREAT..... Finally a band that plays off tune, with a singer off key. Stunning match. Sorry if you are offended, its still funny. Yes I like it, cause its different.

Ow, my heart.

I think you called it. I really get Television in some of the sound of those guitars...

This is incredible. Hop Along comes out pumped and swinging.

Great. Had fun screaming the lyrics to this and bothering the daylights out of my brother! 10/10

+Grant Simpson its about a person she saw really aggresivly hitting their kid and she panicked and left and regretted the decision.

I know I don't have perfect pitch but I have a hard time seeing how the band is playing off key.
GSub Intentional voice cracking or roughness doesn't equal off key.
The fuck you on about?
