Man, thanks so much for this video; i had already cleaned my carb but thanks to you showing a thorough walk-walk thru, i noticed I didn't put the needle in the slot of the float....I spent all day trying to get my pressure washer working. You are a life saver.
It's a good idea to use a paper clip or guitar string to make sure the ports are clear of debris. The bowl bolt has ports that need to be cleared as well. That might be what freed up with that last blast of air.
i was given a troy bilt pressure washer for free without a hose and wand. can i connect the garden hose to it and run it to see if the pump work or do i have to have the hose and wand attached. id kinda like to find out if the pump works before i spend 80$ on a hose and wand. also i just watched a video where the mechanic says never run a pressure washer longer than a minute without water moving though the pump. thanks.
You can run it without a hose and wand, pressurized water will just shoot out the outlet where you hook up the hose. If the pump works it will shoot out with a lot of power. I agree, you should always have water hooked up to the pressure washer b4 running or you will overheat and burn up the pump seals.
I'm so glad you asked I just tried turning my on, and the hose was connected to the faucet. I tried starting the machine and the hose burst, I'm guessing there was a hole?
@@thebatmomthe pressure washer hose or the garden hose? The pressure washer hose is under a lot of pressure. If they are old or compromised they can burst
I bought one of these exact same washers new a few years ago. It's always been a POS. Hard to start from day one. I took the carb apart and cleaned it last summer. Last time I tried to use it in the fall it would not start at all. I'm going to try to clean the carb again and look into the main jet size. I live at over 6200' and I'm not sure if it came with a high altitude jet. Hoping that will help. If it doesn't help, I'm throwing the damn thing away. I'm tired of messing with it.
I hope that works for you. I always make sure I hit the trigger on the water wand to remove any built up pressure that will prevent the engine from turning over fast. These caruretors get gummed up quickly it seems if you dont use them all the time.
1.You can drain the carburetor bowl when you are going to store it. 2.You can run it out of fuel before storage. 3. If you use non-ethnanol recreational fuel or a fuel additive that helps as well.

Great I’m glad it worked out for you. Stay Positve!!!
I spent 4 days on this thing and I was ready to trash it until I saw your video. I blew air into the main gas hole and it started right up. Thank you
That’s great!!! I’m glad that trick worked for someone else!!!

I’ll keep that in mind. Thanks for the comment!!!

You can also find a hose on Amazon for about 25 dollars and a wand for another 25 dollars
Dumb question but what size garden hose goes on that?
I believe it’s a 5/8

It worked thank you !!!!!
Glad it helped!!!! Thanks for the comment!!! Stay positive!!!
I just slap them in sonic cleaner and spend time sharpening blades or service items
I clean 95% of carbs that come in shop now 😊
Yeah that would be a nice addition. Do you completely disassemble first?
How de we prevent from the carburetor getting like that
1.You can drain the carburetor bowl when you are going to store it.
2.You can run it out of fuel before storage.
3. If you use non-ethnanol recreational fuel or a fuel additive that helps as well.
You need a sonic cleaner or acid dip
Do you completely disassemble first before you out it in the sonic cleaner?
You need to check the valves
Why is that?
Never pay for a used pressure washer on market place, they all are pieces of crap.
I mostly agree with you. If you cannot test it and see if the pump is functioning I would steer clear as well.
