Excellent. All the problems are due to Nehru's alacrity with regards to POK and Aksai chin. There were various opportunities when Indian forces could have seized POK back but the governments under various PM's didn't allow them to. Now our brave army is left with this task of guarding our borders in the most inhospitable terrain known to man. We lose so many of our brave hearts to the treacherous conditions everyday.

An area almost 35 times the size of Goa of India's territory is with China and Pakistan combined. POK plus Gilgit Balitistan plus Aksai Chin plus Shaksham Valley equals to 35 Goa's.
Mostly due to Nehru's follies and blunderous decisions.
His ego and stubborn nature that I am always right and almost on all decisions going against the wisdom of Sardar Patel made India loose tremendous territory.
There are confirmed reports that Manmohan Singh was wanting to demilitarize the glacier and was about to commit some big peace nik blunder.

It is India's territory no doubt. But we must understand we were never in possession of them. Im saying this to put things in perspective. Its not like we were driven out of those places, they are our claim lines. Possession is ownership ex: Siachen is ours

    • @cyruslovesindia
      @cyruslovesindia 2 года назад +8

@@doncorleone3901 Aksai Chin was in India's possession and Indian Army used to do patrolling as well but that entire area was lost in 1962.
As such one would say India wasn't in possession of JK either.
The entire JKL was acceded to India by its Maharajah which includes Aksai as well as Gilgit Balitistan.
Nehru was on record saying perhaps he could have given army few more days to recover those areas which Pak calls Azad Kashmir. But he never admitted his humongous blunder.
The areas of Gilgit Balitistan were treacherously separated in August 1947 by the British Major, William Alexander Brown of the Frontier Corps Gilgit Scouts. He unfurled the Pak flag having an inherent hatred for India.
UK can wage a war against Argentina to protect its territorial integrity of the Falkland Islands which are thousands of kms away from its mainland and extremely close to Argentina. The native local population of the Falkland Islands was removed and filled with Britishers so any referendum would be in UK's favour.
But India shouldn't protect its areas which are legally its own by a valid accession by its lawful ruler and that land in joined to the Indian mass mainland.
One could then even argue that the concept of India itself wasn't there prior to 1947. Hopefully that mentality didn't get pursued and Sardar Patel was in charge of unification of all the princely states. God bless his soul'. Today India the 7th largest country in the world owes its unification to the great Sardar Patel. Nehru was in charge of only Kashmir where be bungled up its effects felt to this very day.

Stretigic importance of this glacier is unrealistic in comparison to what climate change is unfolding all over the world. Arctic, Antarctic and Himalayan glaciers are melting at much faster rates creating a much warmer Indian subcontinent by about next two to three decades. As per climatologists, Himalayan glaciers will totatally melt away by about 2075, if not earlier. That will turn Indus plains as well as Gangetic plains into dust bowl, totally uninhabitable for the population that it has. That will be another world unrealistic and incompatible with political scenarios being made up of by short-sighted imbeciles.

Siachen glacier as such has no strategic importance . Reasons are many. Not to be discussed here. My company was in northern glacier in 1985 for six months . I had recommended in my report that we vacate this glacier and occupy other Valles leading to Gilgit & Aksai chin . I have been there in 1996 with special forces and as incharge of Siachen battle school for three months. It has become a five star resort & show piece of army . 1985 our daily expenditure was Rs 2 Lakh per day . It is now 13 Crores per day . A white elephant , prestige issue for MOD . We need yo be aggressive towards Gilgit and Aksai chin or Karakoram pass . Glacier is just a piece of snow which does not lead to any other area except K 2 mountain. Since Army Headquarter and MOD in 1984 made it a prestige issue , no one wants to go against them . Those who have not served there talk of its strategic importance. My Foot .

Wrong information. Indira Col is named because, Siachen was occupied when Indira Gandhi was the prime minister. It was her decision and pre emptive action, resulted the indian control of Siachen. You need to Learn the history. Before Modi, only Indira Gandhi was the P.M. with metal.

Meh. Your channel is clearly biased. Use less jingoistic terms and stop calling your enemies names. These are hallmarks of a hurt ego and takes away from your content.
Siachen has no strategic or tactical military advantage for India or any other country. You would be crazy to think that anyone could launch offensive military operations from here and no army in its right mind would use these conditions as a launch pad. Pakistan and China don’t need to link up for any joint strike in Ladakh.
Btw: Kashmir is disputed territory under international law.

Karakoram pass can only be used 2-3 months in a year. It would be a great advantage for Pakistan and China if they get a road which is all weather like one going thru pangong lake to skardu

Actually we should've grabbed much more - whole of Gilgit-Baltistan, but lacked the resources to do that, then. After all, these are called Pak occupied Kashmir.
