I certainly remember how Rod Roddy went on a weight loss program where he was overweight much of his adult life, and when he lost weight, during a banter between him and Bob, he would tell how much weight he lost. And of course, we can't forget the shiny jackets he wore. They became his trademark!
@jsf01974 Yeah. They canceled every surgery in the hospital that day, except for Rod's. The doctors were afraid to wait even 24 extra hours in his case.
Speaking of this video, I just noticed that this crowd was on their feet earlier than any other crowd I've seen on any episode of TPIR. Can this crowd be considered the most energetic crowd of all time?
@Kjr0se Most of those set changes had as much to do with the switch to HD as they did with making it "new for Drew." The old set was just plain old and rundown. (Watch Push Over for a great example: The cubes are obviously ratty pieces of painted sytrofoam.) They also had to deal with the fact that with the wider HD picture, viewerscould now see production staffers standing off to the side a lot of the time; that's why that new purple-squared wall is there and a few other things have been moved.
No, Im pretty sure you can be any age to get into the studio because like they say its a family show lol..but yes to be an acutal contestent on the show you must be at least 18 years of age to get called to come on down!!!:P
I'm sure "The Price is Right" is going to continue for a very long time...the next time it celebrates its 40th year on CBS isn't until 2012...hey, that time, I'll be 22...lol

And I miss Rod too.
Rest in peace, Bob Barker

i remember this, it was my freshman year down at suny brockport, i watched this in my friends dorm room...great opening!!!
The doors seen here were used from 1875-2002. The original doors used from 1972-1975 were orange, yellow, and brown.
I miss Rod Roddy, God Bless his Soul.
Rod was one of the best voices on TV

No I don't have the 27th season premiere. But I know Bob make an audience entrance because Golden Road was the 1st game played that day.
Over $160,000 in cash and prizes were given away on this particular show!
The reason the 30th season started on September 24, 2001 was because of the 9/11 attacks.
A motorcycle as the first IUFB? Well, that was the case on the 29th Season premiere, which I have on tape.

That purple background is gone..the turntable and big doors are all based off the MDS look from last season.
Yes 18 Is The Age You Can be on TPIR!
thanks for answering that's all I wanted to know about that episode
Oh, I see. Thank you.
Actually 2011 will start TPiR's 40th year (hopefully).
do you happen to have the season premiere for the 27th season I am curious to why bob barker made an audience entrance for it
I would be suprised if he makes it to Year 39. or just cancel the show all together.
@btn2271984 2012 actually since it premiered in 1972...

Hahaha, oh yeah, the fall of 2011 to the spring of 2012...thanks for the correction...

if drew continue's the same way TPIR is NOT about to go any time soooon it is CBS'ZZZZZZ (baby)
god bless his soul
i agree he is doing a GREAT job
*1975.
He'd me 80 years old then, so it's possible. But, I think by that time, people would've lost interest.
Not really. i don't see how it's "scary" that this only six years ago. Why do you say that?
ouch
rod roddy 0:02 0:05 0:12 0:22 0:56 1:13!
You have to be 18 years old to be able to come into the studio because the insurance policy TPIR has forbids minors to be inside.
I agree..Bob Eubanks woulda been a great replacement.
haha she looks like she forced into the whole "suck up to cbs and bob barker" speech...
Drew carey will never make it 30 years
