I grew up going to these games. One Christmas back then my uncle gave me a facesimile autograph Oakland Raiders football. With all the players names on it. Along with a helmet. Fast forward I’m around 31 and my supervisor call’s us into his office to let us know he will be going into the hospital because he has cancer. I went home and dug threw everything and the next day I walked into work and handed George my supervisor the football. Knowing he was a huge Oakland Raiders fan. I told him this will give you something to do while you recover. His wife said some days he would just hug the football. Other days he would read all the names. We lost George way to soon as he lost his battle with cancer. But I felt he needed the football more than I did. He was a true Oakland Raiders fan until the end . Thank You for letting me share his story.

That Lamonica to Wells duo in 1969 was incredible!!!! I remember the TV announcers weekly call of "Wells slot left".

I still believe that KC WR Otis Taylor's sideline "catch" in the AFL Championship game was out of bounds. That play turned the momentum of the game in the Chiefs' favor and they went on to win. If the Raiders had been in SB 4 they would have beaten the Vikings too.

This coming from an impartial Jet fan . Yes Taylor was def out bad call and a game changer . But the Raiders kept shooting themselves in the foot . Red zone interceptions also settling for field goal attempts that Blanca ended up missing and Lamonica hurting his passing hand also did not help .

Dream on. Lamonica would have choked in the SB; just like he did against the Chiefs...and the Jets...and the Packers...and the Colts...and the....

Agree with the Taylor call. The Raiders however , would not have won Superbowl 3 or 4. Both the Jets and the Chiefs could exploit the NFL teams pass rush with quick , short passes . The Raiders, who relied on the long ball , needed more time to accomplish this and would've failed. In fact, in 70, 71 and 73. The Raiders were lambasted twice by both the Colts and the Vikings . Yes, one was a pre season game however, the lambastation STILL took place. These late 60's Raiders were a good team though.....much better than the Stabler led , clown filled Raiders who were average at best.

Unbelievable !! The ref is right there, Taylor has BOTH fee out of bounds while bobling the ball.....and they still rule it a catch 20:15

The Raiders finished 1969 with a 12-1-1 record and as noted (6:59) their only loss was to Cincinnati (31-17). Cincinnati rookie QB Greg Cook ultimately defeated both the Raiders and the Chiefs in 1969. Unfortunately in the game against the Chiefs in Week 2 Cook severely injured his right rotator cuff but the extent of the injury was misdiagnosed and he continued to play. Ultimately despite numerous surgeries Cook's career came to an end.

The tie vs dolphins the choke in Cincinnati, the missing 3rd loss in the playoff 11-1-1, should be 11-2-1 right

Marv Hubbard screaming at the Chiefs “ I’m coming at you , he runs over Willie Lanier also , good stuff ! James Gardner from Rockford Files fame on the sidelines , oh btw I was at that game too , just a 8 year old kid then 😉
