OMG those spring loaded magnet deep wells look magnificent! The Subaru crank socket looks awesome too. The M12 die grinder is #1 on my need to have cordless tools list. Awesome list man! All seem like excellent tools. Remind me later to tell you about a crank bolt breaker tool a friend of mine devised.
A trick to break the crank bolt loose is to put a breaker bar on it with it's handle resting on the garage floor then bump the engine with the starter. Works every time and I've probably done this dozens of times with many makes and models without damaging anything. Just make sure the rotation is correct.
I got the mac hex rbrt set last year, and its probably the most aha thing that I've gotten since i picked up the m12 non fuel 3/8 ratchet like 4 years ago.
I got the Milwaukee die grinder for Christmas for myself lol and used it today for the first time and I love it! Also thanks again for sending me the link to the website the other day!
I just recently picked up an interior 12v power and ground adapter. Plugs into a 12v outlet and boom instant power and ground. Makes it far easier when doing anything electrical under a dash or interior I’m general.
Instead of magnets, some use a piece of paper towel. Another option is a dab of Shoe Goo glue- very thick before it hardens. Instead of a longer handle, I tap on the handle with a small sledge hammer. If you want to change the handle color, I like the ceramic brake caliper paint from an Advance auto parts store, about $10 for a large spray can and a little paint goes a long way- good coverage. Another tip- Fluid Film spray for motorcycle chains, jacket zippers, and protecting steel and rubber parts. Not for door gaskets- use silicone spray or Mothers VLR spray instead.
That 1/2 inch is about 10 stronger then the snap on one i got that when i first started working for gm about 3 years ago and that thing has helped me brake crank bolts on the baby duramax i broke all my snap on 1/2 inch breaker bars its worth the money
Does MAC make these RBRT torx/hex "extractors" or who is the supplier? I noticed S2 steel and thought it was VIM but probably wrong since they are made in Taiwan.
What is with you auto tech guys not liking air tools? Probably for something like that right angle grinder battery powered is okay. But when it comes to 1/2” or bigger impacts like what i use in a heavy diesel shop, Air is still king. I’d rather drag a hose around than carry a heavy ass huge battery powered impact that doesn’t fit anywhere I need it to.
Those Mac hex sockets are interesting but I've always just pounded Torx sockets into stripped Hex sockets and they work great for removal. Yes it destroys the Torx socket but my Napa Carlyle dealer always hands me a new replacement happily. What I would like to see you test is the Makita cordless ratchet, it comes with both 1/4 & 3/8 anvils and spins at 800 RPM. I think it would great for removing the timing cover on that Subaru engine that has 60 + fasteners on it. Me being a motorcycle guy I'll say a 1/4" impact is much better for motorcycles verses any 1/4 electric ratchet as they are much more powerful and faster than any of the cordless ratchets. If you don't want to purchase the Makita I would be willing to send you my own for comparing to your Snapon and Milwaukee. You are one of the few I think could do a honest comparison. ruclips.net/video/6VwSh-hGJuQ/видео.html
Ok, I understand why you have that equipment, but I a mere mortal when it comes to car repair just can’t spend that much. Any recommendations in the under $400 range?
This is my first MAC dealer in my 32 years. Lol You can call MAC customer service, box up the broken tools, ship it to them, they'll ship you all brand new warrantied out product. My MAC guy was replacing broken stuff for me the whole first 3 months. Still have a couple swivel sockets on back order to finish up the replacements.
you should never use scotch bright on an engine, the pads are aluminum oxide and you will almost never get it all out of the engine, aluminum oxide in an engine leads to bearing failures and wear on bearings cranks rods pistons and piston rings. scotch bright should not even be allowed anywhere near an engine

Hey I learned something, I had not seen the magnetic sockets, I already ordered. Thankyou and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Never seen them torx sockets before, I’m sure they come in clutch 👌👍
The MAC extractor ... for those Subaru cam caps!
I got the Milwaukee die grinder for Christmas for myself lol and used it today for the first time and I love it! Also thanks again for sending me the link to the website the other day!
Nice! You're welcome. 👍🏻
That Mac set look killer! Happy New Year!
Definitely enjoying having a MAC dealer for the first time ever.
Your Mac Truck Guy knows you by Name and orders things for his truck He knows you want without asking.
even though I'm using a 3/4in breaker bar, those crank bolts are still quite a fight sometimes.......gonna have to get me some of those glasses
This is only the second video I have watched but I subscribed because you understand tools
Cool tools. Those crank bolts can break an arm lol

Hope your holiday season is a Merry one Mr. Subaru!
I looked over the saftey glasses but I am going to stick with Wiley X Romer. From what I can tell, the Milwaukee frames can't take prescription lenses
Wish you continued the yearly recap!
Hoping to get the die grinder soon here into the new year. Also gonna need to get those glasses!

Nice. Thabks
I've got the Matco flex head and the Milwaukee angle grinder both great tools. Those other tools listed are nice. Particularly the sockets
Awesome tools. Good vid
Have a good new year
Good stuff!
cheers 2020!
Great info! Thanks!
Am looking for an OBDII scanner/diagnostic tool for a 2019 model without going broke (aka
Great video 👍🏼
How are the magnets holding up? And how is the magnet strength on the small sockets under 10mm?
Just got the Mac torxs set
What brand are those cool extended swivel sockets/nut drivers that I see you using all the time in your Milwaukee impact? I need a set of those
Made by Ko-ken.
Great choices. Only one I’d say you should have had is the company23 ball joint removal tool. Saved my bacon.

What brand is the socket tray you’re using for the magnetic impacts? Thx

They've got the patent on them. Can't find them elsewhere.
How is Subaru addressing valve gunk buildup in their direct injection engines?
They aren't really...
MrSubaru1387
That’s what I was afraid of. Any recommendations?
Walnut blasting
Also see the Project Farm RUclips videos for maintenance tips.
I love me my 6” Knipex adjustable wrench pliers! PN: 86 03 150 please give them a try!
Rbrt line not extractor they are regular hex torx set juz a different design. They also have an rbrt extractor line.
Those are sunex sockets and Macs expert line in sunex also.
When is part 3 of the Outback towing mods coming ? The "brakes" part if I re
Thanks.
call correctly.

Thread chaser kit that's worth it?

Which OBD2 scanner do you use? And do you use a scanner to bleed the ABS master cylinder?
I have a Snap-on ZEUS and Subaru Select Monitor III.
Ok, I understand why you have that equipment, but I a mere mortal when it comes to car repair just can’t spend that much. Any recommendations in the under $400 range?
I honestly don't have a solid recommendation at this time. Haven't personally used any sub $400 scan tools to have something to recommend to you.
Did the rbrt hex bits come in a case like the torx bits?
The bigger sets do. I got the small set, came on a rail.
Mac is still in business? Strange, I’ve not seen a truck in years. Got a small pile of busted sockets that are useless without a dealer.

Any thoughts on the straight m12 die grinder?
I was excited for it, until I saw some other's reviews of it. Down on rpm and power. Not what I was expecting. I'll be passing on that purchase.
@@MrSubaru1387 Good to know - I'll get the version. THX for the quick response.
What are your top five tools of all time. ?
Sounds like a video idea. 👍🏻 😊
Rousseau Tool Boxes
What...no Icon in the top 5????
😂
Negatory. Lol

Which is why I use 3M bristle disks on engine parts and scotch brite pads on brake, suspension, and other vehicle components.
They unsubscribes me. Good vid check out the vid I made about gearwrench bolt biters. Might surprise you👍🏼
I really tried to pay attention to the tools, but man your thumb, lol. Looks like it hurt.
Timing belt tensioner popped me last Monday on the crank pulley failure Impreza.
