Thank you! Very useful video. I was looking for some help to "re-create" David Fisher's Aphrodite and this seems to be in line with that! Question - Have you had issues of something larger and flat warping after some time? I tried something once with paper clay and it warped up ... Any tips to avoid that?

I love David Fisher's Aphrodite. :) In answer to your question---yes---large and flat things sometimes warp during the drying process. In order to prevent warping, I've tried air drying large pieces on an old oven rack so that air can circulate underneath as well as above. Sometimes I will even place a stack of books on top of a flat clay sculpture (once it has air dried to the point that it feels sort of like tough leather----fairly dry but still a bit flexible). (use parchment paper to keep books from sticking the clay surface). The weight of the books is often enough to keep it from warping up while it finishes the drying process.
I hope your Aphrodite shell sculpture turns out amazing!
