Something I find that separates XG from other girl groups is the fact that they are hip hop and r&b based, that’s the sound and direction they aim for, they sing and rap in English, and aim for a global & western audience. Really bringing back 80s and 90s girl group vibes from old school hip hop and pop. Not to mention XG, their team, and their CEO are heavily knowledgeable of hip hop and it’s roots, the girls give endless love and flowers to the pioneers and recognize who are the blueprint for that, they show impressive hip hop knowledge and name off many women of color as their inspiration and what they grew up on and really make that into their own thing while still showing homage, shoutouts, and knowing how to do it correctly! Something I don’t ever see in typical kpop groups that try to rap and make rap base music. Their team is incredible diverse and the girls are most definitely the real deal and legit! They deserve all the respect. XG is gonna dominate

The one thing the guide got wrong, is that K-pop went to Japan. What?
J-pop came decades before K-pop!
XG is NOT K-pop!
They aren't Korean and do not sing in Korean! But they are based there and promote there.
So yes, they have ties to the K-pop industry but musically, they are more influenced by western artists like TLC, Destiny's Child and the Spice Girls, which they mention in interviews all the time.
XG is in a class of their own.
XG = Xtraordinary Girls
X-pop = Xtraordinary pop
