I just ordered one of these (will have it in my hands in about a week or so), and this video made me even more excited to get it than I already was! Great use of verbal explanaition and then showing that comment in action, and also the "little?" things that often are not done on review videos (ex: the more satin feel of the keys in comparison to the slick piano keys) gives me a sense of what this instrument will be like to play when I get it. I am looking forward to watching future videos on the software - it does look a little... um... intimidating on the screen 😮. Thank you for this!

Happy you got excited - There is a reason for that!
We'll do 4 more videos on Osmose going more further so keep eyes on the next uplodads :)

A great review, no need for the speaking hands, just distracts:)
I have it for a few months, for me it misses the analogue sounds where I play it combined with the Peak

You pretty much hit on all of the nuance that the Osmose has to offer with its keyboard, namely the pitch bend with lateral motion and the fact that sound begins the instant you begin to depress the keys; but I don't think you mentioned the glide feature. With an appropriate patch (usually mono), the synth determines the pitch as somewhere between the two notes depressed, depending on how deeply each key is depressed. For example (and this will vary with your selected keyboard preferences): if you hold down a C and gradually apply the E above it, the pitch will raise by however much you depress the E. If you don't fully depress the E the pitch won't reach the E as long as you hold the C all the way down. If you fully depress the E or lighten up on the C, the pitch will continue to raise toward the E. This can be quite useful, if you are playing music that can take advantage of this, or if you want more control over portamento times.
If you did mention this, or if you planned to cover this in a future video, I apologize in advance. I look forward to your next videos. I have had mine since they came to the US, but I still have not used it as a controller nor broken into the EagenMatrix. This promises to be very exciting. Thank you.

Nice walk thru. I love the Osmose. While the key interface is traditional, and feels mostly conventional, I wouldn't use it as my only keyboard. In fact the keys are unique enough in feel, play and response that I'd almost classify it as a whole new instrument, the way a piano and an organ are similar but not at all interchangeable and play very different, velocity vs no velocity and organ keys snap back a bit faster than even a concert grand piano. Someday there will be session players that are expert Osmose players like a violinist or trumpet player, the synth is that unique.

What do you like and don't like about Tyler's review? Let us know so we can work on these things guys, much love!

Pros and cons of your video? Pros = It's clear that you've studied the product in depth and you've given it a very comprehensive review. You go quite far in your explanations without it becoming too technical, which makes it easy for the less technical among us to follow. Your accent is very pleasant and I understand exactly what you're saying without having to read the subtitles. Cons= The video is far too long, which means a lot of adverts have to be added. By the third advert, I can't take it any more and I want to leave. You could divide this video into 3 videos of 8 minutes each, with slightly different chapters. That would give you more content for the same amount of work. You are Italian? otherwise why move your hands so much when you're talking and you're not manipulating. Use different points of view to break the monotony of the static view. Keep up the good work!

@@Integraudio The hand movements are fine! I didn't even think about it until it was mentioned. At least with hand movements, we know it's much less likely a review done by AI ;-) Let's embrace what makes us human. Great review, Tyler!

Nice review, well researched, and I like the hands, similar to what Loopop does for example. But TBH, might be nice to see Tyler’s face too.

For dust - why don’t you put a simply cover on it. All keyboards collect dust… AFAIK

ROLI’s Equator 2 synth arguably offers more than the Egan Matrix, not least because of its beautifully curated set of multi-samples.

This thing feels all around cheap to me. Wobbly knobs, faders and laggy screen. The keyboard feels like you’re just playing a keyboard on top of a layer of stretchy fabric (ie: the continuum). I was so excited about this keyboard, and was going to buy early in the campaign, but since touching it in person at multiple music shops, I have lost all interest. The keyboard doesn’t feel bad, but everything else feels cheap around it which leads me to feel like the keyboard is also. I could probably get used to the wobbliness of the keyboard, but like many people, I have no interest in the synth engine, as I think the synth engine sounds incredibly boring from the presets. Such a huge disappointment.

Keyboardists want to sound more like guitarists, i.e., go in and out of tune. Meanwhile guitarists will use things like the Evertune system to stay in tune. Go figure.

By default, synthesizer is the only instrument that’s precisely locked into 12 tone equal temperament and the result is a rigid and corny sound. The tyranny of MIDI. Not even an acoustic piano is like this, and most other instruments cannot avoid subtle pitch expressions. The performer will naturally seek intervals that are measured in terms of just ratios, giving color and life to the sound.
It’s no coincidence that the guitar brought so called “blue notes” to western music. Given the ability to express pitch with your hands, that sort of thing will naturally be discovered and embraced.

as a keyboardist, the sad truth for us is that there're way more keyboardists and pianists than there're guitarists or pretty much any other instrument. The piano is the go-to instrument for any kid getting their feet wet in music. An oversupply means a decrease in value, and therefore sounding like a "good keyboardist" is simply not enough to put food on the table...
